Even when I ocassionally veer into modern or basketabll or non sport, I am almost immediately drawn back into vintage baseball. Often because of cards like these. In this case, the first item was one I have been after for a while and when I scanned eBay, this was priced to sell. So, I pounced quickly; I don't think the listing was up more than a day or two when I found it and subsequently ended it:
1947-66 Exhibits Jackie Robinson
The next one speaks for itself as to why I grabbed it. It is exactly how I collect - low to mid grade with eye appeal that is better than the technical grade it would receive and priced right.

Thanks. I was going to try and grab the 1981 PSA 9 that was ending Sunday night, but it got bid up pretty high for a card that did not look particularly outstanding for a 9. So I bought something else instead that I hope gets in by the end of the week.

I never post a card using seller pics, but we need a June thread and it's Rickey! Appropriate scans will be posted when it is in hand. Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
I am often amazed by the kindness and generosity of our forum members. This 536 commemorative ring (left) was sent to me by @Gilbey simply because he knows I love Mickey.
Thank you kindly, Dave!

Nifty! That is one of the rings they have given out at the Tulsa Drillers games (Dodgers' AA affiliate) here in Tulsa. They are doing another one this week, I think. So if you are in town you should grab one!

either way, i think both qbs have tremendous ability to go far in the car insurance business.
you have "jake fromm state farm" & "justin case from smartauto". the commercials literally wrote themselves.
Hopefully both teams get some good o lineman to keep them from getting murdered in the backfield and actually give them time to develop. Potential is there for both of them. I can attest from several occasions that Fields is a great person and proud he represents OSU.
LOL! Good point about the insurance. You’d have to think they might not be too thrilled about all of the Rogers publicity going on with G.B.

100%. dont want another burrow situation and protection in general for the nfl considering what's unfolded about head injuries. one thing that's kinda struck me odd, especially considering most 1st round qbs go bust and most of the greats emerged from deeper in the draft is why they dont use more picks for offensive linemen? i know it's not the sexy pick and they dont sell jerseys, beer and hotdogs but a solid offensive line is probably the most key asset to have. even the best qb or rb is basically ineffective if all they have is cotton balls on the line. good line, good protection, good hole making equals good offense which equals wins which equals superbowls. lineman also dont have the risk issues. a big boy that did well at the college level usually does quite well in the nfl. just never gets the glory. that certainly isnt the case w/ even the best of college qbs. that list never ends.

Sadly you nailed it in regards to o lineman and the draft. Funny story about o line to back up your point, Zeke and the rest of the 2014 National Championship team nicknamed the online men “the slobs” and it actually has stuck and they take pride in the name and wear it like a badge of honor.
Ugh. Burrow. Trying not to think what might have been had he not broken the pinkie finger on his throwing hand in the spring game that gave Haskins the starting role. Both were great college QBs though. But Urban as great as a coach as he was and as much as I enjoyed his time at OSU, had a history of nepotism while here. Best Man Billy Davis, Tim Beck, Ed Wariner, and of course JT Barret (love JT but he was absolutely not the best qb out of him, Burrow, and Haskins). Mike Brown and the Bengals have a long history of some of the worst draft picks over needs. That didn’t shock me one bit w Burrow getting injured. Burrow should of told Brown the night they drafted them “either pick 3-4 o lineman w your next several picks or I won’t be signing”. Everyone was saying he’s going to get killed with their terrible line the minute he was drafted.
You’re spot on. It amazing how much hype QB’s get from the combine and get way over drafted and go bust or clipboard career player. Personally I do think a lot of it comes down to the organization that drafts them, the system they run, o line, etc. So many variables in play. Might as well be flipping a coin.

You know you have a bad addiction to unopened when your top June purchase was a mint empty 81/82 cello box……
My collecting blog: http://ctcard.wordpress.com
Hi,
Actually this is not a bad addiction.
I myself am looking for an empty 1982 Topps Football Wax box….
I think it’s the blue or something ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Picked this up for my 27 yr old daughter! She grew up watching Chipper Jones!! She would watch the games in her Braves pj's as a young kid! ha!
Saw one of these at a ridiculous price on Ebay and had to snap it up.
I love Upper Deck's The Cup series of cards. They are pricy, but they are really nice.
This one is no exception.
A Cale Makar Enshrinements from 19-20 The Cup.

A Roger Bannister card and some Mets autos.
Love these Topps Heritage parallels....low pops too.
2004 spx
1989 topps psa 10
1959 phillies
Phillies of the 70's
So how much does a pack of Action All Stars run these days?
got them for $3 each at the shop. 3rd pack pulled the Reggie Error with the red running into the stats.
I used to love these as a kid. I put together a few sets of the Action Stars as a wee-lad.
