Finally got all of the birthday peeps! We just need MeteoriteGuy to send his birthday and we'll be done with Phase II of the process. image

Now, since we are nearly to Phrase III, I figured that we should just go to it. We need votes on three pieces of info.

    1 - (A) Do you want to contribute $5/person?
    (B) Or $10/person?

($5 means that we will contribute $100 and get a $100 card in return at birthday time and $10 means that we'll end up with a $200 gift)

    2 - (A) Should we pay all $100 (or $200) at once?
    (B) Or just do small contributions all year long?

3 - (A) Keep me, or someone, as organizer and treasurer to hold all of the funds?
    (B) Or 'rotate' who buys what for whom?

('rotate' means, for example, when it comes to my birthday, someone would simply buy the card for me and send it to me rather than 'waiting' for 20 $5 payments before making the purchase)

So, simply vote "A" or "B" for questions "1, 2 & 3" and majority wins.

    I'll start the voting with....

    1. A
    2. A
    3. A

11 total votes for an option or another means the vote is done on that particular question. Get to it! image

I would rather pay all money up front but i'm single with no kids. Some people may find paying in installments less of a burden, particularly after the holidays. Just my 2 cents.

    3. Sixteen "A" votes (GET R' DONE!)

.....it looks like the AAAs have it.

For those of you that voted as "B" on question #2, if you absolutely need a breakdown of the payment I can try and work with you. I just want to make it as easy as possible for me. But, you'll end up paying a little more than the $100 because of the PayPal fees.

By the way, is it okay with everyone if the payments go to me or did you want someone else holding the funds? (Not that I'm not trustworthy, just want to make sure that everyone agrees image )

We are now going to Phase IV of the Birthday Club process.

I will be sending PMs to all of the participants this evening to discuss your collecting needs and also to send you the PayPal address to send the payments. Remember, the quicker we get the payments in, the quicker Randy gets his gift and starts this mutha out! image

Mark is out (good luck buddy!) for some personal reasons and Alan is in. So, I have made the adjustment on the initial post of this thread. As well as a small fix on a birthday that I had incorrectly typed.

PMs for collecting choices (or specific cards that you already know you want) are going out shortly! image

Okay....PMs have been sent to those participating and I've already updated a couple of the 'collecting interests' in the initial post on the thread. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE keep your registry sets updated so that we don't pick up duplicates for you. It makes for a better birthday present if you actually want/need the card. image

Let the birthday club begin! image

Here are all of the birthdays in chronological order (please double check to make sure that it's correct!)....

Question: How are we going to have the funds to pay for all 8 million December birthdays?

And clarification to what I collect: I collect 1949 Bowman in PSA 5 or better.

Thanks all, this is going to be cool.

Sure hope this doesn't turn ugly.

Guys, you can make requests but don't have high expectations. As the saying goes, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If you are concerned about not getting a minimum grade, this probably isn't for you.

As a side note, this is not directed towards anyone in particular. I'm just saying since it has not been addressed yet.

Well it was directed at me, and that's okay.. I certainly didnt mean to sound "greedy"....

I was just thinking that, mathematically, everyone will end up getting their $100.00 back eventually, and for $100.00 I'd rather have one nice PSA 7 than three PSA 4's that's all.

I apologize if I sounded greedy, that was certainly not my intention, and thanks for bringing it up Stown.

I am collecting Carl Yastrzemski's basic set. I am on the registry as Clemaz's Carl Yastrzemski basic set. I have his 1972 and 1974 topps out for grading, so they do not show up on the registry yet. I also collect slabbed authenticated(DO not have to be graded) autographed Perez Steel Great Moments,. I like the blue labels but I am not picky I'll enjoy the one with red labels just as much. I have Berra, Musial, Spahn, Snider, Gehringer, Cool papa Bell, and Hubbell.

    I also like Lou Brock's 1962 and 1963 Topps

It wasn't directed at you, that's what "this is not directed towards anyone in particular" means.

Again, I'm only saying this because it has not been mentioned. In fact, it's the main/only reason why I did not participate in the gift exchange. Difference being that there is a set dollar amount to spend and everyone pays up.

My point being arny is putting a lot of work and effort into this. It would really tick me off if someone voiced their displeasure because of a grade or number of cards, rather than showing appreciation for being involved. It defeats the purpose of this thread: they are gifts, not something you purchase for yourself. If one wanted a particular card and had their hopes set on it, rather than depending on this group, just buy it and spare us/arny of a potential headache.
