    That Griffey is gorgeous.

  • << <i>This thread is so much fun to watch right now.

So it looks like there are no variations in the master set...we're just looking at 500 cards this year? That shouldn't be as much of a pain to put together as last year. >>

Its still only the first day. I am positive there will be variations.
  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
So far it looks like 500 + the insert sets and you are done, but Im not about to start loading up my sheets just yet! You really can't tell much off just 6
    boxes. There will be more!

On another note, I just checked the topps site to see what was supposed to be in the product with what actually is, and I am a bit disappointed. This is the
second topps product that has come out with much less than what was promised. There was suppose to be game used cards of Pujols, Musial, Mantle and
Maris here, but they are no where to be seen. Im not sure what is going on over at topps. You can't keep doing this and expect to survive. Still a nice
    rip!

Maybe they were referring to the Update set.
  • Well, it looks like there are a few more listings on the bay from at least three different people and all from Florida. Hey Knopflers, they should Texas first next year, right??? image

Boy, the chromes sure don't scan very nice, but I wanted to point out that there have been Loney & Kershaw sightings!

    Geordie

I actually pulled a load of Dodger chromes including a Kershaw refractor. Ill save them for you if you want them.

  • TNP777TNP777 Posts: 5,710 ✭✭✭
yes, I would like them. I obviously won't know what chrome I need until my retail shipment arrives. I don't think I'll do the blacks this year, but that might change as soon as I see one in person tomorrow.

You have to get lucky this year and have someone pull you a black chrome dodger. Im sure that someone will pull a Kershaw for you. I wonder if Man Ram
is pictured in his Dodger uni for the relic card? The All Star high # SP has him as a Red Sox.

    Kevin
  • I wonder where Magellan and Pharber are this year.

Dave was quite active in last years A&G. You hate to think he has given it up. I sent him a PM. John Basilone told me he wasn't going to buy any this year...of course
    I don't believe him! LOL

  • mudflap02mudflap02 Posts: 2,060 ✭✭
    MAN RAM reporting for duty.

  • mudflap02mudflap02 Posts: 2,060 ✭✭
I will probably be buying a box or two when my local shop gets it in. I don't see myself ordering a case at those odds. I did finally pull my first black refractor in Heritage update (a Darrell Rasner /59), but it would still be nice to pull one from the regular issue.

Instead of preordering boxes, I bought myself 2 Heritage singles for roughtly the same price. I'm firing up the scanner now.
  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
    Hey Jeff!!

Glad you could make it. 08 Heritage High # was loaded!

can't wait to see some scans!

Where the heck is Pumpsie? Oh, and Jason - haven't seen him around in a while. Won't be long for either I'd guess.

  • mudflap02mudflap02 Posts: 2,060 ✭✭
This one hasn't arrived yet, so it's an ebay scan. I was very happy to have won it for under $60 delivered. The first one I bought, which I sold, cost me over $100.

nevermind - your picture shows now.

    Nice Clemens, Jeff!

Somebody just listed a Russell Martin chrome, and they are located in California. So we've got FL and CA with Heritage sitings now.
  • kmnortonkmnorton Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭
Pumpsie now officially reporting for duty, sir. Local shops tell me tomorrow the eagle lands (well, my hometown local says tomorrow, my work local, who is cheaper, says Friday). Can I start the Dodger baiting now, Geordie? (whew!)

I know Jason is alive and should be reporting for duty as well very soon.

Second card I bought. I would rather have this than 99% of what I can pull from a box of 09.

If anyone has doubles of worthless 'Stros cards, I'll gladly take them off your hands. They will be used for Spring Traning TTMs.

    Thanks in advance.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Alive and well, but on the road until next Thursday, so I'll be a little late to the party. I wonder if London will get any retail...

ok gang, I'm out the door. In about three hours I'll be at Joe's looking to help him rip & do some sorting of his case. I'm hoping for something big - I'd love to witness the pulling of something truly awesome from Heritage. I'll try to report in as things progress.

Hey guys...the cards and scans are looking great. Keep 'em coming!

As I said earlier, I'd love to put together the All-Star subset. Does anyone have a group of singles they'd be willing to sell me?

Also, who's in the rookie card subset? I might put that one together, too.

I can deal whatever I have doubles of. Right now I only have doubles of Josh Hamilton. The rookie set is spread all over, looks kinda big to me. IM sure people
    will have some to trade!

    Kevin
  • Hmmm....Josh Hamilton...Sounds perfect for a Rangers fan like me!

    So retail is out already?
  • Hey guys. This is my first post here. I really like the look of the 1960 Topps design so I've decide to do the set. I was excited when I saw that Kevin got some boxes already and thought there might be some more in the area. I did a search at lunch and apparently he bought the only 6 in Jacksonville. Anyway maybe I'll have some luck finding some tomorrow. I look forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully doing some trading to help complete this set. Anyone know when retail will be released?
