Morant was ruled out tonight and i'm tilting ever so slightly

That one bites, they got blown out WTH

NBA might be less logical than NFL 😡

that one was a winner. I was steaming about the C's game, so I immediately looked to see if there were any other games scheduled. I noticed that the Grizzlies-Kings game had swung 4 points in favor of Sacramento (due to Morant not playing), so I decided to swim with the sharks

who are you feeling this weekend? my gut says to ride the two best teams I saw play last weekend (Cincy and Philly)

Oh I must have read the scores wrong or something, glad I was wrong lol

Before Mahomes got hurt I was all about KC and SF but now I'm thinking Cincy, Burrow looks so poised and the Cincy team has a massive chip on their shoulder so being honest even without Mahines injury I'd probably lean towards Cincy regardless.

Philly beat up on the fraudulent Giants, but they have a D that might be slightly below Dallas but in my opinion the Offense is far better, I think if Philly can pressure Purdy they could disrupt that offense, I could see Hurts running for a hundred yards in this game, but I think the rest of the offense will be held to under 20 points, I think it all depends on how you feel about SF offense and Philly and their D

I'm leaning towards Cincy vs SF

perk i'm going with the two teams that looked the best last weekend and i'm giving them points

SF and Philly are both playing at a high level on the defensive side of the ball, thus i ultimately think it's going to come down to which quarterback can make the most plays. that's a no-brainer imo. mr. irrelevant-turned-relevant is going to face his stiffest challenge yet. the Eagles had 15(!) more sacks than the next best defense this season. they are absolutely going to pin their ears back and go after this kid. can he make enough plays to win on the road in a hostile environment with a super bowl berth on the line? i say no. it won't be easy for Hurts either, but i like his chances of having a better game. a good quarterback would have beaten the Niners last weekend. this weekend they're playing one.

as for Cincy-KC, a number of different signs point toward a Bengals win. first, Burrow owns Mahomes. 3 games, 3 wins. second, they looked like juggernauts last weekend against the Bills. third, the obvious injury. i heard a couple of former players who have experienced high-ankle sprains before say that the best Mahomes can realistically expect to be come Sunday is 60%. could he turn into Superman and pull it off? of course he could. but i'm riding the trend until it breaks. and besides, if KC wins by 5 or more then that means our friend Darin's team is going to the SB and that will mitigate the sting.

I'm definitely taking Cincy, logically what your saying all makes sense.

I'm almost ready to put something in, I will keep you updated

SF D scares me but so doesn't Purdy being under pressure which I'm sure Philly will be pressing to do.

I wish it was easy lol

Galaxy….. could you explain that golf bet? Does one of those players have to win for you to collect?
I’ve never bet on golf before I don’t understand the “vs the field” part or the “+120 for game” part. 🤔

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭✭✭

Last weekend I put a bet on Connor Mcdavid to lead the NHL in goals.
Odds were -150 and he was leading by 4 goals, now down to 3 goals.

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 30,845 ✭✭✭✭✭

Being brutally honest with myself I sincerely cannot settle on who I feel over the top with winning on Sunday, like this is getting to be the hardest thing to pick winners where there is decent money to win so I'm going against my better judgment and going with some dart throws. With the ML and spread field being basically even this is my first dart,

    More to come

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 8,044 ✭✭✭✭✭

@Darin correct. one of those guys has to win the golf tournament for me to win my bet (dropped $100 to win $120)

@perkdog all you need is a bunch of 4th and less-than-a-yard scenarios & no idiot head coaches and that's a winner! :D

I’m feeling good, we have a leader on the Chiefs who only wants to win and he’s making us fans feel really proud of him right now.
I’m betting on Mahomes and KC.
Perk mentioned the bengals have a big chip on their shoulder but the chiefs have an even bigger one from losing last years game.
I don’t think Cincys offensive line is as good as they looked against the bills. We need to get consistent pressure on burrow.

    I really hope so.

It's pretty much the norm now to go for it on 4th, also if a team is down late that adds to the chances of a 4th down completion especially if the D is in dime prevent ect..

    Galaxy so we’re both happy!
I won all my bets, I had eagles and chiefs moneyline separate bets and also a moneyline parlay with both teams.
For the super bowl I’m pretty sure I’ll just put a small bet on KC moneyline. 😎

I can lock in a profit for the supèr bowl. Before the season started I bet
$100 to win $1100 for the chiefs winning the super bowl. So I can hedge that bet by betting $400-500 on Philly and lock in a nice return on investment no matter who wins. 😎

Before I saw the Bengals Chiefs game, but after the Eagles, I couldn't see either of those teams beating the Eagles. But as the game went on I saw a lot in KC that made me think they might win the SB. Do they expect to be better off skill position wise for the SB.

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 8,044 ✭✭✭✭✭

    damn perk, oh so close!

well done darin and congrats on the chiefs bro!

i had a very good and adventurous gambling weekend. on saturday night an idiot ref in the Lakers-Celtics game handed me a win i didn't deserve and completed the back end of my parlay, then on sunday the Eagles won with ease and the football gods honored my request of the Chiefs winning by 3, and the icing on the cake was waking up to this -- Rory dunking one on 18 for the win over in Dubai while i was sleeping

what a tumultuous ride this has been. it took me about 3 months to gain ANY traction, but as we head toward the Super Bowl i'm up to $885.71 now

    parlay du jour

i'll say one thing about betting on NBA games: it is never boring. sooo many insane swings. a team can be up by 15 and after you're done sneezing they're behind. last night i had the Sixers -- arguably the hottest team in the league since Dec 1 -- tied into a parlay and they had a 21-point lead at home against the 19-31 Magic. a couple of hours later i pulled up the final score to see how many points Philly had won by......................and they lost by 10 lol.

so naturally i'm back on the bull without a helmet tonight, and i've included KU and K-State in @Darin 's honor!

even the scheduling in the NBA is interesting. two days ago the Sixers did me all sorts of wrong by blowing a massive lead and ultimately losing to Orlando at home, and here we are two days later and Philly is......wait for it......once again playing Orlando at home.

almost as if the NBA is saying to me, "that was really unfortunate the other night, galaxico, so here, try again"

ok thank you. don't mind if i do.

darin actually brought up a very important point and i'm glad he did. sticking in an NBA wager without checking the injury report is gambling suicide. there have been so many instances already this season of needle-movers being game-time decisions, and their availability (or unavailability) has been the difference in an outcome.
