@Meltdown .... Wow....1000 oz. bar....Not sure what one would want with a bar that size....However, I collect some things that no one else understands either... Cheers, RickO

The customer ordered it last week and paid around $16k for it. I'm thinking that's one hell of a doorstop investment!
Had me a little conjugal visit this past Monday at the SDB. I hate having to make appointments, but it was worth the hassle to get this photo...... and add a few pieces to the box.

I got another Silver Wolf bar today. Unfortunately, he’s leaving the area pretty soon. He had all of his stuff packed up and was done making bars for now.
My friend Jason asked if he would fire up the furnace one last time and he agreed. We only had a 10oz bar and an ounce or two of shot to work with.
Sure enough, the bar cooled the same as last week. Blue crystals!
As the bar was made at Lake Junaluska, he stamped it with the fish privy. Pretty cool as the bars made there only have that mark.
I got this one bar today, that’s all, but I’m glad to have it!
well the purchases are becoming more spread out, but my hunt for reasonably (cheap) generic gold continues. Liked the look of this gold piece. My pics which are not that good and sellers pic.
Not too much.. I have a weakness for well circulated Twenty Cent Pieces... and the other thing was something I always wanted... Price was right.. so! Both bought here on the BST:
DT, the holder was a plus, I don’t follow them , but knew it was scarcer. Liked the look/ feel the toning gave the coin. Always struggle with the desire to have rarer / prettier coins that cost a lot over melt ( say a $2.5 for $750 or more) when I can get decent looking generic for $300-$400. Not sure I will ever be able to have a clear path....but the thrill is finding the right coin at the right time.
@SimpleCollector .... "but the thrill is finding the right coin at the right time."....That is the essence of collecting...Nice gold coin... Good luck... Cheers, RickO

@ricko said: @Kliao...There is also a mark before the GA, and four marks (you identify three) following the silver mark. Cheers, RickO
The 2 marks around the GA I’m assuming are pattern marks made by the maker and were not stamped by the city assayer but I could be wrong. The silver marks that I identified are not including the 2 marks around the GA from top to bottom

I might have posted these before but I saved them from the melt bin. They are Dutch and also assayed in 1866. The purity mark says that these spoons are .934 so better than sterling. It’s interesting that the makers mark is on the front almost like it was part of the design but I am still unsure of who the maker was. Assayed at Schoonhoven which has closed in 1987.

I keep looking for silverware at the thrift shops and antique shops...Have not been lucky except for a couple of mugs (three years ago)...and they are also engraved. Cheers, RickO

Usually they are snatched up immediately. Try looking for unusual stuff that people would normally not think of. Or world hallmarks that don’t say .925 or sterling. Here’s a good resource. https://www.925-1000.com/foreign_marks.html
Also check the melt bin of your LCS. There has to be something old and interesting you can get for melt.

@Kliao@ricko
I like that you guys noticed those marks. Usually people overlook them or at least don’t mention them.
Those are journeyman marks. The true maker of the spoon. Mine appears to be a zero and eight.
Larger shops, like George Adams of Chawner & Co had multiple silversmiths working for them. These are their marks. Probably a dual purpose, quality control and so the guy gets paid for his work.
Typically there’s only one mark, but sometimes two.
With two, I’m assuming one is the person who forged the spoon and the other perhaps someone else did the thread stamping of the spoon, the “thread” decoration. (The lines along the edges).

@Meltdown.... Wow...I like that Lion.... Usually just a Tiger fan, but that one has a regal look to it... Very nice. Cheers, RickO
Received this in the mail yesterday. A COHR sterling Denmark lemon fork. The seller thought it was plated as the mark is partial.
