Re: Would you consider sending this 1885 Nickel to NCS?
<< <i>Well, cutting to the chase, I like the coin. It's certainly rare enough. My personal choice, as I said, would be to sell it into this market and buy a more stable coin. But....keeping it.....still leaves you in a fair-ta-middlin situation. You have a rare attractive coin in a good holder that carries the grade… -
Re: How is the market for V nickels?
Prethen Veteran Posts: 717 Joined: Dec 2004 Tuesday April 19, 2005 6:34 PM (NEW!) I think they're a great series and I don't think they're particularly overvalued. The keys are a bit pricey and I often see them in very low grades. Go after the keys first (1885, 1886, 1912-S) in the highest grade you can afford, most of the… -

Re: Two Vermont NewP's off ebay last night......
Hi Ambro51, I am enjoying watching your Vermont collection take shape! I can't believe I let that Vermont RR-19 get by me. You would have probably still won it, but you would have paid more for it ;-) .... I spent a minute looking at the hole, and didn't bother attributing the variety! RR-19's normally come on very bad… -
annual physical yesterday, which afforded me the opportunity to talk covid-19/sports with my doc
first of all, i don't know if any of you have been to a doctor during the pandemic, but it was quite the experience for me. the moment i set foot in the medical building (not my dr's actual office), i was placed in front of a firing squad. once my answers were deemed satisfactory and my temp checked out, i proceeded to his… -

Naturally I am happy with the Bonds, 9's and 10, the 1972 basketball, and the Elway 9. I was disappointed with a few, especially the 78 Stargell which I thought was a 10 easy, but overall I am happy with the grades. 1 1972 TOPPS 84 VINCE COLBERT N/A 9 2 1972 TOPPS 700 BOBBY MURCER IA N/A 8 3 1972 O-PEE-CHEE 420 STEVE… -
You have received the "5,000 likes" badge
I forget sometimes that the PCGS board awards badges for receiving a certain number of "LOL"s , "Agrees", or "Likes". Probably a lot of you weren't aware or don't care, or both :) But apparently (if I'm reading the software correctly) there are only 19 board members who have received 5,000 likes on their posts since this… -
New Member with British coins, any value to them?
Monday July 19, 2004 10:06 PM (NEW!) I just sold a collection for a person and they had about 200 British coins that they just wanted to make disappear. I told them that I had no buyers for the British coins and was uninformed as to their value. The US part of their collection brought much more than they excepted, and when… -
Concerns over COVID-19 appear poised to really affect sporting events.
Governor Mike DeWine of Ohio is requesting that major sporting events be held without crowds, similar to talk in the NBA. They are targeting Colleges which would mean the Dayton Regional for NCAA March Madness. MLB is only some 3-4 weeks away from the start of the season. I'm not sure whether I agree with the strategy but…
