@stevek Erik is one of the most knowledgeable Pats fans here at CU, a fair weather fan he is NOT. I’m the biggest Belichek complainer here without question but still a faithful fan. You are allowed to criticize and critique the team you know a lot about and root for. You Steve have shown very little faith in your Eagles at times over the season but that’s part of being a fan right? We all want our team to win and get annoyed when they make questionable decisions. You blasted Pederson several times this season even though he led your team to a Super Bowl Victory last year.

Paul - I'm not knocking some complaining per se, but what I consider to be nitpicking (obsessive complaining) about the greatest NFL head coach of all time. I haven't seen any comment from you or Eric disputing that about Belichick being the GOAT.

So if we agree on that about Belichick the GOAT, then i think we should agree that in any of the moves he makes, which history has proven have been overall exemplary, that he should be given the benefit of the doubt, rather than what I perceive as constant nitpicking.

Yes, i have blasted Pederson for over working, and yes I'll say it, contributing to the injury factor of Carson Wentz and I can get quite incensed over that. Especially because there is no logical reason to do it. The easy example is simply taking a QB out of a game when the game is already won...but Pederson rarely does it. My premise is if Pederson would have done that last season, Wentz may very well have not gotten injured in which the ACL tear obviously affected him this season.

Nick Foles took a viscous hit in the last game of the regular season, late in the Redskins game when the game was already clearly won. Foles should have been on the sidelines instead of in the game at that point. From what i read, Foles suffered bruised ribs from that hit. Who knows how it affected his performance in the Bears game and the Saints game? However the fact is that Foles threw two interceptions in both games. And really, the Eagles should have lost that Bears game, winning the game on a miracle missed field goal.

But geez Paul come on now, comparing Belichick with Pederson as far as how fans should treat them? If Belichick would have done for the Eagles what he did for the Patriots, and since he is still performing at a high level, I know i would give him the benefit of the doubt when he brings in a couple of wide receivers early in the season and just see how it all plays out first, especially considering all of the salary cap considerations, before nitpicking him to death over it, and other forms of trivial criticism throughout the season.

Hey look, you and Eric are great Patriots fans, and that's obvious. It was just smack to call Eric a fair weather fan. All i'm saying is that in my opinion Bill Belichick should be accorded more respect from Patriots fans, the respect that he has clearly earned and deserves.

But we all know that you, Eric, and others are going to continue to do it, so carry on, and best of luck with the game on Sunday. Should be one helluva game as it was earlier in the season when the two teams met.

Have to give the man his props....hate to say it but possibly the best coach that I've ever seen. He always has a plan to make the opponent get away from what they do best; he does that time after time after time. Just a great football mind! I can't say I like the Patriots or the coach, but they have certainly earned this Eagles fan's admiration and respect over the years, one of the highest complements I can pay them.

I’m intrigued that this morphed into a Patriots thread :D

I love Bill Belichick as much as any Pats fan BUT he had exactly 1 winning seasons in 6 before Tom Brady took the reigns. They feed of each other but without Brady there are less rings. A lot less rings. Everyone knows this

Eric you hit the ball out of the park in this thread

The right field Ump ruled it fair after some nerdy Phillies fan wearing headphones reached into fair territory and snagged it.
Security had to help escort the kid out after Eagles fans in Santa costumes started pelting him with batteries & horse turds.
This kid's name was Steve k(artman) and he was last seen running thru the streets screaming "Bill Belichick is the bestedest coach ever.........." ;)

You'll be fine. I do have to have a word with @Justacommeman though to remind him he's not supposed to feed Gremlins after midnight.

Well done by the Eagles, the epitome of class. 👍

You knew they would. Just the right thing to do, which they've actually been pretty good at recently

Jeff Lurie has been a class act since he bought the Eagles in 1994.

One thing I've always liked about Lurie, is there was never any doubt in my mind that he wanted to do whatever it takes to win a Super Bowl. Jeff loves sports and I don't see him ever selling the Eagles which is fine by me.
