Two cards in today's mail box. Was starting to get worried about the 1990 as the seller had low feedback, and it has been a few weeks since payment, but it only went for $8.00.

Nice jackstraw. Is it 5 x 3 1/2" in size? (two cards).

    Nice cards Mark.

And what's with Pacific? How come a small company like that can manage to figure out how to cut cards so nice and find some decent action shots?

Sometimes I think Topps could learn a thing or two from some of the small companies?

    Thanx for sharing

I have never seen a card from the Pacific Football sets of that era that wasn't really wonderful.

And those are fabulous '59s image

I agree. Pacific had some of the coolest auction shots. The 1991 Pacific also has photographs on the back, many time showing even a common player in home and away uniforms, which gives an ideal of how many photographs they must have taken for this set.

To give Topps a little credit, the 1992 sets (all sports) had some really awesome photography. I guess it took Topps a few years to catch on that they were not just playing with Donruss and Fleer in the sandbox anymore.

Here is another card I got today. (Cant tell I started a photo bucket site this week can you?) One of those tough to find cards due to an almost all black surface.

Sweet! The Aaron is super - with 7s like that? Who needs better! Great centering also.

Great cards - the 59s are a favorite of mine - I just like the colors also.

In fact - the Corsair Trio is one of my all-time favorites from the set.

    Thanx for sharing.

Thanks Mike - I pass over a lot of 59's on eBay because the centering is off. With those colored backgrounds they really suffer even at 60/40.

I really like latter day cards of classic era players. Access to superior printing materials and better photographs show these guys in ways that sometimes they weren't shown on their contemporary cards.

How hard and fast is PSA's rule about only having cards from the player's actual playing era in Master Sets? I have post-career cards, PSA graded and raw alike, of more than a few guys whose sets I might like to suppliment with them.

Got my submission back, as well as a few goodies in the mail. First, I'll show off my new registry set additions, so get ready for some SF Giants stars!:

    Willie Mays
Raw submission. Bought from Mickey's Sports Cards as ex/nm.
    image

    Juan Marichal
Another raw submission. Since 8s seldom show up on Ebay, I got tired of waiting and submitted one myself. image
    image

    Orlando Cepeda
I picked up the 58 rookie card already graded, the 72 was a self submission:
    imageimage

    Gaylord Perry
Both raw submissions. I thought the 71 had a shot at an 8. Guess not.
    imageimage

    Will Clark
Submitted the 86 Donruss Highlights myself, got the other off Ebay.

    Matt Williams
    All self-subs:

What can I say but tremendous!

The Cepeda is a beauty! And the Mays that you got raw as exmt is sweet! Looks like an 8 in the scan but I'm sure there's a 'touch' somewhere?

    Great pickups! Thanx for sharing.

When I first saw the "10" in the grade, I figured it was out of 100. Wow. I Gem Mint 10 on a pin that's nearly 100 years old. That doesn't suck!

    Hello Yankeefan,

"Just the link, still doing something wrong."

Rather then clicking on the one of the "http (chain)" buttons, click on the little picture frame. It will then bring up a box "Script Prompt" "URL for the image." This is where you enter the web address of where the photo is.

It will them place in your posting the address with "[IM G]" (no space in the later) at the beginning and "[/IM G]" (again no space in the later) at the end. You can also just type or copy and paste these book end like font scripts.

Hope that helps, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

A couple things in today's mailbox....

    image

Won the Dillon for $4.00 with shipping on eBay. I use to draft him from my fantasy football team and he would never score points for me when I ran him.

    image

    Another Young game used.

    image

One of those low numbered parallel cards (#15 of 50) that look like normal base cards.

I have no idea how many ungraded - I would say plenty but NOT a 10! Great pick up!

I have only one somewhere but I promise it would see a 10 out of 100!

    Nice 1976 Topps cards "rd",

Had a pretty large mail day today, which is somewhat strange for a Tuesday since none were foreign or priority. Rather then flood you with images of them all I have selected a few I think are cool....image

I think these 1993 Collectors Edge team cards are neat. I don't remember them but I guess I never purchased much 1993 CE, if any?

    image

The Colts team card has several suits in the middle, I imagine the owner, president and the like. So perhaps one of them will make the HOF and not make this a stray in a collection, or course there is always Jim Harbaugh...;^)

    image

Dolphins team card with Marino, Shula and one of my old favorites Mark Duper.

    image

    Closeup of the tiny Marino.

    image

Steelers team card. I imagine Anderson will make the HOF in this group. Note how the coaches are just sort of thrown in like it was a last minute decision.

Anyone know a site I can look up and find the names of all the assistant coaches?

    image

Picked up the Dickerson for under $3.00, plus combined shipping. With all the black on the front and back I image 10's are not easy to get. Which amazed me no one else wanted it, as I have not been able to touch any of the 1980's Dickerson PSA 10's, which uusally go for twice what other HOF'ers in the same set go for.

    Clear Skies,
