Do the extended series mini's (351-390) have the same fronts as earlier cards (1-350) but gray backs or are they completely different pics/players with gray backs? Also, was there an extended series last year as well?

Hello everyone! I bought 12 loose packs at various Target stores yesterday and found (3)!!! blaster boxes today at Kmart, of all places. Anyway, not much to report. I do have the following for trade if anyone's interested:
Black Mini's No#-Brian Bannister, Jason Kendall, and John 'Mule' Miles Black Mini numbered-Pedro Martinez (#333)
Needless to say, these blasters weren't loaded, but this is what I have. I've only busted 36 packs so far, so I'm pretty much looking for everything.
Does anyone have the black bordered mini of card 318 (Jonny Gomes) WITH a number? Beckett lists it, but I haven't seen it.

Some folks are doing the A-Rods. Since that subset spans multiple products, it's not very popular. I've traded a few away though.
I don't think ANYONE likes the Dick Perez this year. They're in every hobby pack and every other retail pack, unlike last year where you'd get dummy cards often... and the sketches look kinda... weak.... yeah, weak... he did better last year.
I'm pretty sure I have 3 full complete sets, and enough singles to get a 4th almost done.

I did also just because I busted enough packs to make a set, but man, those are some ugly cards (some of them remind me of the island of Dr. Moreau experiments) and they're not really in the spirit of A&G in my opinion.

I cant believe that no one wants to take me up on my offer of 2 to 1 (and 6+ to 1 if you need regualr minis) to pull the cards that I need from their unfinished mini A&G back sets? Well the offer still stands, and here is my very short list again:

Think I've got the black no numbers figured out. No black card is numbered and unnumbered, for example Jeter will always be #150 and there are no unnumbered black Jeters. Conversely all Hunter Pence black cards have no number and there are no numbered ones. By my count there are 151 no number black cards, which is an odd number so I am guessing that there are actually 150 different no number blacks - do not have all cards in hand to verify whether they are numbered or not and you would be amazed how many cards I've gotten (none from anybody here) that I was told were no number that were numbered when I got them. By my count there are 50 base SP's and they all are no number blacks. No idea how the other 100 or 101 no numbers were chosen. If anyone has a black card of a player that is numbered and unnumbered, I would like to know about it. Went out of town for a few days which gave me a few days, while making up excuses not to go to the beach, to search for A&G's which I found none the couple times I was able to sneak off, watch some college football (App State for #5, sure looked better than #9 VA Tech), try to figure out how many A&G there are (maybe another time) and the story of black no numbers. Anyway, if anyone has some black no numbers they want to rid themselves of, let me know.
My updated list, thanks to all who have helped out. I only need one more base card and the flags. I Still have plenty of blacks and reg mini's and A&G mini's to trade with for the flags I need.

Yes, I know I can check this on ebay, and I will if no one else already knows, but does anyone know how much this set is worth? Base set, Base + SP's, mini set? Thanks if anyone has this info. If not I'll try to get it for all of us.
Base sets with SPs and the 30 Dick Perez cards are selling between $45 and $65 from what I've seen. Flag sets at $100+ and Emperor sets at $25 to $35. I don't know if a complete A&G, regular, or black border mini set has sold.

I know. I just checked on eBay and they're going for no more than $65 for the 350 + 30 set. Looks like regular mini 350 card sets are selling between $180 and $300.
Sell values, overall, were definitely better last year... but the 2007 set has the benefit of snakes, flags, emperors, and some interesting relics.
I'm glad I'm into A&G for the look (it's the only modern set I bother with), or I'd be racking my brain with what I've pulled vs. pack prices and going auction rates.
Who knows, maybe Beckett will rate it set of the year again... I remember a spike in pack and set prices for the 2006 set when they did that. I had only found out about A&G roughly 6 weeks prior. Pack prices in the two local shops went from $6 to $11. Oof.

I tried one hobby box and did not get anything notable to earn my money back. I just do not have any luck with modern......or vintage for that matter. The autographed cards from this set do look beautiful though...
Yeah, I didn't really do my research on this set before I bought boxes.
I was under the impression that ANY relic was like a $30+ card. Oops.
I'm starting to find that it's pretty tough to get your $'s worth with these boxes.
It's $110+ for a hobby box, and you basically get regular cards, some minis, and two $6 relic cards on average. Even if you pull ink, most of them sell for $30 or so.
I thought my Baffert autograph was easily a $100 card....guess I was wrong again. hahaha.
I opened 2 hobby boxes at $95 each, pulled a rip card, a print plate and a Bazooka back. Talk about crushing the odds! The Wang Bazooka sold for $100, the Pujols card from the Krod rip sold for $75. The Ausmus print plate is on ebay now 1/1. I had my fun, played the lottery, made a little $$ in the end and now I just have to walk away from the table. Until I get sucked in again!
I came out ahead with last year's set, even though I got started late. Pulled a couple printing plates, a couple bazookas, and multiple no numbers.
This year, I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind in terms of pulls/cash value. But I'll have the set done in 8 months less time, hehe.
A&G is definitely a set-builder's set. Oh, sure, some people get lucky with the big pulls like Bruce Lee relics and Chen Ming Wang autos, but most boxes yield $6 relics, a couple flags, and an emperor or two. If you don't get a big pull, you gotta love the look of A&G to feel like you got your money's worth. Good thing I adore the look of it.
I've come to learn that today's modern pulls are best found in $80-$120 "packs" of Topps Triple Threads and Upper Deck Sweet Spot (Classic). Too bad I can't afford to buy too much of that stuff... and I wouldn't get much satisfaction anyway, unless I pulled a Nolan Ryan or something.
I know this is going to sound insane... but I wish Topps would produce three times as much A&G so that pack prices would stay low and more people could complete sets. This is the kind of set that can pull people back into the hobby, but it won't do much of that if it's scarce in retail stores and pack prices are over $3 (or $6, or $8 like at the local shop here). Of course, I also still think EVERY pack of cards should cost a buck or less and come with gum *grin*

I guess I wasn't being clear. For me, it's not just an issue of money.
1) I'm not about to give up A&G for Sweet Spot or Triple Threads, and thus, don't have any cashola left over to dabble in them.
2) It's also an issue of quantity. 5 cards for $65-120 doesn't feel like a good value to me. My luck for pulls is crap as it is. Given the money, I can buy boxes of A&G with loads of base and minis, and trade to complete the full set, or I can get some packs of Sweet Spot and hope that I get something nice in that 25 to 30 cards to satisfy my jones. However, unless I pull some snazzy flashy Nolan Ryan with dual swatches, an auto, and a pube, the odds I'll pull something from that product I like are slim. It'd just be like fishing for something to put on eBay.
But mostly, anything more than $2 a pack for cards is robbery. $65 is insane. I don't care how rich I ever get, I'll never be able to "afford" that, at least not without hating myself.

Wow, you are one lucky guy. I opened about 2 times as much as you did. The best I got I think is a mini No # Barry bonds, 1 Basic Auto, 3 bat cards. The Bonds no # is up for trade, I need flag cards. Anyone? LMK> Dave.

I know. I just checked on eBay and they're going for no more than $65 for the 350 + 30 set. Looks like regular mini 350 card sets are selling between $180 and $300.

I'm glad I'm into A&G for the look (it's the only modern set I bother with), or I'd be racking my brain with what I've pulled vs. pack prices and going auction rates.
Who knows, maybe Beckett will rate it set of the year again... I remember a spike in pack and set prices for the 2006 set when they did that. I had only found out about A&G roughly 6 weeks prior. Pack prices in the two local shops went from $6 to $11. Oof.

I was under the impression that ANY relic was like a $30+ card. Oops.
I'm starting to find that it's pretty tough to get your $'s worth with these boxes.
It's $110+ for a hobby box, and you basically get regular cards, some minis, and two $6 relic cards on average. Even if you pull ink, most of them sell for $30 or so.
I thought my Baffert autograph was easily a $100 card....guess I was wrong again. hahaha.

I had my fun, played the lottery, made a little $$ in the end and now I just have to walk away from the table. Until I get sucked in again!
This year, I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind in terms of pulls/cash value. But I'll have the set done in 8 months less time, hehe.
A&G is definitely a set-builder's set. Oh, sure, some people get lucky with the big pulls like Bruce Lee relics and Chen Ming Wang autos, but most boxes yield $6 relics, a couple flags, and an emperor or two. If you don't get a big pull, you gotta love the look of A&G to feel like you got your money's worth. Good thing I adore the look of it.
I've come to learn that today's modern pulls are best found in $80-$120 "packs" of Topps Triple Threads and Upper Deck Sweet Spot (Classic). Too bad I can't afford to buy too much of that stuff... and I wouldn't get much satisfaction anyway, unless I pulled a Nolan Ryan or something.
I know this is going to sound insane... but I wish Topps would produce three times as much A&G so that pack prices would stay low and more people could complete sets. This is the kind of set that can pull people back into the hobby, but it won't do much of that if it's scarce in retail stores and pack prices are over $3 (or $6, or $8 like at the local shop here). Of course, I also still think EVERY pack of cards should cost a buck or less and come with gum *grin*

If you can't afford triple threads or Sweet spot Classic, how do you buy all of these boxes of Ginter? Regular Sweet spot goes for $65ish and Classic is the same as Ginter.

I guess I wasn't being clear. For me, it's not just an issue of money.
1) I'm not about to give up A&G for Sweet Spot or Triple Threads, and thus, don't have any cashola left over to dabble in them.
2) It's also an issue of quantity. 5 cards for $65-120 doesn't feel like a good value to me. My luck for pulls is crap as it is. Given the money, I can buy boxes of A&G with loads of base and minis, and trade to complete the full set, or I can get some packs of Sweet Spot and hope that I get something nice in that 25 to 30 cards to satisfy my jones. However, unless I pull some snazzy flashy Nolan Ryan with dual swatches, an auto, and a pube, the odds I'll pull something from that product I like are slim. It'd just be like fishing for something to put on eBay.
But mostly, anything more than $2 a pack for cards is robbery. $65 is insane. I don't care how rich I ever get, I'll never be able to "afford" that, at least not without hating myself.

Wow, you are one lucky guy. I opened about 2 times as much as you did. The best I got I think is a mini No # Barry bonds, 1 Basic Auto, 3 bat cards. The Bonds no # is up for trade, I need flag cards. Anyone? LMK> Dave.
