Down to needing 23 coins out of 133 for my complete US Circulating Type set. It starts getting real expensive going forward. I need a lot of the Early Gold Type to finish the collection. I have been buying strictly CAC coins. But will probably have to buy some coins with out CAC stickers. I am engaging a dealer that specializes in Gold going forward. I do not mind taking a hit when I sell but would like to make sure the mistakes with the coin surfaces and originality are limited. Not many CAC stickers on the Early Gold in lower grades that I can afford.
Neither rare nor expensive, but it replaced a much less interesting looking Jefferson widget in my type set, and it goes well with a subtly pink toned proof Kennedy half of the same year and grade.
1961 Philippines Peso - Jose RIzal Commemorative
Mint: US Mint - Philadelphia
Grade: PCGS MS64 POP 7/10
I'm extending my interest in USPI coins to "USMPI" - US Mint - Philippines
The interesting thing about this is that it was struck by the US Mint in Philadelphia 1961 even though the Manila Mint opened in 1920. Likely, it was struck by the Philadelphia Mint because the Manila Mint wasn't operational after WWII. Sobering to think about a mint facility being destroyed during war.
Have not made any purchases from eBay for quite a while but a thread by BuffaloIronTail last week inspired me to make an impromptu impulse buy of the following 1950 D Jefferson Nickel in MS 66

A new coin for my TYPE Set.
