Saturday home brewed Red Eye time, today in Houston while visiting family. Luckily, my daughter in law has the same machine I do.

Below are pics of a new CBH; I haven’t bought one of these since CSNS several months ago. Spoiler alert: it just might be recognizable to one of our members (who happens to be a weekly contributor to this thread)!

This is the “available” 1827 Square Base 2 variety, O-125.1. It is a rock solid AU58 graded by CACG. The coin exhibits a nice original skin with frost & a cartwheel luster when rotated under the light. It even shows a “sparkle”, attesting to its originality.

Just received grades back for a handful of raw trade dollars, most of them destined to be re-homed but I am keeping a couple for my variety set. As a side note, Trueview image quality is leaving something to be desired. In hand, both of these coins are pretty dark, just like honest circulated coins should be.

76-S 2/2 Large S - This is a very tough variety, there are probably a few dozen extant in all conditions. As a textbook XF40, this is likely in the upper quadrant of the (hypothetical) census.

77-P RPD - To be honest, I don't care for this variety that much. It's minor and not that interesting despite the difficulty in finding an example. But, in the interest of completion, once I saw a decent VF I decided to add it.

How this went.

A couple weeks ago after an audiologist appoint, I had lunch with a friend. When I took him home he showed me another part of his world class collection (I remember some of the 3c Silvers most). OMG!

Anyway, discussion turns to a couple coins he has for sale. CBH's, of course. You think he knows his audience?!

Oh man, I say. I have both of those DM's.

Caffeine Saturday with a beautifully nasty Red Eye this AM. I have a NEWP today that might seem unusual for me:

Why seemingly unusual? In the past, I once put together a Registry set (since retired under Nickelodeon). I always liked the series, but decided I would never be able to complete the set. I had 10 of the 11, but the one missing was the prohibitively expensive 1792. “Never say never”, but that coin was a “never”.
This coin is the Liberty Seated H10C, No Stars, a favorite of mine & highly desired by collectors. It was only minted for two years. It is the Large Date version, with the tall pointed “1”; die marriage V2.
Specifics aside, this piece is fully original exhibiting vibrant luster. It is virtually mark free, with only some minute die cracks on the obverse. The eye appeal is nothing short of astounding. The obverse shows a deep steel blue with traces of lilac. The reverse borders are an aqua blue essence mixed with olive that radiates to a rose amber center.
While I no longer collect these, I found this CAC approved beauty to be irresistible!

Among my favorite things to do with my collection is to organize, grade, re-holder, arrange, etc, etc. During fallow buying times, it helps keep me interested and gives me something to look forward to. There are some interesting coins coming up at auction and the ongoing semiquincentennial mint issues ,which I'll pursue, but nothing for my core collection that I must have.

So, I had a few raw trade dollars graded and am packing them up to send to the sticker factory. The TVs are subpar so imagination will be required but they are mostly nicely circulated, attractive coins.

Here are my guesses; I'll update this post when I have results in a week or two.

AU53 - Yes. Great coin.

AU50 - No. I grade this coin XF45. I'll happily take the higher grade but I don't think it stickers.

VF25 - Yes. Surprisingly, 73-S is the scarcest date to find with a sticker; there are even fewer than 78-CC.

VF25 - No. I don't think there is anything massively wrong with this coin, just a few little things. That being said, I wouldn't be shocked if it stickers.

XF45 - Yes. Terrible TV, this is a really nice coin.

XF40 - Yes. Really tough variety. The formerly PL surfaces (which is common for the variety) show everything. Another liner coin though. I think it should sticker but trying to forecast JA's determination is not always the easiest.

VF25 - No. I like this coin, it has mostly nice surfaces, but I don't think JA will like the spot in the obverse field. (Another terrible TV, this coin is brown, crusty, and dark.)

Eliasberg/Clapp 30-117 in MS63. Polished dies created a PL surface on about 60% of the fields.
