Does your table always reflect light on your window blinds?

joestalin · February 26, 2009 5:01AM

In the time it took Zep to set that up and take a pic I would of had 3 boxes opened and scaned!

I'm sorting as I rip so it's going a little slow - nothing great yet but I love the cards.

Uphill · February 26, 2009 5:15AM

I hope you rip them all before a game comes on that you'll want to watch.

TNP777 · February 26, 2009 5:18AM

8 insert
1 GU (Youkilis)
1 black refractor (Youkilis)

Initial observations from both of us - beautiful set!

HeritageAddict · February 26, 2009 5:29AM

Geordie, glad you finally made it.

matthewbschultz83 · February 26, 2009 7:11AM

Zep if you get a Hamilton could you include in your next series of scans? I have a serious man crush on this guy! Thanks.

zep33 · February 26, 2009 7:18AM

will do - haven't seen one yet though

ssdawg77 · February 26, 2009 7:21AM

I got my cases in today. I was to impatient to do a live rip on the first case so here are some pictures of the carnage. I will get some scans up later and begin case 2 after I have dinner and sort case 1.

Here you go:

Does anyone see the "Big Hit"?

matthewbschultz83 · February 26, 2009 7:22AM

Joe Stalin, was your Hamilton card you got dupes of a base card or insert? Thanks.

zep33 · February 26, 2009 7:30AM

I see a Mantle seat - nice pull

HeritageAddict · February 26, 2009 7:34AM

Nice Mantle and Red auto under him, are there also 3 black refractors there?

ssdawg77 · February 26, 2009 7:45AM

You guys see correct. There is a Mantle seat relic, Art Schult red auto 27/60 and 3 black refractors(Gallardo,DrewTeixeira). Here are some scans of these as well as the chrome refractors and game used. There are two Willis gu, the second was not scanned.

ssdawg77 · February 26, 2009 7:52AM

Here is a better scan of the Mantle.

TNP777 · February 26, 2009 7:57AM

Case summary:

95 SPs w/ 27 dupes (missing 7 SPs)
11 GU w/ 2 dupes (Manny & Uggla)
2 black (Youk & Gallardo)
1 blue ink Terwilliger
11 refractors
52 chrome including 14 dupes
Insert sets complete w/ exception of TN10

Two boxes were shorted the guaranteed relic or auto. Joe is cutting out the UPCs as I type.

Fun rip. Disappointing to not get a complete set w/ SPs. I'm not coming home with any Dodgers since I will be busting my case in a few days. Joe did give me very nice surprise which I'll be scanning when I get home.

HeritageAddict · February 26, 2009 8:07AM

Thanks for the rip Geordie, but when you do your case there better be scans.

I guess Joe needs to get his trade list together this year!

HeritageAddict · February 26, 2009 8:14AM

Mike, what seems to be the problem? 2 boxes in 3 hours, or did you pass out from excitement when you pulled the cut auto?

zep33 · February 26, 2009 8:24AM

box 3

8 SPs
4 reg chrome
2 ref - Quentin, Saunders

2 buy backs so far and both in better shape than any that I pulled last year

joestalin · February 26, 2009 8:29AM

Looks good everyone! That Tex black refractor is going to do very well!!!

Kevin

zep33 · February 26, 2009 8:41AM

I'm still chugging along, taking my time, enjoying the rip.

cooking some din-din and cracking box 4 now

HeritageAddict · February 26, 2009 8:44AM

Zep, the number 1 rule of the Heritage thread is no break for eating until the case is finished.

<< I'm still chugging along, taking my time, enjoying the rip.

who has time to eat during a case rip? LOL

zep33 · February 26, 2009 9:07AM

<< Zep, the number 1 rule of the Heritage thread is no break for eating until the case is finished.

>>

LOL - this is a 2 case rip, I need my strength

3rd case somewhere in transit too (I hope)

card # 95 - Aramis Ramirez only has his first name on the card - everyone else's like that too?

DavidPuddy · February 26, 2009 9:46AM

<< cooking some din-din >>

Din-din? Did you just say Din-din?

zep33 · February 26, 2009 9:48AM

why yes, yes I did. Kinda strange huh? sorry about that

however, I did not capitalize the d twice

Knopfler · February 26, 2009 9:49AM

Does dinner=Topps Bubble Gum??

joestalin · February 26, 2009 9:53AM

3 Armais and they are all the same just first name.

I have put all my cards in order and out of 6 boxes I was able to get every card under 425. Does this mean there are no lower # SP's..no. Some of the cards
I had 3-4 of and some only 1. Anyone pull a bunch of Ellsbury?

So far from what I can see there have been no variations on the fronts. I also noticed that while putting the cards in order in a box I like to have the number
on the back sticking up, so when I look through the box I can see the numbers better (rather than being on the top), this works fine except for the manager
cards which are upside down.

I still am baffled that there is no real one autograph checklist.

Kevin

DavidPuddy · February 26, 2009 9:54AM

There's no din-din.
There's no supper.
no lupper
no dinner.
no linner
no lunch
brunch
breakfast

None of it. Just RIP!

zep33 · February 26, 2009 10:01AM

box 4:

8 SPs
4 reg chrome
1 ref. (Gamel)
another nice buyback

Do we really need 3 Carmona autos?

SidePocket · February 26, 2009 10:21AM

Keep ripping guys, you are going to have to help me complete my set again this year. Will be looking locally on Saturday, probably start with 2 or 3 boxes.

Beautiful set, right there with the 59s last year.

Mark

Mick65 · February 26, 2009 10:21AM

I wonder if Topps is holding back some of the bigger name autos to boost update sales in the fall-
