Yeah, Zep has the 'magic hand' when it comes to opening great stuff. The rest of his case will probably yield a Mantle, an Aaron, and 3 Gibsons.

I have no prodcut yet.

Due to 'work' I'm not really in the mood to get into 08 yet. My basketball team is playing in a Missouri class 2 (smaller class) district final tonight so I'm pumped about that. Maybe I'll get cards tonight or tomorrow to go along with a win and have a great weekend!!!

To pass the time I bought a couple of hobby boxes of 06 from Jack Lockwood (his last available.) Manny bat, Kaline flashback bat and thats it. I did get 1 refractor I needed towards my set!

Glad you guys are saving the cut autos for me!

Nice cards Nick! Definitely agree that the flashback relics are the nicest they've been since 04. The last three years have look pretty weak.

I'm going to propose a little side contest as we all open and sort. I have an Eddie Matthew's stadium seat card to offer to the person that has the best buyback card as determined by the group. I would stipulate that by "best", it's not the content of the card (a Mantle, I'm assuming, would be the nuts card) rather the condition; one that if it didn't have that stupid logo stamped on it would grade the highest. If it's something you all are interested in, I could start a separate thread (***The Official 2008 Heritage Buyback Contest***) for people to submit their photos and we could all judge as we go. What do you addicts think?

Cracked two hobby boxes last night. Nothing really exciting a couple jersey cards and sevearl CR and CRR. I really like this set though it has a really clean look. I really like the box toppers, its a cool idea. I know this is more than likely in the huge thread but what is up with the black number cards? One per pack?

On both 1 of 1s the names appear crooked....??? Is this so the auto lines up horizontally? Cool cards to pull but not things of beauty.

That is ugly , one of the biggest pulls you'd think they do better with it.

Can anyone advise if the variations of Wright, Santana and Smoltz are black backs ?

The Wright variation is a Dick Perez painting used for the photo. It was on the Beckett board in the 5 case bust, and if I'm not mistaken it was numbered 'DP6' or something.

Received case from LR today, thanks for info on Phelan Nick......I'll email again to try & get a time frame for refunds though I have made my Paypal claim. The 1st box was kind of cool after going a year without any new Heritage.

Does anyone have any official info on the #198 Owens? I only got 2 of them in 18 boxes, so that is not a base card to me.

Nick, I got 2 of them in only 4 boxes ( along with 1 or 2 of almost every base card). Got two of the #310 version too. And none of those was in the '#7' spot. I think you might be dealing with poor collation.

I also had a couple SP's appear not in that #7 spot.

Yes, The Black back Owens #198 is same as the green back one having the lite blue front

Regarding Owens: The #198 card (blue) comes with both color backs-- green and black. Card #310 (red). I do not know if card #310 comes with a black back or not. Also the biographical paragraph on the back of the blue version is completelydifferent from the red version. Craig in Ohio

Oh man, I love coming home from work to find scans and scans of heritage up! Oh year!

First, I like the contest of the best buy back...maybe there could be a contest of the WORST buy back..I think that half a buy
back might be hard to beat!

I busted 3 and a half boxes today, I did very good I think.

sorry to jump in here, I have just too many endeavors going to start buying wax of this years hritage I am still working on the 01 set and the 04 set. I have commons to trade from 04 and up along with A&G's from last year, and one randy Couture black border mini form the previous year. Is there site where I can check my sp's? I wil lcome here frist and then everything going to ebay! TIA

Mike, I'm torn on the relics.....collected most of them last year , will probably end up only doing Sox, the oldtimers, and particular players this year.....Howard will be one as I like that a lot too.
