Oh gotcha, I just figured you were a little over excited and wanted a response.
Oh yeah, I love Lasorda, I sent him a card to sign ttm this spring and returned it in 6 days. Plus he's pretty dang hilarious if you've ever seen him on his golf cart in dodgertown.
<< <i>Yeah, sorry about that, I kept "hitting enter", and my post did not show up (all 4 showed-up 1/2 hour later, yikes!) >>
Don't worry, probably due to a page turn. Try adjusting your settings to see 100 posts per page.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
<< <i>A late xmas gift from my Father. He got three of these personally signed last fall and had them framed. He gave my Brother and I each one, and kept one for himself. SWEET!! This is inspiring me to build a Brooks Robinson PSA Set.

As an aside did you notice that Brooks is signing the ball left-handed? One of those neat "useless" facts is that Brooks was actually lefthanded and the only thing he did right-handed was play baseball.

Maybe a dumb question, but how does one tell that Maris is Venezuelan?

Got about 10 grocery triple-packs from BBCExchange ths last week and saw this one. Three Hall Of Famers on the front, even though none is a 10, it's still cool and I can't being myself to open it. I just like to look at it.
Ah. That would explain it. Thanks for the clarification.

<< <i>GDM, are you working on some kind of HOF set or just a player collector? I like that Riggins.
Arthur >>
The Sonny is an upgrade for my 72 set, the Riggo is an addition to it and the Theismann is for my All Time Redskins set. I'm considering starting player sets for Joe and Sonny, too.
<< <i>Yes, the (former) #1 guy just sold his collection, that's where I got my latest 60+ lot from. The #3 guy with all 10s is NOW selling most of HIS collection on ebay, so now it'll be competing against the guy who runs calripkenjr.net! Craziness... >>
Sounds like a lot of fun. Do you know the guy at calripkenjr.net? I've tried to touch base with him while researching but have never had any success getting with him.
Great pick up. But I dunno. Seems like you should blur his address. Maybe it's just me.

The check is from 22 years ago. His career salary from MLB alone exceeds $121 million.
I think it is safe to say that he is probably living somewhere different these days.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
I would doubt that Clemens lives at the same address as he did in 85. Still a nice check, I wish I could sign my name on a few of those! I wonder if that is for one game or week or what ?
2006 BOWMAN ORIGINALS ERVIN SANTANA AUTO 352/544 - GOT THIS OFF OF eBay DON'T REALLY TOO MUCH OF HIM BUT I THOUGH IT WAS A BEAUTY FOR ONLY $10 (AND THAT WAS WITH SHIPPING!).
2006 BOWMAN CHROME FOOTBALL MAT LEINART RC XFRACTOR 124/250 - GOT THIS CARD FOR $9.99 OFF OF EBAY. NICE #'D CARD.
GOT BOTH OF THESE OFF OF THE BAY, I AM A TRUE MET FAN. JOHN MAINE AND DAVID WRIGHT AUTOS, NOT #'ED BUT MUST BE SHORT RUN.

ANYONE KNOW ABOUT SANTANA? HIS STATS LOOK GOOD....
Gonblott, did all the Ervin Santana's have Johan Santana's fake sig on them or is that a variation? I don't collect modern but those Topps auto are nice.

After checking the salary I'm pretty sure it's a weekly check.

Matt, how do you like it? I found that card to present much better in person than via scan. That was the first Dempsey I bought and still one of my favorites.
Do me a favor? Wait until I make a few more pickups before you start your Dempsey player set?
This Kemp card and folder was given out at HUD meeting Honoring Jack Kemp. I had to lighten it alot to see the gold writting on the booklet that the card came in. Very limited production.

Just a few more. Funny, how some of the least expensive cards bring the most joy. Kinda like when we were kids?

Thanks. That's only the second one I've ever seen so the condition means nothing to me. I just hope PSA has a holder for it so I can add it to the registry.
I love that '64 Kemp and I agree with you about the lesser expensive cards. I know some of my favorite cards were picked up for less than a twenty.

I think it's the color of the back of the card, a regular 66 is a pink color and the venezuelan is more of an orange.
