Looks like FatMan killed this thread with whatever that item is he last posted. Must be some kind of a modern commemorative? Beats me.

    Can anyone revive this thread?

I would love to show some Classic Commemorative, but... Correct me if I am mistaken, but I think we need another Kennedy or another 1964.

Corrected to type the correct president.image

    Found this on page 1:

    (Rules edited for clarification.)
This game works sort of like the "Crazy Eights" or "Uno" card games do, on a very basic level.

If the last coin posted was a U.S. coin, you have to post a coin of the same date OR the same type (NOT just the same denomination).

If the last coin posted was a foreign coin, you have to post a coin of the same date OR from the same country (type or denomination do not matter in this case.)

Please, no undated tokens, or ancient and medieval pieces without dates.

If you do post a Darkside coin, make sure to post what country it's from so you don't stump the poor Litesiders.

Dual-dated coins like Bicentennial issues or some commemorative issues are "wild card coins". For example, if I post a "1776-1976" Bicentennial quarter, the next person must post a Washington quarter OR a 1976-dated coin OR a 1776 dated coin, since 1776 is also one of the dates on the coin, though not the date it was issued.

Sure, if it was a Kennedy! Somebody post a 1964 washington, that will get you out of it.

By the way, I will pause the game for a sec to show you a comparison.

Here is the 1842 half dime that began this UNO thread, as it looked in my weirdly lit photo way back then.

    image

Here it is, just back from PCGS, as Phil Arnold did it via PCGS TrueView service.

    image

Cool, huh? Kudos to Phil, and to PCGS for offering this service for five bucks a coin. I think it was five bucks well spent.

Now, unpause. Back to the game.

It's 1812, or Bust half dollar.

Just so happens I have another 1812 from that recent submission, which I let Braddick steal from me. (Yes, Pat, she's in hand now and will be headed your way in the next few days.)

    image

1812 or Classic Head large cent, to the next player!

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

Mozin, did you party like it was 1999? 'Cause you just posted the 1,999th post. (Cool clashes, BTW!)

    I have to get 2,000.
