    Hey guys,
Does anyone know if you can order a specific Roop binder for '05 Heritage if you just want to fill it with the Base Grays, Light Backs, SP's, NAP's, Then and Now's, and Flashbacks. Basically, everything but the Chromes, Refractors, and Relics.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Just how many cards is everyone collecting for this set? I have the following.

    475 numbered cards
    20 variations numbered 1-389
    220 white backs
    4 unnumbered checklists
    10 flashback
    15 NAPs
    10 then & now
754 Is a whole lot of cards with no chromes, refractors or GU at $2.99 per pack of eight.

Anyone still working on this set? Peetie helped me with my last SP at the beginning of July. Not a bad way to spend five months.
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason.
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

I can't believe I finally broke down and bought my first TH. You guys have built up quite the hullabaloo around the cards and I just had to buy some to see what they're like. I bought 3 2005 hobby packs ($6.00 each) at my local card shop (15 miles from home is the closest one now) and, on the way home, I stopped at a local chain store (Fred Meyers -- 67Standup knows what that is) and bought the rest of a 2005 retail box of 21 packs at $2.99 each. Are those average prices?

Now, to decide if I want to open them or save them for the future when you nuts are reminiscing and wishing you could open a pack again. I could pull the box out and offer them up at a tidy profit!! I've got room with my other unopened wax and cello stuff. Dang, the decisions a pack rat has to make...

Just buy retail...do not buy them at $6.00 each.

Unless you want to spend the next 4 months tracking down new age player inserts* to complete your set, I would return the
    packs back to the store!

Thanks for the tips. I was going to ask what the difference was between the retail and hobby packs, but I noticed the ever-so-slightly better odds of pulling the inserts out of the hobby packs, plus the extra "1956 Cuts Cut Signatures" insert available only to the hobby pack. I probably won't return them, but maybe just put them with the other unopened stuff and open the 21 retail packs...

    Thanks again!

That's right and not only that but 4 out of 5 dentists recommend the sugarless gum in the Heritage Packs!

With that kind of endorsement - next year - with the 57 design - will be the best ever!

I may have to look for 2 cases!

Mike just mentioned that next year's design will be the '57 look. I'm too lazy to read all of this thread or to check on eBay. Could you tell me what the past designs have been? From the impression I've gotten, TH has been around since 2001, correct? I know Bowman has its H-series, too, but that seems beyond the scope of this thread. I did buy 4 packs of that when I couldn't find the Topps brand and saw they were the '55Bs. Not bad!

    Thanks,

    Just work backwards:

    2005 - 1956
    2004 - 1955
    2003 - 1954
    2002 - 1953
    2001 - 1952

The Bowman Heritage is just not as popular - this year they did the 1955 design and last year they did the year that never was - a 1956 design that for obvious reasons never came to fruition.

For many reasons, I think the 1957 design will be a big hit - there was a thread on what we would like to see in these sets - design, inserts, etc.

Does anyone happen to know the print runs of the seat, bat and uniform relics from the various years? There was a 2004 Grandstand Glory Willie Mays that closed today that the seller stated was printed to 55. Were they all like that? Anyone have info for all years?

I am down to a single chrome from the 2005 set: #46.

I have been looking on ebay for 2 months, never seen it. Is this the rarest card? Or just never sold?

Any help out there? It's the last card I need (other than a few relic cards).

    Gremlin alert, gremlin alert!

I finally have gotten around to sorting the stacks of cards on my desk and have found that the 2005 Heritage Chrome set I thought I had finished is in fact missing 4 cards. I need help with #s 95 (Cabrera), 54 (Johnson), 51 (Sexson) and 14 (Guerrero).

I ran out of decoy cards to use as spacers in card boxes.

Heritage gum works just as well.....and keeps my cards smelling oh so fresh. image

I have a question for you guys. Something between 30-40 of the regular cards in my basic set have the light backs. Is this a no-no? Is the set less valuable than if all the cards were grey backs? This is the first Heritage set I've put together. Thanks to StarWarsFan2003 and JoeStalin for the trades to get me closer to completing my set. I still need seven more cards. Can anyone help me?

    #449 Ryan Webb

I just picked up about a box and a half of retail at Target...I'm a junkie. The wrappers are slightly different. There is no price printed on it. The SPs are fewer and farther between. The NAPs are much more common than earlier in the year.

The white backs are non-existant. I don't know how their value will shake out in the long run, but they are certainly not a detriment to any base set.

It sounds to me that you bought packs that were once in a 19.99 booster box, but are now searched. All retail packs meant to
be sold as singles had the 2.99 price tag on them.

SoFLFan...Thats a great idea...there is nothing like that heritage smell

beronbop....thats whats great about heritage. You can put together a set however you want. If later on you want to try to get the
master set (both dark and light backs), then you can.

Kevin, I don't think so. The packs I bought were in great shape - not at all like they had been groped by pack searchers or scavengers. They were in the regular cube-type retail boxes, which were in good shape. Target tosses the empty boxes pretty quickly, so I don't know that they would have the boxes to display returned packs. Also, I am nearly certain that ALL of the packs I've opened this year had the $2.99 on them, even the ones from booster boxes.

Someone please jump in and help before Kevin and I get into a nasty pinching and eye-scratching fight.

Just thought I'd keep this topic alive since it is one of my favorites. Can't wait for 2006 Topps Heritage with the 1957 Topps design!! image

By the way, does anyone have a 2003 topps heritage #94 jason perry SP? It is the only card I need to complete my Topps Heritage collection. Please let me know -- thanks!

When does the 2006 '57 design set come out? I haven't been into the Heritage series due to concentrating on the original cards, but I love the '57s so much that I'd like to look into putting a set of those together when they arrive.

What's the difference between the retail and hobby boxes....different inserts? For those of you that have collected the Heritage series for awhile, is it easier (although less fun, I know) to let others break open boxes and then pick up the cards loose and in lots later to put the sets together?
