The perez cards are 4 per blaster box, but putting the set together was a bear as coallation was awful. I had a stack of 40 cards, but only
one set. There is one thing I have always learned about heritage on ebay. The firsts always go for much more than they are worth as
there is a small percentage of people who want to put this set together as soon as possible, at whatever cost. I still think I was a little
    late..oh well.

40 BIN on the smoltz..wow, that will prove to be the deal of the century. Most of the ones I have seen on ebay are o/c. I would find
it hard to pay that much for a smoltz and in that condition. Has anyone here pulled one?

I haven't but if I could find a decent price on a case I might give it another try.

Sorry if this has been discussed already. Can anybody on this thread that has pulled or bought a Smoltz variation confirm if the spelling is also wrong on the back?

Zep pulled a Smoltz and a Santana from his case. I think he's the only one that's pulled a Smoltz. Plenty of guys here have pulled a Santana.

    Naturally, Zep pulled both!

Any word yet on the color variations of the Looper?

Nick, yes it is. I was just going to post that fact in response to Kevin's comment that most of the Smoltz variations that have been put up are not centered very well. Mine sure isn't.

edit: I think it would have been cool if they would have changed him from a righty to a lefty on the back of the variation as well.

    Hey guys,

I've plowed through 5 hobby boxes so far and think I have just one more in my future for tonight. Personally I've been real disappointed with the collation. The black backs are killing me (60 of 110 with 58 more dupes) and I swear if I get one more Cepeda or Hawaii Flashback I'm gonna scream. Although I did pull my first auto, Bill Renner (woo-hoo who?)

Anyways, I had a few questions.

What are all the known variations? I know the Smoltz, and the Looper (although not sure which is the variation, orange or red). What is the Santana variation and are there any others to keep an eye out for.

I've also seen some talk about semi-SP green backs. Is there a listing of these somewhere?

Thanks in advance. Hopefully I'll have a trade list up later tomorrow.
    Travis

So far the only real variations are the Santana Mets card, the Smoltz, I'm not sure the looper is actually an intentional variation or just a color variance like some of last years cards. The semi-sp green backs are the same numbers as the black back set.

I feel lucky. As soon as I heard from Kevin that Topps said smoltz was rare, i scooped one up at $46. Mine is also somewhat off-centered....but I'm not that picky.

My dealer here has two cases of heritage for 708. Im not sure if that is a great price compared to ebay. If someone is interested
I can give you the info. I might want to split a case, but probably just buy a few boxes.

Don't have much of a trade list worked up yet, but I need multiples of the following cards. I need both green and black version of each, probably up to 3 or 4 of each one. I should have all of the other cards not listed here available and I will trade 3 for 2. Thanks!

    Need both green and black back 23, 60, 65, 90, 92, 127, 155, 180, 263

    You stop right now, Doran!

I went on a Target/Wal-Mart hunt this morning and was depressed. One Target had retail and the vultures had got to them. Wal-mart had nothing and two other Targets had nothing. The Target closest to work had three loose boxes and I picked up 10 packs. Two of them little cards and one horribly off-center chrome.

    Blah!

Well, the post office has screwed me again, I bought that dual flashback relic and paid $104+$8.50 certified insured shipping. The seller just sent it first class with delivery confirmation, which shows it was delivered last friday, all I know is that it wasn't delivered to my house. So I guess I'm just out $112.50, will ebay refund my money since I paid extra for the certified shipping and he didn't send it that way or am I just screwed because the delivery confirmation shows it was delivered?

You gotta be kidding...That sucks man. Hope it does show up at some point. Which dual relic? Sounds like a great price for one of those. I saw the Gibson, Edmonds CC one ended recently at 127.50.

All those Smoltz prices have made me seriously consider selling mine, but I keep talking myself out of it. I just know I'll want to have it in the set at some point later on.

I don't think that's high at all compared to the cost of trying to build the set on your own. I'm over $250 in already (three hobby boxes, one big Ebay purchase and some trades here), and I still need 30 SP's and a bunch of the green back sps.
  • Options
I'm keeping them in my master set, at least that's what I'm saying now, when the smoltz starts hitting the $200 mark I may rethink that.

Brian I agree with that, after $900 in boxes a few ebay purchases and some trading here I finally finished my master.

I paid $800 for a 655 card master set and the 100 card chrome set (plus $40 for the Santana Mets' card).

Here are the panels from my boxes Monday. I got one buyback. It would go well with the Randy Jackson auto. I am looking to trade my panels and buybacks for panels and buybacks of Pirates.

I am reposting my Minoso CC hoping that someone would like to trade a Mazeroski CC for it.

Brian, no regrets my mistake was buying boxes instead of a case, sure I could have bought a set for far cheaper but there is no fun in that. I may end up ordering a case before it's all over anyway, my user name says it all. image

My five boxes only yielded one buyback.

I haven't opened it, or any of the five panels..........if anyone is interested in trading.

Hey guys...got some stuff going on so I haven't purchased any Heritage yet. I'm trying to hold off for a bit as you guys know..once you buy the 1st pack/blaster/box...its all over and you end up busting tons of the product.

I've got a PM out to Pharber an excel spreadsheet.

    John,
Once you get into it let us know. We could supply you with enough base cards, blackbacks and gum to fill an 18 wheeler I'm sure. Good luck wrapping up your projects.

After another flurry of trades I'm down to just a couple of handfuls for this year - this has already been a fantastic trading season for me, a few very familiar faces, and some great new trading partners. There's no doubt that I enjoy the trading aspect of this as much as anything else. I still am looking for the following:

    SPs: 466, 467, 496, 499
    TN: 7
    Chromes: 14, 30, 38, 40, 59, 71, 72, 85, 93, 95, 100
    Refractors: 72 (Jeter)
    Black Backs: 34, 150, 195, 211, 284

I have the following to trade:

    SPS: 409, 431 (2), 434, 438 (2), 442, 443 (2), 450, 453, 454, 457, 458, 469, 471, 473, 477, 479, 481, 484, 486, 488, 490, 491
    Chromes: 37, 50, 54, 79, 90
    Refractors: 3, 10, 13, 18, 20, 27, 37, 41, 43, 48, 50, 62, 67, 81, 91
Relics: Mussina, Green, Helton, Young, Zimmerman, Hunter, Sexson, Oswalt, Howard
    NAP: 8, 11, 14
    NF: 4, 5, 6
    TN: 2(2), 6
    BF: 1, 3, 8, 10

Please send me a PM with ideas and offers, thanks.

Oops, sorry about that. I was the one that bid $408! Got a second chance for $408, says it also has both Smoltz's and Santana's so I bought it as well. I opened four cases and did not get one Jon Smoltz. I did get one Santana Mets card.
