    22 years Navy (not counting 4 years at Annapolis) and still at it. It's getting pretty old though. Would retire next year, but the economy sucks so bad...who knows...

    USAF 1971 - 1991. Rescue helicopter pilot (instructor pilot and flight examiner) and T-37/T-38 instructor pilot instructing US and foreign students including the Crown Prince of Iran. Served in SCA, MAC, HQ ATC and the last 6 years in various Pentagon jobs at HQ USAF and DoD. Following my wife's second kidney transplant I turned down a promotion to Colonel and retired to serve my wife who needed me more than the USAF.

    I got drafted 32 years ago on June 3, 1970..... Figure I only have 8 more years and I'm done!!!! .... Funny thing is, the "all volunteer" Army has "STOP LOSS" on now and I couldn't get out even if I wanted to leave!!!!

    My father started off as an Army Tech. Sgt. during WWII... after that conflict, he went into the trades (electrical) but then went to Korea, and subsequently, came back into the service as a Marine for Vietnam... he stayed with the USMC for over 20 years and retired the year after I graduated from Camp Lejeune High School in 1978.

    I took 2 years of a NROTC scholarship and was "active " for a couple of summers, but I never accepted my commission. I was stationed at Charleston, SC and Jacksonville, FL '78 - 80.

    My thanks and deep gratitude to those that served... I learned valuable lessons in Professionalism during my time as a military dependent and my brief time in.

    My dad was a B-24 Bomber pilot in Lecce, Italy during WWII. All 5 of my uncles were USAF, my brother USAF VietNam, I was 6 yrs USAF 68-74 EW Rpmn F-4 C,D&E models at 5 different bases in Germany.
    Thanks to all my band of brothers past and living.
    My wifes father was in WWII, Korea(pow) and Viet Nam(pow). Have never seen so many medals.

    USN 1971 - 1984 served on USS America, USS Ranger, & USS Nimitz. I was assigned to an A6 Intruder squadron (VA35) and was a AQ1 - Aviation Fire Control Technician. I served in the USAF from 1984 -1993 and retired as an 03-E Captain. I was assigned to USAF Communication Squadrons in MS, SC, AR, and the UK.

    My Dad was an Army MP from early 1943 to very early 1946. Got to go to Japan on occupation duty. He had been scheduled to go to Japan the hard way in November of 1945, but the war ended a bit abruptly
