    Another of my favorites. This, from the John Jay Pittman Collection (Heritage called it AU/UNC). It is fully UNC in my opinion (with some weakness of strike on the obverse).



    1773 8 Reales (original blazing UNC). They don't come much better than this (1st year of Portrait).

    Here is another of my 8's.

    1791 Bolivia 8 Reales (very, very tough in the higher grades). Could go 58 or 61, depending on the grader and his mood that day.
    Struck on larger flans (1789-1792), hence the inherent reverse weakness.

    This coin is so cool with the die cracks and surprisingly mark-free for a PCGS MS64. I love coins that have bang for the buck. image

    Thanks Roman. I didn't want to start posting when I finally decided to stop lurking behind the shadows because; 1) I was too new here and didn't want to make a huge splash early on and 2) my photography skills were poor at best. This is just a fraction of my Potosi/Bolivia. I've been aggressive with this country since 2004 so I be 'showing off' for Bolivia bragging rights as soon as I retrieve the major portion of my collection (out on collateralized loan) in the ensuing months. In the meantime, there is still a bit more in my arsenal. BTW, I always love to see your stuff! Keep them coming!

    My newp from the Bowers (Ponterio) Baltimore World auction and one of my two 1985 Mexico 1 Onza end roll toners (toning is real as I own the original roll).

    Well... it's gotta be Thursday somewhere, right? I really like the provisional coins from Peru. This is the Heritage auction description:
    Provisional Government 8 Reales 1823JP, KM136, XF40 NGC, problem free and about as high grade as is available for this type.
