All kidding aside you guys are just babies compared to the old crew
Dog97 wow that brings back memories! MadMarty and Russ.... Don't get me started , but LucyBop was queen !
I had only recently joined the first version of the forum when they switched over to Fusetalk software on Feb. 23, 2001. I guess that makes me a long-time member. I joined as member #28. Don't know if there's still a way to see your member number with this software (or if this software even assigns numbers to members).
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
We, as a forum, have certainly been through changes/evolution in both format and members. No doubt over the next decade we will see more changes. Enjoy the ride, and I hope we are all here to reminisce ten years from now. Cheers, RickO
I joined probably around 1999 or 2000. I was here for the changeover in 2001. My activity level has ebbed and flowed along with my numismatic activity level.
I miss LucyBop. That winking avatar is the best.
I remember she had a brief reappearance a couple years ago and it was refreshing.
She had great coins and the way she posted commanded respect.

Every once in a while a "Frankie" thread will bring her out of the wood work.
I arrived in time to witness the Forum mass extinction in December '06
June 20, 2006 was my arrival time, I was a long time collector but a noob on the boards. It was educational and fun at the same time. I was there the night the boards exploded and Sportsmoderator1 was dropping members like in a shooting gallery. The day after, 'Death by moderator' was coined.

Is that Lanai or West Maui in the pic?

Class of 2007 - IMHO the best coin forum with the greatest and knowledgeable members!

Never got into the beanies but my sister-in-law made a decent chunk selling ones she'd gotten for her girls during their first collectible "wave".
