Re: Getting ready to open 1973 and 1974 Topps BB wax
Well the 73 pack was a dud. Was a re-sealed pack. The gum was on one end but the gum stained card was on the opposite side. Corners were dinged up and one card had a crease. Also suspect was the fact that the card #'s were: 197 213 234 249 251 252 253 260 262 294 Oh well, lets hope better luck with the 74 pack -
Re: Jim Sinclair - The US dollar is toast. Gold is headed to $1650 – $1764 now.
He's got until early 2011 to make $1650 which he made that prediction in 2002 when gold was a mear $260 an ounce. I wouldn't want to bet agaist him he's always been on the leading edge. It's' a very makeable tarket IMO and he bet anyone a million dollars it would make it, I don't think he had any takers. -

Re: How to be the safest with paypal? Please contribute.
Another thing to remember about needing signature confirmation for anything $250 and over. You might think that "Well, it's $260, so I'll be stuck $10 if I get stiffed and I don't get DC, I ain't gonna worry about getting DC on this shipment." - That would be mistaken...if it's $250 and over you're out for the FULL amount,… -
Re: Roanoke, VA Card Show Saturday.
Cool, I'll be there Saturday. Guess I should look at my calendar before I post, lol. If you get an idea of where your table may be, let me know and I'll stop by. I'll be easy to spot, I'm 6'3" 260 and ugly. If my wife tags along I'll be the ugly guy with the pretty wife who will be nagging me to go the GAP with her. -
Re: What is your current focus?
I am currently working on a 1958 Topps Baseball raw, I'm down to 3 cards I need 260 Frank Malzone, 324 Hoyt Wilhelm, and 438 Whitey Herzog....if you have them pm me. Next on the list is 1959 Topps Baseball and 1977 Topps baseball. I decided to work my way forward and backward and meet somewhere in the middle. -
Re: How about that Ichiro?
Like Dave, it's been great to watch him here in Seattle for the last 10 years. Before he began the 2001 season people were saying how he wouldn't hit major league pitching and would be lucky to hit .260 in a season. He proved everyone wrong and has been a absolute professional his whole career. Congrats to him on a amazing… -
Re: 1954 Wilson Franks (EX) set SOLD #6 on registry
D and Shane - I've also been looking at this series and was going for a card this week (item 290223371910) - Richards, creased with dog ears but centered - and it went for 260 + shipping....Did I miss something? Low pop common, sure. But worth $300 as a PSA 3? I figured it would reach a bit more than the same graded Hack… -
Re: Dan Carrs latest
From Dan's Production Blog: "Die crack on reverse started early as a thin vertical line on shield, then gradually became more severe. Final die state also has a crack from the center to the 'C' of AMERICA." Since the die crack "started early", I think that means most of the 260 minted (high-grade die pair 1) have a reverse… -
Re: Bonds or Griffey
The steroid epidemic didn't exist in baseball until the early 90's or later. All one must do is look at the back of the cards and look at the weight of the top players. When Jose Canseco was a rookie is card said either 185 or 195. Barry Bonds was in the same range. Then the number began to balloon and Jose at his biggest…
