I've been trying to stay away from the single blister packs because I've never done well with them myself, but Kevin's 2/10 made me take a chance on 4 blisters at my local Modells store. It's not as big as Kevin's pull, but I'll take it.
Well I had sworn off the blister packs, but after those two pulls I think I'll give them another try, the wife stopped at Walmart on her way home and grabbed 32 of them for me. If I have the same bad luck with these that I've been having I'm really done with the blisters....I swear. Wish me luck.
I bought pages for a binder and want to get started with this set. How many variations are there?

The Pirate combo cards are pretty direct copies from the '59 set. The '59 team card is a tough high number from that set. I was kind of bummed that the Pirates were excluded from the high-number SPs. I was hoping the team card would be an SP.
Is there a variation for Encarnacion or is that an uncorrected error?

I see your point and know how it's supposed to work but was thinking there's probably quite a few people that do still want both and it might work out well by doing that. I dunno yet if I'm even going to sell them but I could sure use the $$$
<< <i>maybe you should have cut it in half and sold them seperately >>
I guess if I followed my own advice, I would have.
I wonder if anyone on here bought my card?? I suppose since most of the responses were in the direction that the card wasn't worth that much (and honestly, I agree, but what do I know) it probably wasn't. Like I said, I saw one sell for $255, then one at $102, so it went for more than what I thought when I pulled it from the pack. I figured it was a $10 game used card.
Zep, I would definitely sell them separately for the biggest price. I just sold the Gibson dual today, took a best offer of $350, might could have gotten more but that's $246 more than I paid. Needless to say there was no real profit on the Gibson because I just got back from Walmart with 10 blasters.
Doran, you're incorrigible. I'm done with retail for this year , do have some bids on hobby boxes however.
Josh, the green backs that are numbered the same as the blackbacks are generally harder to pull than base cards. Those are the ones being referred to as semi SP's.
Really tried to play up that one sold for $255, but that one was two bidders going crazy. The other two I saw that had sold went for $102 and $50-something. Thought I'd throw up a number, I'm happy with what I received.
That's funny, I actually put a small bid on a Gibson/Edmonds auto a couple of days ago, I wonder if that's yours. If so don't get your hopes up, I low balled a bid just for fun.
Hey, what do you all consider a safe time limit in waiting on responses for trades??
I must have a bad case of bad breath, no one wants to respond to me.
There have been a couple of people who posted a want and need list, then I've PM'd them wanting to trade, and I'm getting no response. I simple "No thanks" would be fine.
But I'm wanting to trade to complete my set, but afraid I'll offend someone if I trade off cards I proposed to them before. If no response in a couple of days, is it alright to say heck with them and trade with someone else??
That's what I'm doing. If I PM someone offering a trade and get no response after 2-3 days, I'm moving on. I'm just trying to complete my set and help everyone else, too. If my offer isn't good enough, either a 'no thank you', or a 'let's try this...', but if I get no reply, it's no skin off my rosy nose.

This happens every year with heritage and A&G. We get down to the end and guys have completed their sets. There are always a few collectors who are left out. Im still looking for NAP 5, black chromes and autos. I have a good stack of SP's and a small stack of chromes. I haven't sorted all of my blacks and greens yet,but if you need those too let me know. The hardest part so far has been agreeing on value. If anyone wants to trade let me know!!!
It definately happened to a few of us this year, especially those who were screwed by eBay sellers. I alluded to the fact that by missing out on my cases, I'd lose out on trading. I think others have too, since most of the guys that received their cases on release date have long finished their sets.
I'm still about 35 base cards and 20 sp's short of my set. I'm trying to get some trades for my 10 chromes and several sp's I have to trade, but not having much luck.
I won't name names, but I matched up well with a couple of guys here who had a trade list up, sent them a PM, and haven't heard back. Perhaps they just got busy??
Ferrari,
Guess I'll do the same thing, just didn't want to get on anyone's bad side for a perceived lack of patience.
I still need to trade. I've sorted everything but haven't pulled my SPs out of my dupe box yet or even made a list. Probably by the time I get around to doing it, everyone will be done. lol
Hey all, I'm still up for trades. I will always respond to a pm. I don't need much now, but I'm open to adding more extra sp's to my stock. I'd love to give my ad panels to a good home.
Did you get good money for the dual relic? Id rather have cash back any day of the year! You gotta love getting 1/3rd of your case money back with one card!
You can name at least one name and I feel bad for the lack of manners on my part. I had all the intentions in the world and then mother-in-law and parents started visiting and work and blah, blah, blah. The easy part is putting my needs up, the hard part, for me at least is the damn sorting the doubles.
Enough. I hope you won't think ill of me and I'm setting time aside tonight for you, Brian and Dave's trade.
This is beginning to sound like one of Chris' old public apology threads. Don't worry, I have way too black of a heart to genuflect too much.
There are still plenty of great trades happening right now, and it's mostly with the true set collectors who are trying to put together their one personal set for their own collection.
BTW, Kmnorton is a class act all the way, so don't listen to him being so hard on himself...totally uncalled for.
Like I said earlier, people get busy, I understand that. No hard feelings. You're one of my favorites on here, just didn't know if I had offended anyone and was being blackballed, I just hope you feel the same way if you take the time to look for my cards, then find out I traded them away. I only wanted to know how long I should wait in response to a proposed trade. My list matched up nicely with your want list if I recall, I still hope I have all that you need. LMK.
Another problem is this. I had one member PM me, and I've sent two responses, but when I view my history, it still only shows his response. Perhaps some PM's aren't going through.
Kevin,
The dual sold once for $255. But I was shocked when it sold for $102, and another sold for $52 I think. I played up the $250 sale in my auction, then accepted a buy it now offer for $130.00. Perhaps I could've gotten more, but in reality, the $255 price was an aberration of two bidders, the $52 and $102 had more "normal" bidding. I think I did okay at $130 for a relic card with no auto. But who really knows?? I knew that money was available now, made it hard for me to come up with a trade value for it. No one in their right mind here would've traded me, let's say, 25 sp's for that card, but I can certainly buy that many now. I had to take the cash, and I appreciate guys like you and Geordie not making me feel bad for selling it.
I'm still here to trade too. I need about 35 basecards, 25 blackbacks, and 20 sp's for my set. I've only got a handful of sp's and about 10 chromes to trade, so I'll do what I can in the next week, then sell off the chromes to a member who's made me me an offer for cash.
I ALWAYS respond to PM's too, so if you don't get one from me, there's a problem.
Shawn, I've got the same thing happening to some of my PMs as well. I can send them to almost everyone, but 1 or two can send them my way but not receive them from me. Go figure...
If I've missed anybody I'm sorry, when the heat of trading hits it is easy to overlook a pm occasionally so if I haven't gotten back to someone that is probably why. Heather and Jim hopefully I can get back to you tonight, if not in the morning. I am still trying to sort the cards from the 10 blasters I bought today. Maybe if I could quit buying for a couple of days I could get ahead, but the Heritage addiction runs strong my friends and I am already thinking about where I can look tomorrow for more.
Shawn...I would of traded you 25 SP's for that card! LOL, oh well, cash is good. I usually get my set pretty fast and after that I spend my time picking up cards that I collect like the autos. Before this whole thing started I really only wanted one card and that was the Yogi real one. Of course I didn't pull one but two guys on here did and gave me great deals on it. Now I only need to pick up the Maz and Aparicio. Do you have any of the target cards? I need some of those.
anyone notice anythin new while looking through their binder? This years set was really amazing.
Thanks to Chris for supplying me with my last card.

Like I said, I saw one sell for $255, then one at $102, so it went for more than what I thought when I pulled it from the pack. I figured it was a $10 game used card.

If no response in a couple of days, is it alright to say heck with them and trade with someone else??
shawn
That's what I'm doing. If I PM someone offering a trade and get no response after 2-3 days, I'm moving on. I'm just trying to complete my set and help everyone else, too. If my offer isn't good enough, either a 'no thank you', or a 'let's try this...', but if I get no reply, it's no skin off my rosy nose.

LOL that's mine want me to cut it in half?
collectors who are left out. Im still looking for NAP 5, black chromes and autos. I have a good stack of SP's and a small stack of chromes.
I haven't sorted all of my blacks and greens yet,but if you need those too let me know. The hardest part so far has been agreeing on
value. If anyone wants to trade let me know!!!
Kevin

Did you get good money for the dual relic? Id rather have cash back any day of the year! You gotta love getting
1/3rd of your case money back with one card!
Kevin
You can name at least one name and I feel bad for the lack of manners on my part. I had all the intentions in the world and then mother-in-law and parents started visiting and work and blah, blah, blah. The easy part is putting my needs up, the hard part, for me at least is the damn sorting the doubles.
Enough. I hope you won't think ill of me and I'm setting time aside tonight for you, Brian and Dave's trade.
This is beginning to sound like one of Chris' old public apology threads. Don't worry, I have way too black of a heart to genuflect too much.
Kurt
I ALWAYS respond to PM's too, so if you don't get one from me, there's a problem.
thanks guys.
shawn
I've got the same thing happening to some of my PMs as well. I can send them to almost everyone, but 1 or two can send them my way but not receive them from me. Go figure...

time picking up cards that I collect like the autos. Before this whole thing started I really only wanted one card and that was the Yogi
real one. Of course I didn't pull one but two guys on here did and gave me great deals on it. Now I only need to pick up the Maz
and Aparicio. Do you have any of the target cards? I need some of those.
anyone notice anythin new while looking through their binder? This years set was really amazing.
Thanks to Chris for supplying me with my last card.
