The Coins of 1854...
The recent 1826 thread got me looking through my collection, and I was surprised by how many coins I have dated 1854. It seems to have been a fascinating year across U.S. coinage, with Large Cents, Half Cents, Seated Liberty silver, and more.
I'll start with a few examples from my collection. If you've got anything dated 1854, I'd love to see it!

Collecting: Dansco 7070; Middle Date Large Cents (VF-AU); Box of 20;

It was also the year the first SF mint opened. I do not currently have a 54-S coin but this is close.

I put a $10 ‘54S in with my CA pioneers. Great connection to the period. (The $20 is above my range.) Cool year.
I love this year; @lermish beat me to it above, but the SF mint is special to me as it’s so close to home. As he said, it’s also the first year for the old SF mint.
I’ll never collect all 5, as the QE & $5 are prohibitively rare, but the other three:
Of the 3, the $1 is my fave!

I only have one, a decent enough album coin.
I have the large cent, but no photo.
Just these 2 from my gold type set.
Lot's of variety for 1854. I have an Eagle from SF but no pic.
Two Huge O's eventually grading F2, AG3 and a 1854 "thin date" variety.
A few that I own from the albums:

From the website. An 1854 year and mintmark set contains 35 coins, excluding proof issues. It is one of a handful of years that the half eagle was produced at all five active mints.

So much "54" one even spilled over into the 1855/54 overdate.

I tend to connect coins in my collection to historical events, this one always makes me think of the Grattan Massacre.

1854 Seated Dollar
The 1854 $3.00, first year of issue, should be a separate type IMO (different reverse). Cool coin.
