My sincerest condolences to his family, including those of us on the Forum. I had the occasion to share some photo editing techniques with Lou, and his humor poured from those words. He will be missed greatly.
Condolences to Lou's family, friends and those of us who knew him from here. He was one of the great guys, and the handful of PM's we exchanged as well as the discourse here will be missed. RIP.
I did not know Lou on a personal level, but I always appreciated his knowledge and his level headed approach on the boards... not to mention the lovely coins that he posted. He definitely was a gentleman, and I wish his loved ones well.
This is dreadful news Although I only saw him at the occasional coin show I considered him a friend and his sense of humor and knowledge of the Shield nickel series will be sorely missed. My prayers go out to his family.
Wow, just like that. I'd see his posts at least once a week in the threads I'd open up, here. This is terrible. My sincerest condolences to his family.
I too am saddened to hear of our loss. I echo the sentiments that IGWT was one of the good guys. Though we never met we got along well via the internet. RIP.
Lou and I gave eachother quite a bit of crap back and forth since he was a shield nickel collector and I was a liberty nickel guy, but the best of all was when he took TDN's avatar and made a few posts. Within seconds of posting a response along the lines of "since when have you ever even wanted a shield nickel?" to who I thought was TDN I caught my mistake and PM'd him telling him that he "SUCKKKKKK"ed... his response:
"I might SUCKKKKKK, but you're the SUCKKKKERRRRRR. "
Lou, we will miss you.
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!
Oh, this is very sad news. I had always hoped to meet Lou at a show but never had the opportunity. I always enjoyed his contributions here.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends. From reading the posts it was obvious he was universally liked.
RIP, Lou. You will be missed.

Like a few others here, I am 48, and it really is a reminder of how fragile this life is.

I will deeply miss his unending enthuisam for Shield Nickels. I am sure he inspired many to collect them.

This should not happen to someone that young, especially one with a wife and kids.
Say a prayer for IGWT and his family.
