Nothing from me yet, but I saw we needed a thread. What will @UFFDAH get this month!

Dropped into my LCS. They haven’t had any new vintage stuff come in for 4-6 months or so and I was pleasantly surprised to see some new acquisitions. I picked this up beauty for $25. I’ve learned to not get my hopes up with grades but I can’t find anything wrong with this card.
Picked up a few cards recently. I had these Soto's before but sold them when they were higher in price. Then prices dropped to a new low and I figured, what the heck, might as well add them back into the collection while they are really cheap.
Nolan.... low pop. Tiffany 1/23
I love 1984 Topps Tiffany, especially the way the blue stands out on the back against the bright white card stock. I just got a Wade Boggs back from PSA as a Mint 9.
By the way, has anyone ever really looked at Boggs' minor league stats? The guy spent SIX SEASONS in the minors, despite putting up big numbers every year. Boggs could have challenged for 4000 hits if he were promoted earlier like players are today.
Hard to see any problems with that one. Centering looks perfect. Seems like a steal for $25!
My 3rd 1979 rack pack with Roger Staubach on top arrived yesterday, can't get enough of that card
Then these 2 cellos showed up
Congrats! That's one heck of a week for a guy that has his main collecting focus around the 1979 Roger Staubach!
PC Walter Payton - Bear Down!
Thanks Jake, couldn't have done it without your help! You are right though, in one week I ended up with more 1979 Staubach's than I've seen for sale all year.
The 1975 Seaver is awesome. unless i missed something should be a 9. Maybe a 10. Heck an 8.5 would do.
Another one for my Frank Robinson set.

Oddball pick up! 1996 Batman master series! There’s a Joker Chromium card in this (I think), that’s absolutely sick! I’m holding off ripping it.. for now..
What the heck. Added an ‘86 vending case to my ‘86 wax case!
just a few of the stash that i picked up this month
I actually got these two a couple of days ago but wanted to wait for a more fortuitous time to post them
Two HOFers and a guy I hope joins them soon.
@GDM67 Two HOFers - with the one that didn't play for the Braves being a longtime Braves announcer (which I'm sure you're aware of) - ties the theme together even better.
Hello fellow Card Geeks!!
Here's a Babe Ruth addition - its a Pop 5 with only one higher!
1979 Football BBCE Rack, How Cool is That!
Just Awesome!
Well done!

I really like the 1967 Topps.

WOW that's a great Ruth!
So either prices are dropping some or I got it cheap cause the seller ran it as a private auction and scared people off. Same card sold 3 weeks ago for $400 and I paid nowhere near that. Moved me up to #5 on the 81 Steelers set.
No way for Fleer to know that at the time but it wound up being a nice piece of synergy. I'm a little surprised that none of the companies featured Phil and Steve Carlton together when they were both pitching for the Tribe in '86.
I hadn't particularly cared for Don much when he was active but I really grew to love him as a broadcaster. Like most quality SPs (Blyleven, Kaat, Palmer, Seaver) he was really good at imparting the cerebral aspects of pitching.
Babe Ruth ~Sequel~
@UFFDAH ........ I'm a little put out you couldn't come up w/ the NM-MT 8.......
This Frank for my set.

Picked up a nice Aaron special. Have always loved these because they were my first time seeing Topps designs from before 1973…
fresh! for me and my son.
I found a hoard of 215 photo that looked like they would have been used by Topps production for the 1976 Topps Star Trek set. Type IV is a good thing in this case! Print from a dupe negative, that Topps would have had to obtain, Kodak seal on back with dates 1974 - 1975. These are exact image used by Topps for the set. These would be 1/1's in production print by Topps. Notice the photos are reversed from the 1976 Topps cards. I will always wonder if that was on purpose, or someone screwed up and printed the entire 1976 Topps Star Trek set in reverse by error!!! ha!
As time goes by, I will get about 10 more encased by PSA/DNA. The rest of the photos were not picked for the set. Some were close like a few frames off.
Fascinating!!!
Just back from PSA- Crosby's cards have jumped a lot in the last year, and for good reason. Happy to have this one in hand.

A couple of 71s from a set-break I was contacted about. Really happy to add these.
The rest are a departure for me - as you probably know from my posts I am primarily a vintage and baseball guy - however as a huge Bears fan figure the team has to hit on a QB someday. Am a fan of Fields from college and have really enjoyed getting some of his cards. I am likely not going to be willing to pay high enough when the higher demand sets come out. This has been really fun for me so far. Have another signed Origins on the way - not sure if I am finished or not but suspect I will continue to add more. Sometimes it is really fun to collect something different.
Arrived a few days ago. My son says it's his favorite card. I'll take it!
I do not do a ton of basketball. I have always loved this set and needed an Iverson RC for the pc
Had to pick this one up for my Mets auto collection.
Here's one with a colored border. Not the same card with six colored borders lol.

With this I have only one major hole left in my collection of post-war Hall of Very Good and other non HOF players rookies--Pete Rose. Not sure when I will be able to fill that one.
Just picked this funko pop exclusive today .. sits 1 foot tall.
Not cards, but a run of UCLA yearbooks from 63-68 which include 4 NCAA championships and feature Lou Alcindor, Walt Hazzard, Gail Goodrich, etc.

Went back to our 1 hour away discount store and found several items. Will start with one single pack of 2021 Heritage that was hidden in a box of all sorts of crap. Looks like first pack purchase since 2005 for me.
Was hoping for anything Braves but nada. Like the Clemente but nothing that I actually collect. Did get $3 worth of enjoyment opening it.
Looking up at the Gretzky Funko (cool item BTW) I also found a few for myself.
Billy is a wee bit rough but these were all 50% off of regular retail.
Bought this because Samuel L. Jackson.
And a record for $11.99. Passed on it last time we were there and after researching it I it hoped they still had it.
Looks like an average of $25-$30. I'll just leave it sealed.
And just for pop-tarts and giggles.
At 60 cents I couldn't pass it up.

I love these! I've got a full run of Roger Staubach yearbooks from Navy and 3 Gary Carter high school yearbooks, such cool stuff.
great pickups!
I'm curious as to what other cards belong in the Hall of Very Good collection. Separate thread?
Upgrade for my Niekro master set.
It would probably turn into one of those unreadable threads full of the same old arguments (over/under of 3 posts before someone says Harold Baines is HoVG and the Hall of Fame is watered down), but I will think about starting one. In the meantime, I basically use two cheats for the non-HOFers in my collection: players with over or very close to a 100 hall rating on hallofstats.com and players who have received significant attention from the BBWAA or a veterans committee. I still have several to pick up but the Rose will be the last very expensive one.

My son was home sick today, so I decided to bust open my 1996 Skybox Batman master series box! Bought this for the sole purpose of the card below:
It’s one of 2 Chrome cards that come in each box! It was a SUPER fun rip, explaining all the Supervillains and some their origins to him too! Here’s a couple more highlights from the box:
Wow…scary stuff…your son feels better…I may not sleep too well tonight!!!…(but I love them…thanks for sharing)!
