Good luck buddy!!
I appreciate you keeping this thread going, my self imposed betting ban will be lifted soon, I'm thinking it will be to the tune of taking the 34 points with Navy against Notre Dame in Ireland to kick off the NCAA football season
so unbelievably disgusted with myself right now. literally had my hand on the mouse two minutes prior to Colorado-TCU kicking off, and i couldn't bring myself to move my index finger. if i had, i would have won over 700$. i couldn't have come closer to betting on Colorado to win outright without actually doing so. the feeling that Prime was going to do something special in his first game at CU -- even as 3-touchdown dogs -- overwhelmed me. but i couldn't pull the trigger.
i guarantee you that is the last time that shit will happen this entire football season. if i have a hard lean, i'm going full bore.

A guy I work with threw a $20 dart at it with stupid ML Odds and told me about it beforehand, I’m annoyed for not doing that instead of wasting a few $20 on other random no feeler games
Wasn’t meant to be brother.
My buddy got smacked hard on the Michigan point spread so you’re not the only one annoyed.
When I make a mistake similar to yours, it sours me for awhile and I pullback as I feel I used up my luck. Did it with Hovland in golf where he won the FedEx ship. Played him in first match for top 10. Last 2 days he bogeys the 18th. Double on Saturday, single on Sunday. Misses by 1. Let my emotions rule and threw him out for his next 2 wins. I had planned to bet him and Zalatoris each week all year. I can sympathize with you. The woulda shoulda bug bites us all on occasion. Hang in there. Will be rooting for you with your play. The best part of this play is Draft Kings offered a special for this game that if the team you bet goes up 7 points you win your bet right then and there
@perkdog kindly explain this to a loooooooozer who lives in a state that allows him to play daily fantasy all day on DK, but gets his ankles broken if he tries to set foot in the sportsbook. so if KC wins the toss and houses one on the first drive, you cash? or is up a touch at ANY point in the game? man that almost seems too good to be true!

Yep it's a straight up Special on the DK sports book app.
At ANY time during the game if KC goes up by 7 points the bet is won right then and there even if they go on to lose the game.
They usually max it out at 20,50 or 100 bucks. This one is $100
They run different specials throughout the season and especially during the start of the season to get people who don't bet other than NFL to dust the cobwebs off their app and get back into the action.
Sucks to be u Der the thumb of fantasy only, I live in NH so I been good but once I stepped into Massachusetts I couldn't bet until they legalized early this year.
not exactly thrilled about my over bet ^ now that Kelce has been ruled out, but that's what I get for parking money early in the week. maybe I'll get lucky and it'll still be a shootout.

I really like this play, tough to back KC without Kelce against this supposed up and coming Lions team but I hit it early in the week as well so lessons learned
this is a fascinating game, and therefore a fascinating bet. i read where this game has pulled in more wagers than all other NFL games on this slate this weekend combined, and the entire world is riding Colorado. yet here's the incredibly interesting part: the line has moved from CU -3.5 to -2.5. so everyone and their dog is betting on the Buffs, yet the line is shrinking? things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. on its face, this seems like a slam dunk -- a tidal wave of momentum at the first home game for Coach Prime and the upstart Buffs against a team that couldn't even beat Minnesota (of all teams) last week. but something is in play here. i just don't know what. i may find out if i lose 140$, lol.

Look I was happy for Deion and his son for the incredible performance last week.BUT it was like they won the national championship for God sakes, a little too much talking, I think Deion should have said something like "We are on to the next game" to keep his kids grounded.
IDK I'm not sure if I want to touch it but for whatever reason I don't think I can not lol

@perkdog glad you had a profitable day, even with my shitty team screwing you. what did you have tied to the Pats-Eagles under to get almost 2:1?
i hate the Packers -- like i legit hate them -- but i have to give credit where credit is due: today they looked like a team that will once again ascend to the top of the NFC once the new signal caller gets settled in. their D is stout and Jordan Love was impressive.
as for the Bears, i saw no improvement from last year after all of the offseason moves we made. no pass rush, no playmakers on D, a pedestrian running game at best, Fields was under duress all game long and did nothing to dispel the notion that he's not a passing quarterback. really disconcerting. for the past 30 years we've been Green Bay's bitch, and in my heart of hearts i thought things were going to change starting today -- for a number of reasons. i was very wrong; just more of the same.

I was down 150 or so and was just going to leave it be and not bet anymore and when the Eagles went up 16-0 I happened to be on the DK app and the O/U was at 49.5 so I was thinking the Pats D is solid and the O isn't so I liked that number for the under and threw $200 at it.
Ofcourse I sweated it out in the 4th quarter big time
The Bears looked awful, Fields was under siege all game and the D made Love look like Rodgers.
last season i brought up inexplicable line movements in NFL games, the end results, and a possible correlation between said line movements and said end results. i'm not going to go so far as to say there is something nefarious going on at any point this season. i'm simply going to point out specific examples of what i've been referring to and instead admit that someone out there knows something i don't. perhaps there are large sharks who simply know how to handicap games better than i do, idk. but what i do know is that blindly tailing the money flow for the two examples below -- even when it made zero sense to me -- would have been more effective than my own personal strategy for week #1, which was quite ineffective.
i think this will be a fun, thought-provoking exercise over the course of the season. here we go.
behind door #1 we have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Minnesota Vikings. quick, raise your hand if you predicted Tampa winning outright? heck, raise your hand if you predicted that they'd hang? opening line: Minny by 5.5. kickoff: Minny by 4.
final score: Tampa 20, Minnesota 17.
door #2: Rams at Seahawks. same song, different verse: opening line was Seattle by 5.5, it closed at 4 when the ball went into the air. final score: Rams 30, Seahawks 13.

That’s fine Galaxy but don’t forget Colorado-Nebraska. You told us the line went from CU -3.5 to -2.5 and said it looked like ‘something was in play’. But CU blew them away.
So the ‘big money’ was incorrect.
So to be impartial you would also have to let us know when the game went the opposite of the line.
Or are you just saying nfl and it doesn’t apply to ncaa. If so I do remember times last year and I think I brought it up that the same thing as cu- nu happened in nfl also.

something WAS in play. I said I didn't know what it was. I watch lines intently. for 4 days prior to Colorado-Nebraska, the line went from -3.5 to -2.5. sportsbooks took a BEATING on that game, because bettors POUNDED the Buffs. yet the line sunk in the days leading up to the game? does that not constitute something being up in your world? I'm more than happy for you to elucidate MY world if you have a plausible explanation
Meanwhile in the horse racing world, speaking of manipulation. There is a proven story of betting pool manipulation at Prairie Meadows horse track. You can check out the Horse Racing Nation site for details. Also there are betting syndicates who are dumping millions with seconds till post time crashing the odds. Bettors are betting when their horse is 3-1 only to see the odds reduced to 9-5. So other sport betting has their oddities as well.

Sorry I was mixed up in my post. Didn’t sleep last night so my thinking is even more suspect than usual.
I see what you’re saying, heavy betting on CU but the line keeps moving in the direction that it’s even more enticing to bet on them.
I said bettors were incorrect but of course won big on CU.
Looks like a big screw up by the sports books not moving the line the other way to get more money on Nebraska.
