He may be a good dude and I understand people come on hard times. But myself and a few others have offered to help and have not heard anything back. This idea came about after a very successful Christmas exchange and so far this has not been nearly as successful in my opinion.
Since I have been all paid up for a month could you update the list to reflect that Arny?

If it makes you feel any better, he hasn't got back with me either.

I don't think anyone has heard from Arny since his last post....which, by the way, was over a week ago.
Thanks! This will make things a lot easier on me.
I'll go ahead and send some PMs with some 'assignments' as early as tomorrow evening. Details to come on the PMs that I send. Thanks again everyone! .
Am I the only one who thinks that if this is not going to work out, or if Arny has other commitments that keep him from leading this, then those who have received "nothing" should at least get their money back? Not trying to bash Arny here, but this was a big undertaking. With the birthdayers that Arny has started to buy for, finish them out and send refunds back to everyone else.
I notice he updated the list Saturday and noted he shipped a few gifts.

It shows it was updated the 22nd, and one of the Dec. birthday did say, bought and waiting to ship or something like that.
Edit to add: It was leadoff4 that said bought and shipping soon or something. I think one of the notes on another was changed as well.

Alright guys, I'm back. Was away (I believe I mentioned it before, but if I didn't, I'm sorry about that. ) for a few days and I returned just less than an hour ago.
Believe me, I understand that some of you feel 'worried' about things as I would in this situation. I've dropped the ball as it has been noted and I hope that I can make it up to folks. I'm off tomorrow and I'm planning on getting things going again by sending all of the information to my volunteers (have five of them if I recall correctly) and assigning them items to look for.
The basic premise is if you win something for 'me', then I'll pay via my PayPal. That way, you don't spend your money and we have to get into the reimbursing of PayPal fees, etc.
By the way, I've sent some presents that have not been posted here. So, of course it 'looks' even worse than what it is (if that's possible ).
Talk to you all soon!

You mentioned there were some PayPal issues on your side. Does this mean they are all resolved?
Also, some may be concerned (understandably so) that after they win an auction, their feedback is in your hands. Another issue may come from the Seller with two different accounts involved in the transaction.
Think a little elaboration will ease any lingering fears.

Nope...never an issue with PayPal. I had (and still have) an issue with eBay and my userID being 'suspended' because of some miscommunication.
So, we should be fine with that piece of it.
Thanks for all the well wishes and your thoughts....things are getting back in order and I should be back to 'normal' (whatever that is! ) soon.

I understand where you're coming from and I trust you, arny. I've been one of the few giving benefit of the doubt and have said so in numerous PMs asking about you.
Having said that, I would much rather have the funds in my account just in case. In fact, I'll gladly eat whatever PayPal fees that come with it just so I don't have to worry about possible miscommunications, delays, etc.

Next time anyone does this maybe it would be better if you rotate who does the buying/shipping?
Example, The first person on the list is bought for and shipped by the last person. The first person then buys and ships to the second and so on. This way not anyone person has to do all this work. Just an idea if you guys intend on doing this again. Of course this only works if you have an even number of folks.
Also I noticed that this list had a bunch of guys all around the same date if my memory is correct. And that could have made the OP's job tuff!
Good luck the rest of the way and of course Happy Birthday to you all!
Guys, I've gone ahead and sent out a couple of "assignments" which should catch us up and put us ahead into July. Once we get these settled, then I'll call on a couple of you that have extended a hand to help.

Maybe this has been updated recently. I'm still not sweating it but there were suggestions in the beginning to have each of us responsible for buying 1 gift instead of Arny having to buy all of them. Hopefully, he's getting some help and will get this cleaned up soon.

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
i still dont think this is right there is no way mark at least should not of gotten his item...dec 8th is a long time ago..my bday just passed and if you didnt get yours whats the chance of me getting mine...i have also offered to help and imed arnie 3 times now and no response..i also had some racks that he wanted and have heard nothing back...i understand things happen but dec thats 4 months ago...i dont know if anyone else thinks im wrong but to me this isnt good...
I received a PM from Arny last week with a few assignments and I'm watching for items to pop up that fall into the "wants" of the people I've been assigned. I have been looking daily and have had no luck thus far. This process may sound straightforward in theory, but it's a little more involved than just buying a gift and shipping it out.
I'm confident that Arny has the best of intentions and isn't going to stiff anyone on their gift.

what would be reassuring is the task breakdown in terms of what help Arny is getting, what help Arny still needs and at least a weekly update since we seem to be 8 cards late which is not a confidence builder. Is it just a logistics problem in terms of locating the right cards or does the problem run deeper? I feel like we're sort of in the dark but maybe I missed an update or two.
