last time I will say this

when Pitt hadnt lost and barely beat a Ravens team that had like 19 guys on the roster, I said they were the most fraudulent undefeated team in the history of sports at that point in a season. since that game they've won once........when the Colts gagged up a huge lead. otherwise, it would be a 6-game losing streak after tonight.

no one should be surprised by this......they're a 3-13 playoff team

it is a sad reality of Cleveland Browns football that whenever the Team has a nice, comfortable lead, the mentality is always to play the "analytics" game which says run out the clock and force the other Team to score on each possession. as a fan, I get to watch it every season and it makes me come close to a coronary when they do it. everyone saw the same game as me tonight, why would they choose to come out in the third Quarter trying to kill clock on the ground?? yet they did just that and the result was two three-and-out consecutive possessions.

the solution: when they need to score they can and they did.

next week against KC will be closer than many think. remember, the Browns played this game absent most of their coaching staff and because of COVID-19 had players playing that NEVER EVEN PRACTICED WITH THE TEAM. that is sort of remarkable. additionally, I think the Team has had two practices in the last two weeks.

I had to shake my head during that Ravens game. my thoughts after Lamar Jackson ran for that 48 yard TD: what an advantage the Ravens have with the fastest player on the field getting the snap on each play. when the Browns played the Ravens on Monday a few weeks ago it came down to a shoot-out and Jackson prevailed. I hope the Bills are up to it, Lamar Jackson seems to be peaking at exactly the right time.

in the NFC, I think the Green Bay Packers will be tested, the LA Rams defense is the real deal. next weekend will be even better than this weekend, a hard thing to top.

I want to congratulate Russell Wilson for the outstanding effort in trying to not win the NFL MVP this year, early on he was well on his way but he refused to live up to the hype he gave himself of being the “Best QB in the league” Russell sure turned it around and made sure the Hawks didn’t go far into the playoffs 👍👍

Didn't want to break that "never gotten an MVP vote" streak.

So as I watched Buffalo Saturday Josh Allen is still an amazing QB. He willed the Bills to a victory Saturday. He was the passing game and the running game. It was a great game plan and despite the defense looking over matched in the 2nd half the Bills hung on by their finger nails.
As I watched Sunday my one thought was Pittsburgh continue your domination over the Browns. You need to win #19 in a row. After 28-0 after one my thoughts wandered to Saturday night.
It’s been a great year for Buffalo. I’m a Bills fan to the end but the one team I didn’t want coming to Buffalo were the Ravens. I’m not giving up on my Bills but I don’t see how they win this game. It surely won’t be a shock when the Ravens win, go to Kansas City and lose again to the Chiefs. Looks like Green Bay and Kansas City are destined to meet in 45.

'dueces, show some respect. B) the Pittsburgh body isn't even cold yet and you're already writing the Browns off as finished. hold out some hope in this weird, weird season and pray for a Cleveland Browns visit to the fine City of Buffalo in two weeks. :)

I will continue to be a realist and not fool myself. I expect Kansas City to win next week but won't be surprised if the Browns triumph. that's been what I've thought for several games at seasons end. did I think Cleveland would beat the Titans?? no. did I think the Browns would beat the Ravens?? no, and although they lost it was much, much closer than I had expected and victory was achievable. did I think the Browns would beat the Steelers two weeks ago?? yes, I did. did I think they'd win again last night?? no.

this much I can say for sure about our Offense: Baker Mayfield is playing the way the scouts envisioned, currently as good as ANY QB still in the PlayOffs, and with Chubb/Hunt as our ground combo we can be very dangerous. the Defense is the question mark. they'll be a little healthier and are capable of slowing Teams down but not really stopping them. KC presents a problem with speed on the outside and power over the middle, so to my thinking it comes down to a shoot-out style of game with the winner being the Team that plays error free. it will be nice to have a few Coaches standing around on the sidelines.

it will be an exciting weekend for sure. lets do this, you pull for the Browns and I'll pull for the Bills. B)

What happened to your confidence in your team? You were touting them as SB champs and now you are scared of the guy you said will be holding a clipboard in two years? :D It sounds like you are just preparing yourself mentally in case they lose. Did the Colts really expose them that much? In my opinion..no. If anything, it was probably a wake up call.

The Browns are going to have to do more than sleep walk their way they in the second half against Pittsburgh. It is a 60 minute game. I have never been a fan of the prevent defense. When your defense loses its aggression and sits back and lets the opposing quarterback sit in the pocket, with little or no pressure, most any NFL passer is going to cut you to ribbons. The "prevent defense" often doesn't prevent what it is supposed to prevent.

I think that Pittsburgh and Washington were the two weakest teams in the playoffs. Both fell to teams that had won a playoff game for a decade. It's been a fun ride for their fans, but Cleveland and Tampa Bay might be in for a dose of reality. I would love to Tampa beat New Orleans, but they have not come close in two tries. I'd like see Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes go home too, but I think they are going to put the hammer down hard.

As for Buffalo, if they are the world beaters that their fans say they are, they should put away the Colts much sooner. If Colts coach had not left points on the table, the outcome might have been different.

this is going to be long-winded, but it needs to be said cuz i can't take much of this anymore

i'm still in disbelief over tomlin's decision to punt last night. he basically squelched his own team's tidal wave of momentum when he did that. the browns were backed into a corner of the ring absorbing blows, praying for the bell. so instead of going for the knockout blow, he decides to end the round about 30 seconds early so Cleveland can regain their senses. what a nice guy. if they get that first down and proceed to score again, the entire Browns sideline would have been hyperventilating and something historical might have happened. but nope. let's give Cleveland the ball back and issue them a stay of execution. let's play not to lose instead of playing to win. and heaven forbid, let's not consider what had been happening the last quarter or so, when the offense had been clicking on all cylinders. now all of a sudden doubt creeps into your mind over their ability to get 1-2 yards? here's a novel idea: show an OUNCE of confidence in your team, coach. i'm sorry, but when you've been down by 4 touchdowns at one point and later find yourself with an opportunity to cut it to a one-score game, you slam on the accelerator. the days of you worrying about what will happen if we don't get this should have no place between your ears, because you're very effing fortunate to still be in the game to begin with. SO GO GET IT.

such an awful decision. such a weak head coach Mike Tomlin is. i swear all of these coaches who go brain-dead during the middle of a game are really starting to weigh on me, because i feel like i need to be admitted to a funny farm more often than usual. i'm not joking. i watch stuff like that and i feel like i'm going nuts. maybe i should stick to watching golf. or maybe i should find a way to start drinking on a Monday morning while at work. wait, how did this Bailey's get into my coffee?

Anything can happen in the game of football, any given weekend. It's a tough game to predict at times. Sometimes things go as you think they will, sometimes it's the complete opposite.

now all of a sudden doubt creeps into your mind over their ability to get 1-2 yards

it's easy to armchair QB. by your own reasoning, the Steelers owned the Browns at this point in the game and there was an entire quarter, 15 minutes, of football left. I suppose Tomlin decided to punt because he presumed that during the next couple of possessions they'd catch Cleveland. that's what I thought at the time. the other side of it is that if they had not made it, the Browns have the ball in Steeler territory and galaxy27 at the PCGS Sports Forum will post that Tomlin is an idiot.

my take is this: they needed almost two yards for the first down and I agree with what Tomlin thought about running the ball --- no confidence. that leaves a pass, and when you pass there are a lot of things that can happen and only one of them is good. better to punt and score on the next possession.

but stop all this talk about how butt-hurt you are that Pittsburgh lost, did you see those Browns last night??!!?? :p

@keets if you honestly believe that punting the ball in that situation was the appropriate play call, then that's fine. you're entitled to your opinion. but as soon as the investigation into what type of genitals are in mike tomlin's pants is complete, we're gonna move on to you.

thanks for using the term butthurt. because that's exactly what you are when you feel your team is being slighted. that's what your reply was really all about. listen, i give Cleveland all the credit in the world. i thought the Browns were a better team before, during and after that game..........and that's why i parked some coin on them. Pittsburgh giving up 6.5 to anyone is like manna from heaven.

the Browns are a fun and exciting team. offensively, they're a loaded gun. defensively, not so much. and that's why they're going to lose next week. their only hope is to outscore Kansas City, and i wish them the very best with that endeavor. Patrick Mahomes is not going to give them a handful of extra possessions like Big Ben did last night, and it'll only be a matter of time before that weak secondary of yours gets exposed by those cheetahs.

everyone can comment on that call and say what should have been done, but there was no guarantee that they'd have made it, so Tomlin played the odds. it's interesting to consider --- just prior to that errant snap to start the game the last words out of the announcers mouth were "The Steelers, dead last in the League in rushing" so they probably wouldn't have run, BB was 47/68 with 4 int. so a pass was a gamble, 15+ minutes left in the game and punting is the smart move.

they scored on the previous drive and also on their subsequent drive so it really was the smart call. heck, I don't need Sports Writers to say they agree with me to know it was the right thing to do in the Pro's.

100% should have went for it. At worst Cleveland takes over near the 50. If Tomlin had that much confidence in the "D" then stop them from there. Your taking about 30 yards of field position vs possibly cutting the score to one possession with a quarter to go. No one would have blamed him if they didn't make it.

    No risk it, no biscuit

The Chiefs really need to get rid of Sammy Watkins.
Someone posted on twitter that after the Browns beat the Steelers that the Chiefs
will have some competition. Watkins posted that he wouldn't go that far as to say that.
The kicker...... Watkins is of course injured like he always is and won't be playing against the Browns.

Really looking forward to the Ravens-Bills.
I'm thinking the Bills will figure out a way to contain Lamar and then put up some quick points
and build up a nice lead. Then no way Lamar comes back on them if he has to rely strictly on his passing game.

Cleveland's hopes are they take advantage of KC's starters layoff and build an early lead and then pound the ball and keep the ball out of Mahomes hands. Even that might not be enough

in my heart I hope for a Cleveland vs. Buffalo AFC game, my head tells me that neither Team may prevail. Football is a funny game and sometimes the first 5-10 minutes can change things so much that the perceived "weaker" Team wins. with Buffalo vs. Baltimore that doesn't really apply since there isn't a weak Team playing. Cleveland vs. Kansas City is a different story, the weak link being Cleveland's DB's.

whatever happens and whoever wins in the AFC I don't see an NFC Team winning the Super Bowl. the Packers will probably be the NFC Champion and I don't see them beating any of the four Teams left in the AFC.
