Here's a few more 1970's hockey, a set released as stamps at a grocery chain in Canada - Loblaw's, just got about 75 in this week. From the ones I have seen, they are a TAD condition sensitive. I should check the pop. report on this set. If anyone else knows where else to get some besides eBay, a friendly word is always appreciated. Always love to see the old greats and the awesome haircuts!
Thanks for the note on Greene and Woodson GDM67. I always forget about Woodson, I am sure he will make it.
Nice Rose and Cobbs, thanks for sharing. This is the coolest thread on the list.
A couble cool mail box items.
I have a bunch of original comic art, like Mad Magazine and Cracked Magazine (rather then super hero comics) and once ran a series of meteorite comics in one of the e-zines with a former Cracked and Mad magazine artist. (It was met with mixed reaction to make a LONG story short.....I guess pissing a few people off and a whole city is a success in sattire?). Anyway, here is a cool original and personalized card from Ron Ferdinand, the current (for many years now) Dennis the Menace artist.

One of my most neatest pieces came in today.......a bat used by Kurt Abbott in the 2000 World Series, also HELD by Derek Jeter, LITERALLY! Here's the story.......in Game 5, Kurt Abbott fouled off a pitch which shattered his bat and the barrel end flew all the way to Derek Jeter. Jeter picked it up and fans yelled at him to throw it back at him (like Clemens did to Piazza). I got it for only $75!! One of my biggest steals to date
<< <i>Superb stuff guys - too much to comment on. Wow!
I do have a question...
Kyle - did ya get the handle that broke of the Abbott bat?
Nice piece! mike >>
Nope, though I wish I did have it. It's hard to find a broken bat with both pieces available. It was most likely thrown away, while the barrel went straight to the MLB representative at the game who put the hologram on it.

Nice piece, for sure. The pictures really add a lot to the story, too.
Just imagine what it'd be worth if it went the other way...a busted Jeter bat to Kurt Abbot in the World Series.

Hi Mike..
I'm always happy to share and make someones day better.
I picked it up on Robert Edward Auctions. I hope to have it in hand next week. I can't wait to see it in person as it does look like a very nice die cut card.
It's a Felipe Lopez game worn 2006 Reds helmet which I photomatched to a picture of him with Griffey. The black marks on the ear flap perfectly match in the picture
My 8th PSA 10 Saberhagen (and 4th PSA 10 1988 Topps). He is one of the players few submit so starting to get a good stack and I went ahead and requested a registry set. Won another one today.
Picked up a couple dozen boxes of 1980-1990's baseball sets for about $5 a set, which was cool. I am sure I am not the only list that use to buy pack after pack, looking for the Wally Joyners and Bo Jacksons, along with the flavor of the week, but never completely sets.
Feel better on the Greensburg Tornado side as I have formed a little group of meteorite people and we are doing a large scale raffle. We raised over $12,000 for 911 and good sums for other crisis such as Katrina, so I am hopeful. A lot of good people lost their homes last friday.

I havnt posted any cards on this thread in ages, so rather than backtrack too far I'll just offer up these two additions of the past week. Both were upgrades to what I had and gave me the push to the # 1 spot on the registry for the Guidry master set.

Well dudes - this is gonna get about as much attention as a naked lady at a blind man's convention.
This is my 22nd sports related whiskey decanter! 1974 Ezra Brooks.
Only my 2nd basketball decanter. I paid 5 bucks and am a bit disappointed - I didn't catch the fact that they had removed the bottle label from the bottom - I would rather have it - even if torn and the ends are curled.
So, I'll be looking for another. But for now - this one is just fine. This is just a partial scan - this thing is about 13" in height.
