I don’t put a ton of value into NFL positional rankings. What a diss track though for McCarthy ranked below Rivers this week for QB rankings.

Yes, it’s looking very good for them as of start of the 4th quarter. The Patriots are packing it in.
Buffalo can’t sleep in the first half and come back in the second half. The good teams won’t lay down for them.
I lost faith in Buffalo when they chocked at home against the Chiefs in the playoffs.

During coverage in Bills game showed Josh barfing on the sideline. Apparently from what I read he has a pregame ritual of doing this. And some teammates cheer him on and some join in on the ritual. Never knew this.

Simply playing JB at this point should be a fineable offense
The Patriots blew a big lead (at home) and the Broncos took care of business. I think most fans want the Broncos to finish the season strong enough to get the playoff bye. Bo Nix played well today.

Packers choke it up in Denver. Love isn’t very good under pressure
I picked Denver in this game because the Packers love to choke in these games. But. I'm going to cut them some slack because that game changed on that interception (which was great) on the play Watson was injured on. And... for all his idiocy, Romo had it right. Watson makes that offense better because he's the only WR they have that can stretch the field. Losing Parsons though... that was demoralizing.

To be fair, Dallas has a bad defense. Guess what?
The Giants next week. They are bad.
Detroit's up after that. They gave up 41 points today.
McCarthy might look good right up to the last game of the season against the Pack.

JJ showing some talent tonight. Only way for JJ to learn is to let him play out the losing season. 2 missed FG for the usual Mr. Automatic for Dallas.
Vikings still win if he makes them......I think.
Next week against the Giants, then after that the Lions, McCarthy will play well again.
Green Bay has a good defense. When we play them, it will be a better indicator of JJ's improvement.

The catch stuff makes no sense. If youre running the ball just needs to basically tough the goal line but if youre catching it you cant ever have it move even in the endzone when you clearly caught it
At least have consistency with the two rules
When you're running, you already have possession and the play ends as soon as it breaks the plane (with possession).
With a catch, you have to complete the catch (establish possession).
They're different scenarios so the rules are different, not inconsistent.
Whats the difference for a WR though
A RB can take a step and fumble the ball on the goal line and it counts, but a WR can take multiple steps after the catch and if the ball moves at all it dose not count
One (RB) already has possession, the other has to establish it. In the case of the RB, the play is over as soon as the ball breaks the goal line, assuming he still has possession.
Why should a WR though have to do significantly more
I'm not sure why this is so hard. The WR has to establish possession.
If a WR catches the ball up in the air, gets hit and lands on their back (their feet never touching) , losing control as soon as they hit the ground, is that a touchdown?
@craig44 said:
what about the toe tap TD catches on the edge of the end zone? all the receiver does is catch and get 2 toes in bounds. no "football move" involved.
the receiver in the Baltimore game caught the ball, had 2 feet in bounds and then had the ball knocked out.
what am i missing?
In your example, the toe tap guy never lost control of the ball.

If someone gets pushed out in the air I have no problem with that. Be consistent and dont do the whole ball moved half a cementer stuff

Quite an exciting day in the NFL yesterday, I counted 7 games with more than 60 points scored. There were also a few comebacks and some injuries to marquee players. That is unfortunate this late in the season especially to Mahomes who not long ago was the face of the NFL.
He has a relatively injury free career, it’s been 5 years since he missed any playing time.

I feel badly for Chiefs fans. I completely understand how they feel with the franchise going down with a blow knee.
I think this is the best possible time for them to blow up the team and start over. next year was going to be a bust because of their cap position even with a healthy Mahomes. They should make sure Pat takes it slow in the rehab and get it right and fix the holes in their team as much as they can next season.
what they dont need to have happen is have Patrick push double hard to get back sooner and encounter a setback in rehab. I remember when Tom blew out his knee, He pushed hard-perhaps too hard. He got an infection and they had to go back in and debreed it. he did not look right the whole next season, and his injury was in the first game of the year.

I'm glad they lost, they need a little roughness tucked to them
It's been all sunshine and rainbows, smiling and saying all the right things week after week.
They needed a good loss and being up. 21 and giving the game away should be a wake up call.
Maye is solid but he continues to throw to Mack Hollins over better options like Diggs and Henry, it hasn't been a problem until it was today.
8 targets to him and that is more combined than Diggs and Henry, even Pop Douglas didn't get a target and he is an explosive playmaker when in space.
All is well but I'm curious how we bounce back from this, we go to Baltimore and Buffalo gets Cleveland next week so the party is getting serious now

I agree with Perk though, the team did need some "toughening up" before playoff time. The last 3 weeks to come out hard and regain composure.
