the first few weeks can be tough, especially with how the pre-season now develops. also, with no real way to gauge Teams it's easy to pick with our hearts. after a few weeks that will change.

The autographed Cam Newton Bishop Sycamore helmet is a most generous offering to the winner of the contest. Certainly a prize of this magnitude would become a family heirloom to be passed from generation to generation. I, however, would like to state that should I (not likely) be the winner of said contest, would like to donate the helmet to Perkdog. Paul has an enormous "closet collection" of Cam Newton memorabilia, as I'm told from solid sources. His recent picks, and leading the pack with an astounding 11-5 right out of the gate, is clearly indicative of his desire to possess this priceless item, which will be the shining star of his collection. Untold hours of sabermetric analysis, which Perkdog has managed to apply to football, has clearly paid dividends for him.
While I will continue to use my secret method of selections (often known as the rapid quick pick strategy), I do hereby state that I will not accept the top prize. A tough decision, but it will go to a better place, and bring joy to my friend, Paul, aka Perkdog, aka The Perkie Poster.

those four Teams seemed like no-brainer picks and not one of them showed up. consider this: with 11 participants there were 44 choices with these Teams and only five chose against them so we were all fooled by the pre-game hype. things should get clearer in the coming weeks.

quite some time ago I had a friend who's GF helped him with picks. she would look at a game such as tonight's NY Giants vs, Washington and pick the Team from the city she would most like to visit.
it's a novel way to pick but she did as good as we did!!!

I know exactly what you mean. Sort of. I guess I live the life of a teacher vicariously through my wife. And I see the rewards definitely come from the students.
