Lake Mission Viejo, South Orange County, Ca. yesterday after a cold rain. The snow level got down to 2500 feet.
Don't see Saddleback mountain with snow very often.
I don’t know what the name of that mountain is but it’s not Saddleback. Saddleback is in the middle of the picture slightly to the left above the power pole.

On this week's travels, took a detour to take in a reminder of the Wild Wild West, Pioneertown in California's Yucca Valley - a preserved Western themed Movie set from the 40's.
Funny thing. The town had been taken over entirely by masked bandits and banditos.

I saw him here three times. No singer before, or since comes close to his live performances when he was in his prime.
Agreed!
My father and Elvis were stationed together in Germany. We have many 8mm movies and photos of him and my father together along with numerous letters he had written to my aunt whom was ill at the time. He was a very caring person. My favorite pictures are the ones of him in his jeep, cigar in his mouth and a comic book in his hand. We have all the SpearHead books and albums published by the Army with platoon pictures of him. I was always a big fan of his because of the connection he had with my father in the service.
Looking for a unique Easter egg to place in the basket?
Although this original remains locked away in the Kremlin Armory Museum in Moscow, thanks to Google, EBay, and Epsy Royal Imperial Faberge Egg Replicas made in Russia can be had for a modest sum.
Having taken Russian in collegeII had contemplated as a student taking the Trans-Siberian Railway to Moscow. I guess that is why I found this particular Faberge Egg so intriguing when I chanced upon it in the Kremlin Armory. It was created in 1900 as a gift for Easter to the Empress by Nicholas II in conjunction with the nearing completion of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Inside the egg was a working miniature train and a railway map was engraved on the exterior of the egg.
The Armory is in the same vicinity as Red Square and is within the Moscow Kremlin.
And this is the replica I ended up taking home from Russia as a souvenir:

OK, its some hours away, but here for this Friday are some added views from last week's travels with an emphasis on Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the coyote and Big Horn Sheep encountered there.
Looking down from the "new" highway bridge that now connects Nevada and Arizona supplementing the road on top of Hoover Dam from decades past.
And now down at the level of the top of Hoover Dam including views from the original crossing road on top of Hoover Dam.
And the Spillway built to prevent the Colorado River waters feeding Lake Mead from ever reaching the top of the Dam. There is one on each side and they empty into huge tunnels that allow the waters exit to the river below the Dam.
Once crossing on the road on top of Hoover Dam from Nevada, Arizona welcomes.
Just up the hillside above Hoover Dam is the Lake Mead lookout.
With a coyote welcoming us at the lookout.
And then a short time later as we exited the Hoover Dam site, Big Horn Sheep made their appearance.
Call it a playground for Bambi and G-Men, where imaginary criminals are hunted and deer are the spectators.
The 547-acre FBI Academy, where some of America's best marksmen fire off more than 1 million bullets every month, happens to be one of the safest places for deer during hunting season

There was snow above the Red Rock mountains just north of Las Vegas this week as well as pictured in this photo as I headed to the airport.
Some added views at the airport in Las Vegas to include nostalgic murals there depicting Las Vegas of yesteryear:
And here is a separate mural of Fremont Street as it once was:
