That is a nice looking coin. But something about the look of it causes me concerns (counterfeit).
While you still have a potential time window to return it, you might want to seek out a professional authentication.

Do you think it has an embossed mintmark? I'd like to see a close up pic of the edge at the mintmark location.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

No, I suspect the whole coin is a counterfeit. But I would need a closer examination.
@MrSpud you've been on a type acquisition rampage! I like the coins you add to your collection. How far along are you in your type set journey (say in percentage terms)?
Found my 3rd 1798 B-16/BB-110 out of 14 now traced. All three of mine are in different die states, and none are the most common one (not that any BB-110 is common). I have another of this die variety in Show service grading at PCGS here at the show.
This is Die State I (virgin). Another of mine is between states I and II. The one at PCGS is the second VLDS with a nice cud. (The other VLDS/cud is the highest graded and only mint state example of the variety - PCGS MS62).
Correction: Same reverse die. This one is the BB-113 EDS.

I sent it to NGC yesterday. What are your concerns?

My suspicion is that the whole coin is a modern fabrication. But it would take more examination to be sure.
This one made a couple of my circulated type sets move to #1 in the registry across the street. It also moved me closer to The Cumberland Valley #1 set here for my 19th Century Circulated Type set. I was able to move into #2 when The Schwenk Collection was retired, but I don’t think I’ll ever catch up to Cumberland unless they retire too someday. It also bumped me up to #2 for a little while in one of those new Mint State Everyman type sets, until someone with a bunch of 64’s comes along.

I just noticed this question, but I sort of answered it when I posted my most recent purchase and it moved 2 of my circulated type sets to the #1 rank across the street in their Registry. But still just #2 here in PCGS Registry.
In terms of percent, the bar graphs below summarize that pretty good. The main ones I’ve been focused on are the 19th Century Circulated ones.
Now that I have a reverse pic, I’m sharing it again. I really wanted an AU, but the price is just too prohibitive. All in all, I still feel this is a very attractive coin. I’m happy with it. The mint luster is very strong even though my pics didn’t quite capture it all.

Underbid this in the original auction of the Reiver collection. Missed bidding months back on Great Collections. Paid up about 10% over that bid+juice to wrestle it away. Rare coin.

After 22 years of collecting, my first Bust Dollar. I can't put it down or stop looking at it.
I sent it to NGC yesterday. What are your concerns?
Congratulations! A great look!

A new one from yesterday, another MS66 RD this time from the San Francisco Mint in 1951:
OGH Shield Nickel for the type set
I agree Joe, and I'm not a fan of Barbers.
I love Shield Nickels!
I haven’t posted any acquisitions in a while so here’s my latest.
