I think you are a candidate @PTVETTER
I remember people before myself.
Nothing against the newer members, but some of the older ones were so much more fun.
For those that remember the mercury dimes collectors had a lot of fun.
Been here since 08/01/02. This forum was established around 2001 I believe.
Later, Paul.

Of course there are the bammed/made new nic, bammed/unbammed, those who forgot their un/pw, and etc.
Whoa ....almost 20 yrs ago
For what it's worth I was here from the beginning as Nickel Triumph with one of the first (if not first) Jefferson Registry sets. A few years ago when I returned a lot had changed...my old log-in code didn't work...something like CYXNCYVZ...it was all dial-up. With the advent of computer technology Nickel Triumph no longer existed so here I am again as CCDollar. I do remember the thread discussions were divided by denominations (i.e. There was the Dollar Forum, The Nickel Forum etc.). Anyhow..take care...

I am grateful that you guys nurtured that baby so that I could arrive and join in the fun! Peace Roy

I joined in 1999 before the switch to the "new" format. The change happened 2/24/2001, which is why a bunch of the senility-challenged among us have the same start date.
I was definitely more fun then.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I was on the original boards CU had in 1997. We have had 2 or three changes since then.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
We should get something from PCGS for each 5 year anniversary. Just a thought.
Something like 5 "get out of being banned" passes or something.

Many of us were here in the 1990s before the first version of this board was up. The big migration took place in February, 2001 when we all had to re-register and could pick new user names if we wanted to. Our post counts went back to zero, PCGS stopped supporting the old forum software and we lost the old boards. I don't know when I originally registered, but it was around two decades ago.

Don't recall when it started. Guess I'm ancient and senile. Seen about 3 different forum generations tho.
Yep... Feb. 24, 2001.... I was on the forum prior to that and one morning went to logon and it was not there... had to rejoin and start over...I think I was a few minutes after TomB....Cheers, RickO

Salute to the CU forum OG’s...I Always Respect OG’s...that’s the way it was meant to be...Thanks for building this place
Who is OG?
...it's not a who...it's a status...and nobody gets to OG status without Respecting the OG's that hold it
Wow! Now this has become a neat historical list of Who’s Who. Thanks for sharing Ol’ Guys.
I joined this forum on Feb. 24, 2001, when it was initiated. Tom B pointed out that an older forum was around in the 1990s under the banner of "Coin Universe." I was on that one as well. I am guessing starting around 1996. I found out that the sale of the US Central America coins was being sold at a hotel literally across the street from my office from a post on that old forum.

My first collector thread was on March 31, 2004 and the topic was 'Twenty-cent piece errors.'

That apostrophe makes me want to ask: member's what ?
You mean a "Get Out of a Ban For Free" card.

I joined the old board back in the 90s. I was there for a few years. We were given a few warnings that we had to move to the new board. I think for a while we could actually post on either board. A lot of alts were lost but many were started here. Some had several in the beginning. Don't think they were tracking IPs much. There was this one guy that would start fights and argue with himself. There were a lot of fun times.
Larry's comment about being given a heads-up that we would have to re-register and then being able to post on both boards for a while is true and it was kind of strange to be able to choose the platform to respond. We had a Hall of Fame troll/alt in scottieo and also had cobb, who must be a legend to all of us who lived through his contributions.
