I dint know. What's going on with the bar going from the e in dime into the leaves? Ill go with a 63 just to start
That's the cool thing about this specific large-stars example - it's a clash mark!

Where?
In the meantime, I’ll guess MS62, shot AU58.

Looks really nice on first glance. But reverse - details?

If color not an issue, i guess 63. I don't feel any wear present, perhaps some cabinet friction. Not near as smart as some other graders here, but that's my opinion. Were this coin mine, I would never accept AU prices for it, so I might own it for a while. Lol

Just a wild guess because he said details and there are numerous hits in the right
obverse fields.
I don’t like the color. My grade is AU sharpness, AT.
I don’t care for the tiny untoned stops here and there. It does not look like the “terminal” black toning.
Thank you.

I agree iphones are tough to get images without the pixelations.
Why didn’t you say that before the grade was posted ?

Don’t be too hard on yourself. The majority of guesses were AU.

I guessed high again. i should've left it at too dark to tell

Appears to be an F -110 (your iPhone did not do this dime justice!!!).
I thought I had said so, Mark, when I said I would not let the coin go for AU prices if it were mine and GTG of MS63. You have no idea how close I was to saying MS64, then got scared by all the others. lol

Jim, you do have the honor of having made the highest grade guess.👍

You didn’t post your guess so it never happened. 😉

I think that the average grade guess would have been higher, had those pictures been posted, instead.

ye, it's hard to make out colors from a jail cell.
Seriously had the TV been shown, most would not have gone below 62-63 (well, except @MsMorrisine )
I thought 63 when I saw the original post, then scrolled down and saw 64. Cool looking coin, sort of a “Black Beauty” 🌚
Mr_Spud
Probably. However, the color in the Trueview photos is way off base. For virtually every viewing angle, the coin is dark blue/grey.

So based on the owner’s photo vs the True View, if you bought the coin from the True View and it looked like the owner’s photo when you received it, would you be disappointed or feel mislead?
or.... the owner took a awful photo

In-hand, from almost all viewing angles, my photo conveys a substantially more accurate representation. And I personally much prefer the darker appearance over the heavily exaggerated colors in the Trueview.

However, the owner says his photos more accurately reflect what the coin looks like in person…..soooooo…….
I have an 1838 Seated Liberty dime that on the obverse there is no drapery from her arm, I think the stars are large and the color is dark, There is a die crack from between the 6th & 7th star, counting from bottom left to her right shoulder. On the reverse, I'm not sure what it is called, but on the left side it appears there is metal missing above 'United'. To the right of the words, 'One Dime' the leaves of the wreath seem to be smashed over AMERICA, hiding the letters 'MERI'. The coin is not in that great of condition. Do you think it may still have value?
I see some damage but yes, this coin has value.
It would be great to start a new thread with your coin as the OP!

It appears to be an F-106 (or possibly F-106a). The F-106 is a Top 100 Fortin Variety. As a result, even in this condition (VG Details), there is some demand. It may be worth around $40.
I have no clue how to start a new thread but thank y'all...I appreciate your responses and information. Since this was a coin from one of my sons' US Type Coin Folders, and selling it won't make him rich overnight, I suppose it would be best if I looked for a better-quality coin to replace it! Thnx again.
