Big thank you to Mike (smallstocks) for the recent cello pack added to my collection. Couple HOFers showing on this beautiful 1979 pack. Happy it made it unopened after nearly 42 years knowing it had 2 of the best inside.
Recent addition to my Henri Richard registry set. The photos in the 1964 Topps set can be ugly, especially the mug shots (Howe comes to mind), but Richard's is a classic pose.
The spot over Henri's head is one of those weird discolouration marks on the PSA holder. Guess I will reholder it at some point.

Huge mail day for me today! I’ve had this blue back copy on my whale list for awhile now hoping to someday grab a centered copy with clean back which would pretty much be out of my budget. Luckily I was able to grab this one that was removed from the 85-86 Merchante Campeonato album to pair with my red back version. They both have paper loss on back but i’m ok with the pair sitting in Authentic slabs.
Pitched a perfect game in 1999, struck out 19 batters in 1 game in 1991, 1994 CY Young winner, 5x WS champion, 2.12 ERA in the world series, David Cone. His only base rookie card in 87....

Finally picked up an iconic 1952 Topps card. Sievers was a great player, one of my dad's favorites. I love the red background and Browns logo on this card.
I also grabbed this cool Bill Buckner card. Growing up in Chicago in the late 70's, Buckner was my favorite player. I used to try to copy his stance and swing in Little League.
Great lookin' Sievers!!!

How do you win a Cy young and 5 World Series and not make it to the 2nd yr of the hall voting?

Have you seen some of the pitchers who have won Cy Youngs? It is certainly possible to win a world series without being a key contributor. I don't think Cone should have fallen off after the first year, but let's face it, a five time all-star is not a can't miss HoFer by any means.

Too centered to pass up. Checked VCP and saw only one other signed was centered.
@DM23HOF and @blurryface : With September coming to a close, I would recommend maybe starting a new thread for vintage signed cards, especially Mantle's? These specimens that you both have been posting this month are too good to be buried in a monthly pickup thread. Just throwing that out there.
I am thinking that others may contribute too if we start one just for vintage signed cards?

As a long-suffering AVs fan, I cannot express how much I love this card. Absolutely beautiful patch and auto.
Let’s spend some cap space on a goalie and a d-man and get that Cup next year. This year’s team was very close.
Thanks to @JakeR2234 for this beauty
And to @smallstocks for these
And a couple more Payton's for good measure
Joe Pisarcik...forever in the hearts of Eagles fans! :-)

Not going to happen. The committees aren't going to meet this year.
Guess they haven’t heard of this thing called Zoom.

Easier to bully your compatriots into voting for Harold Baines or Jack Morris in person.
Won this in a auction two days before the place burnt up. I was able to receive my mail today and it was there.
Vintage Rookies
Thanks. That hadn’t even occurred to me. Maybe they didn’t want to overload the induction ceremony next year.
Very excited about these, I have one more on the way.
Been kinda lazy this month posting my pickups. This one was pure impulse because the price was so low!
