Luster of a 64. Reverse marks on eagle and obv. neck. My guess 63.
Looks great, nice and frosty.

Looks like a nice 63, and it seems to have a shot at 4 I think

Ms 63, nice coin 🪙
63+ is my grade, likely a 64 at PCGS.

Attractive look. I think 64 would be reasonable and I would be disappointed with 63. 63+ is definitely in play- good luck with the outcome

NGC is slightly lenient on GSA submissions, I would say MS-64.

Agree with Mark's 63+. Great luster, a few too many marks to 64. JMO

Ya certainly a luster bomb I'd give it a 64
Nice looking 64.

The OP's beautiful, frosty coin looks every bit, if not better than this 1884 that CACG put a 64+ on the label a few months back...

I think 63+ is right on the money, but the luster looks like it could push it into 64 on a good day in the grading room. Very little difference in value between 3 and 4 on this one, fortunately for the OP. Very nice coin!
MS-63. The marks on the cheek are too numerous to grade any higher.
Hard to tell from those pictures. If luster is strong, probably 64.
MS-64
After taking a second look, I am slightly more bullish in terms of the grade being a 64 with even a slight shot at 64+. Let me explain… take a real good look at the fields on both sides. The fields are very clean. The frost merely magnifies the contact contrast from other coins while in the bag. The contact does not seem to be deep. In my slightly revised view, I think a 63+ would even be a disappointment.

63 plus could be shot at 64

The PCGS price guide has the 63 at $860 and the 64 at $900, a negligible spread so it doesn’t matter without a + or a bean.
Is your interest category buy, sell, or hold ?
I like it as a 64

WRONG!
I see pieces with barely a mark on them which are graded MS-64. There are obvious marks on the cheek on this piece.
If that piece were in an NGC or PCGS MS-64 holder, it would not get a CAC sticker.
Another data point, I suppose. Mine were graded by NGC many years ago; probably soon after released by the GSA. Grading standards apparently do change.
"Mine" you wrote under my posted pic...
Thank you for your purchase, if that's what you're getting at?
I had the coin above graded last August and sold it in Sept, if memory serves.
If not your '84 coin above, sorry for my confusion!
Yes, grading standards do change, as do grade opinions based on photos...
Buy as a 62 sell as a 63

I'd like to see those MS-64 pieces with barely a mark on them, thanks!
In the meantime, I've got a couple of PCGS graded GSA's that might grab your attention ⇊ right-click/new-tab for zoom...
One is a 64, and the other two are 65's. I snapped them with my cheap phone.
I think it's time for some to take a step back, and realize that the OP has a nicer coin than one might think?
Some might also perhaps reconsider this notion that a 64 will "barely" have a mark on it, lol.
Or perhaps, this notion that a reflective/contrasting frost-rub equates to a bag-mark/hit. It doesn't imo, and maybe I'm wrong...

.
I think the services are more liberal on the more common CC issues. I’ll guess they would call it a 64. I’d like it better as a 63.
You lost the thread, apparently. But it doesn't matter....
