Steve is pulling out all the stops. If he didn’t sell his soul to devil last year the Bears would be in trouble

So Steve's reverse strategy includes changing to a Bears avatar before the game is over?
Wonder if he was dressed up like Mike Ditka the entire game?

I like Galaxy, i really do. He is my all time favorite poster on Sports Talk. Some may ask why, but does that really matter? However the important thing is to prove it. Prove that I like Galaxy, if I'm going to say that I like Galaxy.

So just to prove my sincere like for Galaxy, i have changed my avatar to the avatar that Galaxy is now using. How can anyone possibly show their like for someone on Sports Talk better than that, I ask you.

If a head coach runs up the score with his second or third string quarterback and team in there, calling mostly run plays to eat up the clock, that is acceptable.

What Sean Maggot Payton did was unacceptable.

I had to LOL this because there is no snowflake flag . If you don't want a score run up on you just win. Be in the game playing and not sleeping. If you have a chance to beat the defending SB champ you beat them like a rented mule , or a red headed step child . Plus its good for the nerds fantasy points

What if Brees would have gone down from a career ending injury with a 40 point lead?

You can call it snowflake if you wish...i call Sean Payton a dumb and obnoxious football coach.

Wait until the Saints come to the Linc. Eagles fans will boo this unsportsmanlike maggot unmercifully. Might turn out to be the most ferocious booing in modern sports history.

Payton better get himself a good pair of ear plugs for that game. LOL

Well this coming Sunday's game against the Saints and their maggot head coach Sean Payton, will certainly be an interesting revenge game for the Eagles, because of Payton classlessly running up the score on the Eagles earlier this season.

Perhaps the Eagles still may not be good enough to beat the Saints, however the Eagles are certainly going to be motivated for some payback.

    We shall see what happens.

I read that Topps is going to buy the goalpost/crossbar and cut up pieces and put in memorabilia cards for inclusion in Eagles team set sets. What a crazy ending.

An Eagles player actually tipped the field goal that Cody Parkey missed

Both of our teams are long shots against two rested teams at their stadiums. It's going to be a very tough task for that to happen.

Rest is overrated. Three years ago we were 13-3 and #1 seed. We got stale …….Green Bay came in...….we spotted them 21 points due to rust and we never could overcome it. I would rather just keep playing.

I recall when the NFL playoff format first changed, and for a number of years after that, the percentage of the rested bye week teams winning their first playoff game was very high, and at least partially if not highly attributable to an extra week of rest.

That trend I think has changed a bit in the recent past years, but without question it's still a strong angle. I think what has happened is coaches that don't have the bye week, have adjusted their practices the week after their first playoff win, to basically little or no football contact during that week, to allow their players as much rest as possible, and that helps to perhaps even it out a bit.

  • grote15grote15 Posts: 29,689 ✭✭✭✭✭

The last time a team which played a wildcard weekend game reached the Super Bowl was 2012. It can and has been done, but ovbiously it is easier if you have rest and home field advantage. The Rams in particular will benefit because Gurley had another week to rest his troublesome knee.
