Your solution is to have a really bad season so that Jerry Jones will clean house. The alternative is to have one mediocre season after another.
If Jones does clean house, the next question is, how will he stock the house?
The Redskins look dead enough that the Cowboys will win this rather dull affair and be in the hunt for the division title. With the Redskins QB in back up mode, they might be ready to disappear. Whoever wins the division will not go very far in the playoffs.

Few remember it, but the Patriots coach before Belichick was Pete Carroll. Yes, the hero of the Seattle team coached in the pros for New England, and the natives wanted to run him out of town. Over his three year tenure, the Patriots got worse every year. Finally the NE management let him go. Carroll went back to USC, probably learned a few things, and came back to the pros.
This was an example of how a good house cleaning can make the team better. But you had to put up with some mediocre seasons.

I still have my doubts about Cooper being dependable but he might prove me wrong, but now that Dak doesn’t have to depend on guys like Beasley and Terrence Williams as his go to #1’s he might start winning a few more games

So far I like Cooper a lot, but Prescott still has brain farts now and then. I wish we had Whitten back (in his prime) we would be looking good. And of course we need our O-line all back and healthy. I don't want much do I.

I was looking at Aikman's and Romo's career stats and was surprised to find Romo's numbers
were clearly superior in all categories. Most telling probably is Romo's QB rating of 97 compared to
82 for Troy. Romo a lot better in Int. percentage and yards.
Clearly a case of Aikman's teams winning 3 Super Bowls make him seem like a better QB than Romo.
If I were a lifelong Cowboys' fan I might rate Aikman higher than Romo like Dimeman does simply becuase
of the Super Bowl wins, you can be a little more objective if you are not a fan of the team and realize Romo
was clearly better, its just that Aikman had a lot more talent on his teams.

And Romo is annoying some of the time too
He's much better than average, imo. He sees plays before they develop and is right most of the time. He is articulate and proivides insightful commentary, too. I was skeptical at first, but it's clear why CBS chose to bump Simms to the studio when they hired Romo.

The reason the stats are so far apart is the difference in the system between the 2. Aikman was in a run first as opposed to Romo was a pass first. This is why Prescott will not have great numbers. They like to run Zeke. They actually run Zeke too much and the length of his career will show it later on.
Thursday night against the Redskins at the end when the wanted to chew up the clock all they did was run Zeke up the middle for a 3 and out. They should have been making short passes and got some first downs. They almost PI$$ED that game away. They need to pass more to get Prescott going and to save Zeke for a longer career.
And bottom line is Aikman was 10 times the QB that Romo was. Aikman stepped up and got the job done. And Romo always ant the key word is "always" choked in the big games.

9 and 7 is better than 0 and 16 or 4 and 12. You Cowboy fans are spoiled. Most fans are happy if they get in the playoffs. Winning the Super Bowl is a impossible dream or a once in a lifetime experience for most fans. Just ask the Eagle's fans. The championship gap ran from 1960 to 2018. Of course I am now a "spoiled Patriots fan" too, but before Belichick there were many lean years.
Here in Tampa we have had a musical chair quarterbacks problem. The back-up guy has a good game or two and then he starts throwing interceptions. The highly paid first string guy has a lot of talent, but he too is interception prone. The coach keeps changing quarterbacks, and that has been part of the problem. Frankly, I think that the Bucks will stay at no better than .500 if they keep the high priced first string guy, whose contract to coming up to a decision point. They may need to start from scratch.
Both quarterbacks suffer from "turn-over-tis" and "red zone phobia." They are good at making four or five good plays and then they turn the ball over. They get the ball inside the 20 yard line and then throw an interception, settle for a field goal or in one game two missed field goals with the ball inside the 20. That's how you pile up 450 to 500 yards on offense and score 3 points for the whole game.

I remember years ago (maybe 77) the Bucs made it to the playoffs and had to face a good Cowboy team who sent them home 33-0. That was probably under Danny White as QB. I like White better than Romo.

I get your point, Paul, and I agree he can sometimes provide a little too much comentary, but I'll take that over the tired old refrains most color guys utilize in game situations, though. Yesterday, on ESPN radio, after Stafford threw a pick 6 to ice the game, the guy says, "That's not what you want to see if you're the Detriot Lions." Gee, thanks, buddy for the insightful analysis, LOL..
I do like Mcfarland on MNF as he speaks his mind and is not afraid to criticize. The guys in the booth are abysmal. Gruden and McDonohue were Summerall and Madden next to these guys. All Tessitore is missing is the pom poms with all the cheerleading he does.

This New Orleans game is going to show whether or not the Cowboys have a legitimate shot anything this year. If they get their butts kicked really badly by the Saints, they are going to be in a dog fight to win the doggy Eastern Division of the National Conference. A loss will put them in a dog fight with Washington and Philadelphia with an “exciting” 6 and 7 record. In any other division in the NFL a 6-7 record has you looking forward to next season.

Agreed 😂
This New Orleans game is going to show whether or not the Cowboys have a legitimate shot anything this year. If they get their butts kicked really badly by the Saints, they are going to be in a dog fight to win the doggy Eastern Division of the National Conference. A loss will put them in a dog fight with Washington and Philadelphia with an “exciting” 6 and 7 record. In any other division in the NFL a 6-7 record has you looking forward to next season.
Well, here it is Thursday night and the Saints are in town! I'm as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs!
Well Dallas has held them scoreless for the first 6 minutes. They got this and i'm not just saying that because i predicted 10 wins for them but they can only afford one more loss this season.

There went the shut out!
Are you kidding me? Stinkin' Cowboys leading the "mighty" Saints 13-3 in the third quarter?
I'm trying to figure out a way to jinx the Cowboys but I can't think of one right now.
Jerry Jones is the kindest, smartest, greatest professional sports team owner of all time, and I'm talkin' even in the Roman Colosseum days...maybe the caveman days if they had team owners back then, i'm not sure.
Come on Saints...the Cowboys want to lose this game.
