Happy Belated Birthday to me! (and to leadoff4, since his birthday hasn't been publicly acknowledged either)
I received my gift today! I am the proud owner of a 1981 Topps Cello box. I will do a box rip on a separate thread to share my gift with everyone. I'll post scans of the highlights here this weekend.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
I was tempted to open that box myself, but Steve Hart said that I shouldn't.
Thanks for the patience guys. I've had to resort to buying things now through my wife's PayPal ID because mine has been suspended since December 3rd and I've almost given up on trying to get it reinstated.
At any rate, I wanted to wish some Happy "Belated" Birthdays to those of you who had birthdays in the last few weeks....
leadoff4 - December 28th
samspop - January 3rd
....I'll have the initial post in the thread updated with gift info for all to see.

Here are the hits from the box. Scans will follow later this weekend once I get my scanner hooked back up.
Expos Future Stars (Tim Raines) 60/40 l/r, but otherwise very nice! Dodgers Future Stars (Scoscia/Valenzuela) 60/40 t/b, blotchy ink near Valenzuela’s name Mets Future Stars (Berenguer / Hubie Brooks / Mookie Wilson) shot at a 9 Kirk Gibson RC (60/40 l/r, but otherwise very nice!) Harold Baines RC - slight tilt and a surface bubble (x2…and both were in identical condition) Rickey Henderson (without the slight tilt, this one would have 9 written all over it) Gary Carter (strong 9…possibly a 10?) Robin Yount (has a shot at a 9) Jim Gantner (centering killed me on this one, but it's a nice addition to my raw collection)
All in all, this was a very fun box! Thanks to everyone who is participating in the birthday club for the great gift!
Boy, lots of those look great! Those '81s are tough to get 10s on, but even the 9s look solid. So, you might have more than just one or two 9s in that group. Congrats and I'm glad that you were happy with the rip!
I just got some mail yesterday which will allow me to send out two more birthday boys' gifts!
We're starting to roll!
Oh, and thanks to the couple of you that have been helping me search for some cards based on the 'wants' on the first page! I could use all the help I can get!

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Ahhh, the advantages to having a birthday the day before Valentine's Day.

Since Houston stars are in such great demand, I'm sure Arny is having a heck of a time finding some at reasonable prices.

The leap year is worse on me....my b-day is March 6th.
Just sent my final payment so I am square. Arnold originally set up payments so I would pay the final after my birthday but I wanted to be square before then.
Clear Skies, Mark

I think rube is the only one who has confirmed receipt of a gift. I haven't seen mine yet (Dec 25th b'day), but will post scans when I do.
