Amazing - where are all these Woolworth rolls coming from that are suddenly appearing? There’s another Morgan dollar auction on eBay. This one’s a bid with a different seller than the BIN ended a couple days ago.
I made an offer for this piece; it’s one of two @ this grade level. I used to own the other one years ago. It’s a cash + trade involving the coin below:
Bottom line is a 65RB + $$$$ for a 66BN. The seller prefers all $$$$ but I can’t justify owning both. In his opinion, his coin is a 66+/67. When comparing to the other 66BN, I can’t agree with him. I’ll be sure to post the outcome either in this thread or the new purchases one (if he accepts my offer).
Update: 5/28 - deal reached. Price reduced by a good amount & I keep the RB. All $$$$ to the seller. Nice deal!
I've been putting coins in my "new" albums... here's Volume II for Large Cents... I'll likely be sending a few of these to our hosts next month at Baltimore...
Collecting: Dansco 7070; Middle Date Large Cents (VF-AU); Box of 20;
I woke up on this particular Saturday morning with a crick in my back. My dog (who sleeps in bed with me) had gas. When she saw I was up she got REAL close and started salivating. This is her way of telling me I overslept her breakfast time. I went into the throne room and solved the NY Times Hard Sudoku. Then it was off to the kitchen where I made coffee and fed the dog (in that order!!!) Now, sipping on a steamin' mug o'joe and noshing on my weekend treat of cinnamon rolls, I'm here looking at your coins. Happy long weekend y'all!
Recently, I upgraded my 1815 Capped Bust quarter from a 58 to a MS65+
Both coins are Pcgs and CAC'd. Happy Memorial Day to everyone and remember our fallen heroes that gave their lives to help our country be great.
Woke up to 5am (local) banter on my text messages from BHNC members ... who will remain nameless but who need to buy coffees and have them delivered first next time!
So, since it was a BHNC wakeup, here's a Bust Half (reverse first) for the Nuts among us
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”
Good morning, folks. Gorgeous weather here in the Mid Atlantic with mild temps and low humidity. Maybe about another week of this before the sticky heat sets in. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
All MS 1871’s are tough dates. In RD, they’re less available than the key date 1877. Couple this with a rare subset - the Shallow N reverse. There’s even more with this coin. Most of the Shallow N’s are S-5; this one’s a S-4. So, a rare subset of a rare subset!
A bit wistful today over the Red Eye. I’ve posted a couple times about my quest for the early Walkers (1916-1921). I’m halfway there but only 2 of the 10 remaining are what I would call “available” - 1920 & 1917-D obv. I once owned the coin below, which imo is #2 of the 20 on the tough date scale. Wistful because I wish I still owned it!
To obtain one as nice now is a lot more $$$ than back then. Yup, wistful.
Coffee and looking at the fabulous 1860 Seated Lib' @Inspired70 posted and that lovely 21-D Walker from @rnkmyer1 is exactly what I needed this morning!
Nothing new or old to share this morning, but couldn't stay away from a check-in

Speaking of coffee, HA mentioned coffee in this coin's auction description.
1851 50C VF35 PCGS. Delicate mocha-gray toning reveals a few pale-blue accents. Pleasingly detailed for the grade assigned with only trifling flaws, as befits the Choice VF designation. Population: 2 in 35, 51 finer (8/08).
Having a cup on the porch with my faithful pup, and going over some Civil War tokens in the collection.
Although common, this one can get expensive in uncirculated condition. Especially ones with colorful toning like this:
Toys, fancy goods, fishing tackle and rare coins...what more can a man ask for? 😆
Have a happy Saturday, all. Stay caffeinated!

Pondering over a cup of Joe why this didn’t get the nod for a plus on a recent reconsideration, formerly in a NGC 67FS holder. She beautiful in hand and the plate coin.

Looking through that grouping of raw Peace dollars would be a treat. Have fun doing so.
And,........................ kudos to you on having well groomed and manicured fingernails.
As you are aware there are many photos of persons holding coins in their hands, with ugly, dirty fingers and fingernails.

I've never sold on Ebay. Maybe someone that does might see them on BST and decide to buy and resell them there.
