I may have showed this one before but it came back a week or so from grading and imaging.
I’m super happy it graded a MS65DPL. Pretty nice for a raw pickup. And, so much nicer in hand.
I was hoping to have a new piece in hand for this weeks post, but it hasn’t arrived yet. Here are the GC pics of one of the acquisitions enroute. Been a quiet time for me lately, but I have line of sight to 4-5 upcoming Patriotic CWTs. Here is an Indiana primitive, that met my eye appeal vs price ratio.
Thanks to a tip from a fellow forum member I was able to pick up this Merriam token featuring Sampson's Ice Cream Soda Water from a recent Stacks Auction.
Then lightning struck again and I came across a seller offering an original card from Sampson's dating back to 1865.

Unlike the token I purchased, that dollar coin does in fact have "my" initials on it. Plus the arrow for good measure.
That coin most likely started it's circulating life in Massachusetts.

Ah yes, that's the classic JBK dollar. None produced for some years but maybe it's time for another production run.
I found this for sale at a bookstore. When I saw it, I looked at prices on eBay and decided to buy it. It has really nice toning, but I have no idea what it is. I'm not really a token guy (yet?) but I'll do more research on it in the morning.
