If your not looking for a set I would say nay! The Baffert goes for an average of $35, below 30 on a bad day and not quite $50 on a good day.

Has anyone gotten anything besides a grey back mini out of the rip cards ? I have gotten 4 rip cards and all 4 have been grey back mini's. At the rate of 1 per case you would have thought they could have put something better in them.

I got new Tuff Stuff in the mail today and it does have print runs for mini's and what not. Its nice to see it in print not just on line.

George Washington Hair

All my relics & auto fronts have the "colored leafs" on the frame of the card in the upper left and lower right, and then reversed on the back.

This George Washington hair relic has the colored leafs in the upper right and lower left on the front and the same way again on the back. Same position front and back? Unless thats only on the 1/1 relics, it's seems strange.

I second the fishy motion. If you look on Topps sell sheet...Upper Left and Lower Right the flashing example of the Washington card has the leaves where you mention they should be. Of course, this could also be an example of where they "screwed up" like they did with the autos having the GU covers.

Well guys, thanks for all the trades. After all is said and done, I have a regular set, and a master mini set (350 minis + 50 flags + 10 emperors + 5 snakes). I was going to tackle the relics, but I just don't have it in me. Anyway, wanted to give you all first crack at the left overs from my set building and trading. This will be up on eBay Sunday if no one here wants it. It's already boxed and ready to ship out so I won't be breaking it up.

It's exactly this kind of thing that makes trading the most enjoyable part of collecting (Heritage and A&G specifically, but collecting in general) for me. I think Kurt and I have done about 5 trades in the last few sets, and each and every one of them has been great. I have no doubt that over the long haul the various throw ins and extras will even out, but this kind of gesture is what it's all about for me. I've really enjoyed all the trading this time around, and I don't have a single bad thing to say about anyone I've done a trade with - great communication, great packaging, easy to deal with, prompt, etc. - just great. Just a lot of fun, thanks.

Just a vent... for some reason, anything people sent to me through the US Mail on Aug 29th and 30th has entered some ethereal no man's land... Three eBay purchases and a trade from kmnorton just floating out there in the ether.

The US Mail is like a hot girlfriend that spends half the time teasing and half the time putting out. Do they not realize I NEED THOSE FLAGS?! I've been staring at scans and fantasizing about sliding those flags into those soft tender pages for more than a week now! I NEED THOSE FLAGS!

My God men, I bought a blaster of UD Goudey because I had the thirst. I was starting to ache, you know? It didn't help. Interesting look, got a Smoltz relic, but that blaster just didn't provide the same pleasure some A&G does. I'll take experience over looks anytime!

Thought I'd relay a really positive experience I just had with Topps Customer Service.

I wrote them a letter on Aug27 complaining that out of 27 packs I purchased (blasters and loose) 13 had missing mini's (or any other "hit") and some of the cards (2 flags and about 20 base cards) had damage. Today I received their response: a one-for-one replacement on all the damaged cards even though i indicated i didn't mind a random replacement. In addition I also received 6 relics (loduca jersey, giambi, piazza, glauss, manny, derrek lee bats) and 13 minis (6 non-sp blacks and 7 regular sp minis).

Thats a darn-good haul!

Oh, by the way all of the above pulls are available for trades.

I'm not collecting this set but today noticed a number of the blaster boxes at a local store which surprised me.....should I have picked them up or did leaving them make sense???? Are they selling for the 19.99 price or at a premium???

Agreed bought some retail boxes 24 packs 8 cards per. Pulled one crummy Jayson Bay relic. It is nice to see some retired players in the set. Over all very boring compared to A&G.

I had a good day at the local shop today. After the terrible taste open packs have left in my mouth and not being able to find blasters, I went to the hobby shop and decided to buy a hobby box.

A couple of flags, an emperor, a GU and this...

I think I mentioned that I was trying to pry something off a customer that opened a rip card. This was the shop where it was.

Recognize this...?

How about the original (clarification, purchased, not pulled)?

Very excited all around. A box to open, an auto and an original sketch card (the sketch card is a mini painting, really). Also bought a Bowman Chrome and didn't do too bad all around. Well worth the $350 day.

That original Perez "sketch" is both awesome and ugly. Awesomely ugly? I definitely like the look of it without the brown border Topps wraps around to make a regular sized card.

Did you have to sent receipts with the damaged cards as Topps says when you call them? I don't normally keep receipts when I buy cards and was wondering.
