Biggest Meh dam 4 boxes.... 2 boxtoppers, 2 63 buybacks, Pujols Chrome, 4 Game Used, an Aaron Seat Relic, 4 image swaps, and one color swap that I know of (Pujols). Didn't catch any SSPs, but I need to sort these first. No ink...

I can't figure out why topps doesn't try to do a better a job with seeding of the SPs, especially now when they have so many other chase cards and SSPs. How can you get 3 SPs and be missing a base card or two?

Please Topps, help the collector out......

Picked up 2 hobby boxes yesterday with nothing better than usual.

Got 6 blasters from Walmart this morning to open now. Scanner is ready, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Just opened blaster #2 of 5, and hit a Luis Aparicio blue auto. image

Must be a hot blaster case these came from. Funny thing is that these 5 blasters came from Walmart, but there are Target red borders in here instead of Walmart blue boarders.

It really stinks that the four insert sets are not numbered this year (way to go Topps). They're all by initials.

I'm confused, what are the SSP's?

according to geordie's list these are the errors:
15 Darwin Barney (missing pos on front)
    29 1962 rookies
    54 1962 rookies
113 Kerry Wood (wrong pic on front)
231 Dan Haren (worng pic on front)
    341 Ryan Madson
    341 Ryan Madson
    380 Carlos Pena
454 Julio Teheran (no white box on back)
    483 Mike Stanton

but what about this ortiz on ebay?

well, Jim - this is the first year I've ever seen Topps announce error cards as the set was being released. Looks like there are some SSPs out there that they're being coy about.

edit: codes are different on the bottom, too
  • parkerjparkerj Posts: 1,098 ✭✭✭
    ok, figures....

anyone doing relics or need the buybacks or panels? if not i'm putting them on the bay sunday night.

    Hi Mike. >>

    Hello Nick
  • On the #356 card of Adrian Beltre / David Ortiz, my initial thoughts are that may be when Topps posted the checklist of shortprints, they accidentally listed Ryan Madson twice and maybe this card should have been listed as a SSP instead.

ChasHawk, opening buybacks at some point , still have a couple boxes to go.

I have a Josh Reddick #355 & the RBI stats on the back are wrong.....I checked 2 cards so far & both the same also code is regular.....uncorrected error?

    Craig,

I do not think Topps listed Ryan Madson twice in error. I believe there are 2 SSP cards of Ryan Madson.
  • One is the regular card, one is the SSP with the team name in black letters, what would the other one be?

Both Madson variations had to do with lines in the small picture circle. You are right about the Ortiz, just a color swap variation with different card #
