Yep NC burned me as well but I saw the writing on the wall so I took advantage and covered my rear end with a live bet on Virginia to get in the green.

I through a little feeler at AZ State in the first quarter at 0-0 to turn it all into a profitable day

In regard to your winning of $23. A win is a win. Got to feel good about that regardless of the amount Money went your way,not the other way. I am in your betting league. Just a small amount "investor".

I live in Missouri, which does not yet have legal sports betting, so I have to venture over to Kansas once or twice a week just to use the Caesars app. Once I'm back in Missouri, I'm pretty much locked into my bets. I can't really hedge or use the early cash out options. Therefore, for the most part, I don't really risk much. The amounts are small enough that it would cost more in time and gas to go back to Kansas to try to "save" that bet than to just let the chips fall where they may.

There is a casino over on the Kansas side that has a live betting window and a bunch of self serve kiosks. They are running a promotion this NFL season that if you bet a minimum of $10 each week, for all 18 weeks, then in January they will add either $1,000 in free slot play or $2,000 in free food comps to your player's card. So I've been making those bets for myself and "helping" 2 other people by providing the money and telling them what to bet. Through week 5, I was still $6.30 to the good, but San Francisco and Philadelphia both burned me last week and I lost all 3 bets, so I'm now down $23.70 on the year for that, but a third of the way to $6,000 in overpriced casino food. Lol

That is some deal the casino offered. Once the amount is credited is there a time limit to use up the freebies? Once I won $750.00 in free play at a casino and had to use it up in 2 days. The free play prize only cost me $436,000.00 LOL.

Count- I go to Dodge to place my bets at their kiosks, because if I had an I phone account I think I would be placing a bet every 5 minutes.
Plus I get $25 free play 4 times per month and eat free at the casino so I usually go every Saturday during football season.
    Good luck on your bets!

i rarely bet the spread in the NFL, but i felt good about the Browns so i decided to lay the short number (-2). i thought, surely they wouldn't eff with me and win by a single point, would they? would they?!?

    😅 😅 😅 😅 😅

and how about that #1 ranked Cleveland D getting shredded all game long by Indy......making Gardner Minshew look like Johnny U like I feared they might

I thought you were good after their first drive. Gross that you didn't hit this

But to make you feel better I played a $20 "Special" that draft kings offered, Lamar Jax, Hurts, Tyreek Hill and Bijan Robinson to score td's at +950 odds boosted, little did I know they offered this because Bijan Robinson was dealing with an illness and rarely played so Ofcourse he was the only one that didn't play and the Falcons had 2 easy goaline opportunities for him and he wasn't on the field for either of them

Also they had a TE day special for boosted odds so I played a $25 bet on the Knox to be the first TE to score a TD for the 1pm games that would have payed $275 and he scores first but the Bills get flagged for PI so they take it away and I lose yet again

Very annoying afternoon so your not alone

The casino is Hollywood Casino at the Kansas Speedway. It is a Penn Gaming property. As far as I know, they will deposit the $1,000 into my Penn Play account, which can then be used for slot play or converted to Penn Cash to be used for food, etc. The conversion is $1 of Penn Play equals $2 of Penn Cash. As long as the player is in good standing with both the casino and the gaming commission, I don't believe the accrued amount on the players card will expire.

FYI - Penn Gaming is the company that bought Barstool Sports from David Portnoy several years ago for something like $500,000,000, only to sell it back to him recently for $1 and 50% of any future profits from a second sale, as they try to distance themselves from him and start a gambling platform partnership with ESPN. It was big news when it happened, but I'm still waiting for them to rid the casino of the Barstool name and logo and start promoting their affiliation with ESPN.

Cashed a few parlay sheets. Came out ahead for once. Not a great amount, but enough to keep going. Better than the massacre last week. My Nascar bet is live. Bell made the final 4 with his win Sunday. My other bet, Truex can still get in. Got no action today. Housebound with the flu.

it was the worst kind of wager to lose. after Philly blew down the field on the opening drive and kicked a FG, it was a slow torture for 3.5 quarters. i don't think much of Miami's defense, thus i felt confident that Philly would be knocking on the door early and often. and they did. except they blew it down every drive after that. when you run bad the worst-case scenario finds a way to creep into your mind, and i had thought about that outcome long before it happened.

sorry about your close misses............it's really gross to lose wagers in that fashion

if last week almost sent me to the funny farm, i can only imagine what this week is going to do -- 9 out of 13 lines opened at a FG or less. basically grab your balls and flip a coin.

but i did spot a short line i like. the Colts stink at home, Watson might be back, Minshew sucked last week, and Cleveland's stellar D showed me what they are capable of when they chewed Brock Purdy up and spit him out. hoping for a repeat on Sunday. back to 500 if i'm wrong.

This is the type of game that gives me pause. It's one of those too logical picks. Cleve. upsets SF. Goes on the road as a fav. against a poor team missing their starting QB. I hope for your bet, logic wins out. Best of luck my friend.

I needed the Colts and they covered by one. Just made it. Sorry you had the bad beat. We've all been there.

This makes complete sense on that garbage Bijan Robinson no show, it pisses me off not that I lost but Draft Kings probably knew ahead of time about Robinson not playing and took advantage of it by offering that prop bet, again I don't mind losing straight up but this is dirty crap if they knew ahead of time and posted that prop bet 🤬

I’m not to sure if that is exactly the right thing to do. I think all bets should be refunded. If they don’t refund all bets it means that they could only collect and there was no possibility of winning the wager. Just saying

The message i received as you can see they claim they will refund all the bets that would have won if all other players scored, I got 3 out of the 4 with Bijan not scoring but your right they should refund everyone's bets with him involved

Not a great weekend for me. I hit one of my parlays but still lost just under $300 on the NFL games. Glad I hit at least one, as I added a bunch after the 1pm games since so many of my parlays got trounced by G Davis, London, DJ Moore, and A Cooper having mediocre games.

Normally for parlays, if one of the players is a scratch they just remove that player from your parlay and change the odds. For example, I had DJ Metcalf in a bunch of parlays and when he didn't play they just removed that particular leg from the overall parlay. They should have changed the odds based on Bijan not playing and then paid out for those that hit the 3 other TD scorer legs.

This week I kept it simple, I picked one game that I liked the odds best and put it all on that game instead of spreading risk…..
And it was Vikings -1 vs. Packers.
Paid off thanks to Vikings defense.

I heard Mahomes is dealing with the flu, and that he’s possibly feeling better today. Go Chiefs!

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 30,636 ✭✭✭✭✭

Well I just knew I had to cover the last leg of my bet, I was poised to win $270, Houston just had to win but knowing gambling and the NFL I wasn't falling for the nonsense so I covered my rear end and took Houston so I would at least finish in the Green

Thanks fellas. I got another round Robin parlay which includes KC Ofcourse so I obviously threw a dirty 50 spot on the Denver ML because I have learned this lesson far too many times.

I stand to make $140 if KC wins or $65 if Denver wins

KC sucked today. Mahomes and everyone on the offense.
Defense was okay they were holding Denver to 14 points until Hardman fumbled a punt on his own 5 yard line and the Broncos scored off it. Then it was desperation mode and the O line couldn’t stop the pass rush.
On to next week I just want to forget this one.

Just a note, but I’ll be taking some time off from the boards. Sometimes people wonder what happened if you’ve been posting regularly then stop so just an advance notice.
It’s just not as fun posting on I phone I don’t know how to post pics, memes, copy and paste or anything. I couldn’t even post my completed grid on immaculate grid or whatever it’s called. Also almost got in big trouble scrolling down and accidentally hitting lol on a very serious thread. 😫May get a new computer for Christmas from myself and come back.
