1) It eventually happens to anyone who sells any volume. 2) The pictures aren't that bad. I've seen much worse. 3) Leaving "negative" positive feedback doesn't accomplish anything. No one reads it, and you've given him a positive. 4) Is it against Ebay's policies for him to solicit emails in his feedback to continue to trash a seller? 5) Blocked, thanks.
Well, since the buyer put his e-mail address out there I decided to e-mail him for kicks....want to hear "the other side."
What I wrote: About the 1935 Merc. I'd like to hear your side of the story because right now you sound like an impatient guy who didn't contact the seller before leaving a negative which is very poor form. What exactly happened? *(I signed the e-mail "J.")
His response: J, I'm not sure who J is but it would be nice to have a name to go with your initial. Due to the fact that the claim/case at PayPal has now been turned over to PayPal, I will reserve some commentary until the claim/case is concluded. I will keep your email handy to reply when I have the conclusion to the claim. PS. I prefer to share info. with those whose names I have in advance. Hi Ken,
No. Not interested at all. I do a very very small amount of my buying on eBay just for this very reason. There are a bunch of little beeches on eBay who get off on second guessing people's decisions. And, they do very little in the way of looking into what drove the decision to be made for leaving negative feedback. I just left more negative feedback for another seller of mine for sending me 2 coins that are gouged and yet the reflection from his light source is positioned just right and the coin is set just right to bounce the light source off the coin right on the location of the gouge. I have 2 examples of this occurrance with the same seller. Oops. 3 if you include ROMA. I intend to continue working with eBay management and with their security department to clean up eBay's coin auctions and those who think they are fooling eBay shoppers. THEY SHOULD "THINK AGAIN !" ... THERE'S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN : ) ... GET USED TO IT !
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I love to see the results taking hold. IT'S FEAR THAT YOU ARE READING IN THEIR COMMENTS ABOUT ME. WHY ELSE WOULD THEY BE WRITING IN RESPONSE TO ANOTHER PERSON'S FEEDBACK OF A SELLER FOR TRICK LIGHTING AND PHOTOGRAPHY USAGE. THESE EBAYERS ARE MOST PROBABLY DOING THE SAME AS ORV AT ROMA. ORV IS NOT THE ONLY ONE PULLING THIS CRAP. TAKE A LOOK AROUND...I CAN COUND AT LEAST 2 DOZEN OTHER SELLERS PULLING THE SAME TRICK LIGHTING SCAM ON EBAY. They have all been reported and they know who they are. End of comment.
Have a good one.

My comment to this is that most people on ebay are NOT professional photographers and shouldn't be held to that kind of a standard. I would strongly suggest that if Mr. Negative is that fussy about coins he should only buy them after holding them in his hands. Then there's the matter that the mercury dime was slabbed and graded by PCGS. 67 wasn't it? Doesn't a grade of 67 indicate NOT PERFECT???!!!!
There are some goofy folks out there. It's one thing to buy a graded 67 and really receive a VF but it's another thing entirely to do what this fellow is doing.
Sorry. I bought something from ROMA last week and bought something again this week. I see no problem here. None.
Here's an idea. Why doesn't everybody who has blocked this guy send him an email telling him he is blocked from their auctions and why? Maybe then he will ease up on the negative feedback towards sellers. To not even contact a seller when there is a problem is just not how Ebay works and he should be educated in this fact.
<< <i>Here's an idea. Why doesn't everybody who has blocked this guy send him an email telling him he is blocked from their auctions and why? Because then he might use an alt ID and mess up my perfect score.
What you're seeing with this guy and his negatives is cyber rage. That toolhaus site is great.I use it all the time to make decisions about whether I want to buy from someone or not.
Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
What a paranoid nut case, as evidenced by his "new Sheriff in town" mentality. I find it hard to believe that a PCGS MS-67 would have the "litany of problems" that need to be concealed by advantageous lighting in the first place. What a joke. Sorry this happened to you.
"College men from LSU- went in dumb, come out dumb too..." -Randy Newman
Here's an update - the coin came back yesterday, the claim was paid and we are RID of him. A negative wasn't the problem, it's just the principle of the whole eBay/PayPal set-up being so screwed up.
The coin is interesting, and will be shown to PCGS. Most times we don't look so closely at MS67FB's and wouldn't have noticed it. It's one I'd actually like to own if I collected them.
I think if someone files a dispute with PP, they should be asked by them first if they've contacted the seller (OR buyer) and tried to work things out before they (PP) get involved. No, they just grab your money, and any terms you had set in your auction are out the window. To me an auction is a contract. When they hit "submit", they've agreed to the terms and will abide by them. Maybe in the old days.

I blocked him a long time ago, as I remember, he is from San Diego, he brought a PCGS coin from me and I meet him to deliver the coin, the next day he says he wants a refund and I did met him again to give him a refund.
Then he started to e-mail all my bidders saying that I sell fake PCGS coins or PCGS coins are fakes and they do not know how to grade, I complaint to Ebay and it did nothing. So I started putting his name and his false information in all my listings so my bidders will know.
You might want to do the same in case he is e-mailing your bidders also.

Hi, This is to provide information on an item your are currently bidding on.
Word to the wise. I have purchased from this seller before and the error coins did not weigh the standard mint weight. The case needs to weigh 30 grams and the coin needs to weigh 8.0 grams, for a combined weight of 38.0 grams. This sellers graded coin weighs far less than the standard weight. I personally weighed 3 of his PCGS graded coins and weight was at least .75 grams LESS THAN the standard combined weight for the case and coin. PCGS has admitted to me that they do not weigh the coins in their grading process. This means that they are not screening for weight variance. Sorry to have to tell you this, but I don't want to see anyone get screwed like I did from this seller. I welcome any questions you may have in this regard.
