Now I'm even more convinced that Target's blasters are loaded.
I went to Holland, MI today, and stopped into the Target there... the city doesn't have many collectors, so they had a full stock of blasters.
I picked one.
In eight packs I got two flags (Bulgaria, Turkey), an emperor (Julius Caesar), and a relic (Mia Hamm).
Better than the dozen or more blasters I've bought from Walmart and Meijer.
Target's blasters are visually different too. The ones from Meijer and Walmart say "Bonus Box" in the little orange box on the front. The ones from Target say "$19.99" in that box.
I need set straight. I have just finished ripping through a hobby case and I don't feel satisfied. I'll tell you some of what I got and you guys tell me if I'm crying in my coffee for no reason. 3 Autos, howie kendrick, adrian gonzalez and bill hall. 20 relics or so but none that make you say wow. 3 black mini sp no#. 2 white mini no# of chris burke and xavier nady. probably 20 flags, 10 emperors. 1 snake. Jered weaver rip card that held jd drew ext mini inside. The only thing I went wow to was a bazooka back prince fielder. Does anyone think this was a good case? If so, I'll sell it all to you for the same price I paid for it.

I hate to tell you, but that rip was really bad. I have not seen many like that, but those three autos are not good. You didn't get any of the short printed relics?
It's too bad Target doesn't sell Hobby boxes... I bet a typical box there would yield Wang autograph, Bruce Lee relic, and a Bonds rip card with a red ink auto of Pujols inside.... along with two snakes.
Also, does anyone know a good source for Card Savers? (just kidding!)
I noted this earlier (way many many posts ago) but you will also find that if a particular card is more yellow-tinted, all copies of that card seem to be yellow-tinted. Likewise, if a card is white, all its copies are white as well.
I have looked for this (after opening 2 cases, 4 hobby boxes, 1 blaster) and found no variation within a single card. If anyone has found variations, I would love to hear about it.
I suspect the raw material manilla sheets that Topps used for printing had variation of color across the sheet. Also that all raw material sheets had identical color variation across the sheet. It is likely that cards printed nearer the edge exhibit the yellow-tinting and cards in the middle exhibit the white. (Of course it could be exact opposite). Since a particular player is always located at the same location within the sheet, you will find all their cards to be tinted identically.
Now, if we could get Topps to verify this, it would be wonderful.
I've noticed light and dark ink on the backs, particularly short-prints....
... but the yellow/white backing always seems to be the same for each card. In fact, the yellow patterns for each card are so similar, I think they might have used weak yellow ink to simulate the aged effect! I've seen a few offcenter cuts where the back has a white edge as if a card with a "non-aged" back was printed right next to an "aged" card.
Glad someone says my case sucked because to be EVEN MORE HONEST I was pissed the whole time opening it. Had the feeling from the start that it just wouldn't be good. No short printed relics. I did get three completes sets out of it and maybe one more, still have cards to put together. I would have liked JUST ONE DECENT auto. LOL Oh well.

yeah, but thats the great thing about this forum. There are so many cards around and so many great traders that the card you might be looking for might be out there. I can tell you that a case worth of minis has some good trade value here. I would suggest posting what you are looking for and what you have. You might be able to nail a decent card. We are all here to help each other out!

Topps came through today by sending me the 12 minis that were missing from a hobby box of A & G (Although I sent in 17 wrappers, UPC and reciepts, they only returned 12) But they sent good ones: 3 reg back minis all SP 307, 308, 309 5 black mini - no SPs 4 AG back including a Jack The Ripper
only took them about 2 weeks to send them back - sweet
I just picked up the new release price from beckett is anyone needs a few prices. They screwed up and listed the back no number cards as different and more valuable! Hopefully they will fix that before the mag comes out. The bazooka's didn't book, but everything else did. According to them these are the values of the basic minis:

This is a stupid question, but I haven't looked at a price guide in years, is Frank Thomas a minor star, semistar, or unlisted star? I'm thinking about purchasing the extended Thomas, just curious what it's booking at.

Short Prints from the base set book for 3 bucks. I believe Thomas is an unlisted SS. There were only three cards in the base set that booked for more than 3, Bonds, Maddux, and Mantle. Mantle gets a better mulitplier because it isn't an sp.
Also the SP minis get a different multiplier. Only 1.5 times the base card.
Both volleyball babes came in at 100 bucks. The negro league players booked more than that...are they selling for that?
I still have more product on the way, but I think it's time to jump into some trading.

Being that I've only opened 36 packs of A&G, I don't have enough product to have a effective trade list. Next week, when I get my 5 blasters and 1 retail box, I hope that changes. I'm debating a Hobby box, but everyone seems to have horror stories more than success stories, and I've done well with my few blasters. If my luck changes after this next rip, I'll definitely try a hobby box, and heck, I want to see one of those box toppers, so I may do it anyway.

Hi folks. Thanks to this great community, I have put major dents in my black set....down to under 80 needed! Thought I'd repost my lists directly here since there are quite a few new folks.
I'm in the process of moving to Houston, TX. I couldn't have chosen a worse time to get into this set again, as I'm having to put everything in storage, fly out of Atlanta, and live in company housing. Plus I've got a 5 week school to attend in Nashville, a 2 week school in NYC, and a 1 week school in LA to attend between now and December 2nd. The only positive is that I'm not going to have to pay for a mortgage, utilities, and general living expenses between now and January, in that I'll be in team housing and and hotels for the next 3 months. More money for cards, with no place to store them...I'll have a suitcase full...

Bunch...I remember a time I was out on business and picked up a few boxes, I came back and checked in at the front desk at the airline and they wouldn't let me on the plane cause my suitcase was 10 pounds over the limit! I had to schlep three 800 count boxes of topps heritage around!!!
Make sure you save some money for the over limit fee! LOL

This is a stupid question, but I haven't looked at a price guide in years, is Frank Thomas a minor star, semistar, or unlisted star? I'm thinking about purchasing the extended Thomas, just curious what it's booking at.
Also, are SP auto's booking yet? Misty May-Treanor is who I'm curious about.

Also the SP minis get a different multiplier. Only 1.5 times the base card.
Both volleyball babes came in at 100 bucks. The negro league players booked more than that...are they selling for that?

Thanks for the info .
Soon as I get some time under my belt , i'll put together a list too .
Being that I've only opened 36 packs of A&G, I don't have enough product to have a effective trade list. Next week, when I get my 5 blasters and 1 retail box, I hope that changes. I'm debating a Hobby box, but everyone seems to have horror stories more than success stories, and I've done well with my few blasters. If my luck changes after this next rip, I'll definitely try a hobby box, and heck, I want to see one of those box toppers, so I may do it anyway.
The point of my ramblings is, I'll post a list as soon as I've opened a few more packs.

Bunch...I remember a time I was out on business and picked up a few boxes, I came back and checked in at the front desk
at the airline and they wouldn't let me on the plane cause my suitcase was 10 pounds over the limit! I had to schlep three
800 count boxes of topps heritage around!!!
Make sure you save some money for the over limit fee!
