Stopped back and went through his .50 - $5 bin and pulled out a few cards .. the one card is a stitched card

Very excited by the arrival of this excellent piece of baseball ephemera; this postcard depicts the teams that played in Tokyo, headlined by the American All Stars featuring Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx and Connie Mack among many other American League stars, whose facsimile signatures adorn the cards and help to identify them. A marvelous piece of history and a nice companion for my Babe Ruth card from the same tour…

sorry to jump in so soon after last post of pics.. had package of card arrive today in mail.. didnt think they would arrive till december but they only took 9 days to get to me after being shipped .. mixed lot of baseball that I won on ebay auction .. 1958-1982 . was for 350 cards but i ended up getting about 500 .
A bit outta my norm, but with my kid in baseball, and the price tag on this, how could I say no? So far it’s been a really good read, and a lot of it surprisingly could be applied to a lot of major-leaguers today!
@Rofles I've always enjoyed picking up old Sports Illustrated, Sport Magazine, etc from garage sales, antique malls, and flea markets. The photography is a big draw, and the articles oftentimes contain little nuggets that seem to have been lost to history. One example is when I read that the Royals were one of the final teams in on Pete Rose's free agency when he left the Reds for the Phillies. Another was that the Royals and Orioles had discussed with some seriousness the parameters of a Jim Palmer trade in the early 70s. I had never heard either of those rumors before. Some of the print advertisements can be absurdly funny, too, when viewed through today's lens.

It’s definitely been a blast reading through it! Advertisements are definitely funny, AND I’ve learned SO MUCH too about players I love! I will definitely be going back to get others! Lol
Who wants to see some Disco/funk additions to my collection? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
Was described as all being VG+. Yeah, not quiet but price was cheap (shipping cost more then the records). Bonus is it features the famous American Werewolf in London, David Naughton.
Great job of packing. Opened it up and, HOLY SCHNIKES, a pizza!
Reality set in and no pizza. Just a stupid empty box.
Records in the lot with grades I gave
David Naughton - Makin It (VG+ needs cleaning but plays great)
Tasha Thomas – Shoot Me (With Your Love) 12inch single (VG+ after cleaning)
The Salsoul Orchestra - Up The Yellow Brick Road (VG+ Minimal noise in quieter sections CRC Columbia Record Club sticker on back/not listed on Discogs)
The Salsoul Orchestra - Salsoul Orchestra (VG+ Needs cleaning but plays with minimal noise)
Fever – Standing In The Shadows Of Love 12inch single (VG+ Needs cleaning. Label variation not listed on Discogs)
John Kasandra - Color Me Human (VG+ record/G+ Cover Mono Promo version/Cover shelf wear, 4 seam splits)
Kool And The Gang - Ladies Night (VG pops and clicks throughout. Visual defects as well)
Thelma Houston & Jerry Butler – Two To One (VG Crackles at the start but gets better as it plays)
Love Rock - Various (Ronco) (VG Snap, crackle and pop)
The Brothers Johnson – Blam!! (VG surface noise/clickety crackle in quiet sections)
The Brothers Johnson – Right On Time (G+ Lots of loud clicks but good sound when not being overpowered by the clicks)
Morris Jefferson – Spank Your Blank Blank 12inch single (Poor Scratches and scuffs/lots of noise. Label variation not on Discogs) from the album of the same name
Let my original one go around the time of his induction because prices were seemingly a little too crazy. Blind squirrel finds a nut and on this one, the price was right so I got this one to replace that one.

Bad experience a couple months back with a Seaver Rookie. Cleared that, and I was not deterred ....
This posted example makes it all worthwhile. Also added a tough, sharp and centered 1959 Ashburn. My second such card.

Finally got a 1984 to go with my 1985 & 1986 Tiffany Boggs'. Paid a pretty penny, but I offset the cost by selling a BGS 9.5 and a PSA 9. Glad I got in early last year with the 85 & 86's - those were $50 each. Plus, I have a really nice 1988 Tiffany currently in grading.
When 2021 Donruss Football Hobby opened up near $500. I vowed not to buy at that level. Well prices fell on Black Friday and I bought 2 boxes. I just opened up the first box and if this isn't a sign to stop - #001/299.
Another Mickey for me, this time a nice raw copy of a classic Mantle; an example of a card where eye appeal and price combined to make it too hard to ignore it on my watch list any longer, as the watchers just kept growing and making me more and more nervous that I would miss out on a nice card. Mickey's placement on the card sheet made it very prone to roller marks and print flaws and this card is not an exception. The card has a roller mark that obviously impacts it's appearance a little; it runs top to bottom through the bat, with dots in the border and lightness to the yellow in the name box. In addition, it's off center left to right but pretty solid top to bottom. Other than that? Pretty sharp in the other key card attributes, in hand especially, so I hope it also comes through in the scan. Anyhow, here's the latest grab...raw on the glass...comments welcomed.

Beautiful Mantle. All of the flaws have nothing to do with the quality of the photo. The color, focus , and corners are super. I just received one back from PSA similar to yours. Instead of the print line, mine has a small smuge at the top left. Mine got a 6 and I am super happy . I think yours could get a 7 , or mabe a 6.5 depending on the mood of the grader.

Before and after cleaning.
Pics of the lot.
The final 6 above were empty covers thrown in as padding.
Cool lot of stuff I didn't have with most being playable but such a crap shoot buying vinyl online.
Edited to add:
And this showed up today.
$4.14 delivered and fits my collecting needs just fine.

Love that 76 rack - favorite year as a kid and color is outstanding.
Bought this one last night - price was right and not sure why it is the grade it is but saved me a few $$.
Wow - super nice Mantle.

Ya they are tough for sure. 800 set means you get one every second box and I’ve ripped cases and never hit a real blazer

Got these back in August from the group sub, but just got around to scanning.
3 for my 1974 Topps Red Sox team set. It's a mix of PSA/DNA cards and unsigned PSA 9's. Here's a link to my showcase: https://www.psacard.com/psasetregistry/showcase/teams/dan-bs-74-topps-red-sox/2971
The Griffin above was a gift from @yankeesman and the other 2 above were TTM's.
The rest below were all in-person autos. The Boggs is a bit of a bummer since it was a PSA 9 crackout. I was hoping for at least an 8. Satisfied with the rest. Link to my signed Carpenter master set (only 20 cards so far): https://www.psacard.com/psasetregistry/baseball/player-sets/chris-carpenter-master-set/alltimeset/230919
Edit to add: forgot 2 of the Carpenters are new additions to the master composite, so they won’t be shown yet at that link.
