nice hits fellas. i'm gonna have to wake up on Sunday morning and watch Minny/N.O. to see if i can follow suit lol

for those who didn't see the game last night, it was a scary scene with Tua. this gigantic Bengal DT swung him to the ground and banged the back of his head on the turf. it caused a neurological reaction and Tua's hands were frozen in front of his face with his fingers splayed

the NFL continues to be a POS money-grubbing entity that won't think twice about prostituting its best product. it'll be a minor miracle if that kid doesn't develop CTE from what has happened to him in the past week alone

Trap game? Cinn, 1-2, fav. over Miami, 3-0, and Miami coming off win over top seed Buffalo.

I was thinking about taking Cincy but it really depends on Tua, there is no question that he didn't clear the concussion protocol last week

He got up shaking his head to clear the cobwebs. Staggered a few feet and buckled. No way he returns. So the team doctors say he staggered because of a back injury? What BS. I’ve seen plays stopped for much much less and the player remained in concussion protocol for an entire week. Tua trotted out and played the entire 2nd half.
So I guess if you say you hurt your back, privates, butt you can beat the protocol. BS

And he gets another one, hope the kid is ok

And brain trauma in the exact same spot. It’s criminal what the doctors did just because they played Buffalo. I hope they fire everyone involved and Tua sues the shit out of all of them.

Tua is to blame as well, he could have told them to pound sand rather than go back in.

Just because they failed to protect Tua from himself doesn't mean Tua isn't part of the bad decision

Is 8:30 am considered a Prime Time game? If so take the kids lunch money and go all in.
My favorite play Sunday. Lions blow out the Seahawks. It’s time for them to stop fooling around with one score games.
    Lions-3.5 for 100
    Packers-9.5 for 100

Raiders are 0-3 ATS this year. Do they make it 0-4 even though the Broncos are no juggernaut? I think so.
I’m sure I posted this somewhere
    Justin Fields
    23-45 297 yards 2 TD 4 INT
    Through 3 games.

    @2dueces

in the red was precisely where i was prior to this past weekend. if Minny hadn't pulled that game out in London, which could have easily happened, i'd still be stuck. i propose that us action guys (@perkdog, @BLUEJAYWAY, @Darin et al.) continue to hit the ball back and forth over the net in this thread. different thoughts, perspectives and viewpoints can only help. and as always, i'll continue to post my wagers once i make them..................for what they are worth, which is often times south of zero.

    (gl tonight perk)

  • DarinDarin Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭✭✭

I forgot to post my picks but I had.....

KU +3.5 over Iowa State (KU won 14-11, I thought it would be an offensive battle not defensive but glad for the win)
Chiefs +1 (sort of a bet with the heart because I did not like what Shaq Barrett said about the KC O-line and it
was good bulletin board material, found out after the game the Chiefs were definitely motivated by his comments)
Rams +1.5 (I don't even know why the Rams are the underdogs)

One I didn't bet on that I thought at the time was a good bet was Cowboys and I think it was -3.5
I guess I didn't bet on them because they let me down first week of the season but they had no
trouble with the inept Commandeers or whoever.

Turned the TV off after the opening KO in the TB/KC game. Had TB, and saw this as a bad omen. Checked in with 3 mins. to go. And Sunday when TT could only come up with 2 FG off those BB turnovers in the first half, I figured this would come back to haunt them. I went with Dallas as the karma was good with Cooper. Play until he loses. I like the "Holy Ghost" angle in wagering. Three in a row. Doesn't always work, but just as good as any other "system". Best of luck to all for week #5.

Galaxy, that might be the way to play it this upcoming weekend.
The only spread that really stands out to me is Titans -2.5 over the Commodores.
The Titans have been playing good football the last couple weeks and let's face it
the Commodores look like their focus isn't really on football anymore.

precisely. the Broncos are favored, so if you simply choose to bet on them to win the game, like i am, then you must wager more than the potential payout. conversely, a bet on the Colts tonight would result in a payout greater than the amount wagered if they were to win, because they are underdogs.

I keyed/took the points, 3 1/2, w/IND.on 3 sheets each with 1 over pick into Sunday. However,I did sweat out the win. It was an ugly win. For a pillow would you want one of those "My Pillow" brands one sees on TV or would a generic brand do? :)

Anyone else think the Titans-1 line is fishy?
I’d take the Titans-4 all day but this? I’m staying away.
Bills have a ton of injuries still but have allowed 7 second half points. Might take them a half to figure out Pickett but he throws 3 more pics. Bills romp. They don’t look past this game. Last year in Jacksonville is fresh on their minds.
Steelers score twice Not sure if it’s 6 or 10.
    Bills romp 37-10
    Bills -14 for 200
    2 team teaser for 50
    Giants +15
    Lions +9

very nice hit on Buffalo and very nice score prediction dueces. if Pittsburgh scores one damn touchdown you would have practically nailed it.

i think you guys will get a kick out of this. yesterday i decided to set foot in my sportsbook's casino, which, by the way, is something i wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy because they are all rigged. but i went ahead and decided to play one $5 hand of blackjack. i miraculously won, so i then thought to myself, why not use this "free" 5 bucks to quasi-hedge my parlay. so i compiled this insanity. all i need is for darin's team to run a strong anchor leg tomorrow night.

  • DarinDarin Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭✭✭

Deuces, great call on the Bills, I wouldn't have had to sweat it out if I had bet on that
    one instead of Titans -1.5
Washington had 1st and goal on the 2 yard line and couldn't get it in for the win. Wentz got picked on third down
so I was lucky to win that bet.
Lost my Chargers bet but wasn't for near as much so had a good day.

BTW- I've said this before, Brandon Staley is a complete dunce. if Browns had made field goal
Chargers would have lost again on a bone headed decision by Staley.

    I got to vent

My gambling luck has been astounding in the horrible sense. Like really ridiculous.

Last week I had multiple games with alternate spreads and got burned with taking the Rams +14, they were driving and I had the game won until Stafford threw that moronic pass and the pick 6 by SF destroyed my 100 bet

This week same deal except Drtroit plus 16 and 16.5

I lose both bets for a total of 150

Friday night I played poker for hours and could not get a hand better than 2 pair, lost 200

I need to figure this out, it's honestly confusing to me how bad my luck is

I'm just playing with extra money, financially I'm more than great but I do enjoy gambling but it's getting to the point where it's just not even fun, again it's short money but still it sucks to be so horrible at something that is fun

    Anyways, rant over lol

have the day off so i've had an inordinate amount of time to generate ideas in my degenerate head. i've literally been talking to myself all day.

"outside of the Chiefs turning the ball over 4 times, can i make a case for the Raiders tonight?"

    "i just can't."

so i wanted to stick more on KC. question was, how. there's no value in the ML and i didn't want to mess with the spread, so the idea that kept coming to the forefront of my mind was teasing both the line and the O/U down and taking the over. all i needed was some type of confirmation. voila, @2dueces just posted the exact same bet on his thread. :D

sorry brother, here comes the kiss of death 😂

  • DarinDarin Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭✭✭

That game is why I like to bet the moneyline when I don't like the spread.
And when the Chiefs beat the Raiders there's no way I want to lose money because of the spread.
Congrats to galaxy looks like that $5 bet paid off as well as the teaser bet for you and deuces.

Next week there is no way I'm betting on the Chiefs-Bills game. I'm just going to watch and enjoy
it with no money on the line.

i can't even begin to tell you how fortunate i feel. i just knew dueces and i were dead in the water when KC punted the ball back to Vegas for that final drive. if Davante Adams gets his second foot down, the Raiders win that game in all likelihood and i'm stuck $250+ on the season. instead, almost back to where i started. time to get back in the black and stay there.

i feel very good about the wager below, and that scares me a little. both teams are ranked in the top 7 in scoring defense, and i honestly think the Cowboys can win this game outright so i'll gladly take ten and a half

I'm really undecided on the Bears- Commodes game on the NFL picks contest.
I have a feeling this might be the game where Wentz goes off with 400 yards passing and 4 or 5 TD's.
Don't know about this one. Definitely not wagering any money on it.

For my bets this week I'm thinking....

    Baltimore moneyline -245 over Giants
    Dallas +6.5
    Chargers -5

Tempted to take the Chiefs at +2.5 but don't have much confidence in our defense
being able to stop the Bills. More tempted to take the over on points which I think is 54.
