Very true lol, my bid was just a contingency bid i placed like a month ago if it sold unusually cheap for some reason, I really had no intention of winning.
When I truly want something, someone's planning on a loooong-term relationship if they make me into the underbidder.

I decided to send my girl away to be graded along with a army and laser privy eagles. I figured it would be easier for my heirs to sell some day. Got my pics and grade today. Needless to say I am happy with the results. Here she is, now forever entombed and protected:

This is now the 3rd time in the last couple of months that the same coin has been offered up for auction on eBay. All got no further than 20k or so, all ended/deleted. I reported one of the fake listings a month ago.
In each case they use the exact same photographs(2 of them) that were stolen from the original, legit seller - BTRCCOIN.

I would guess that they did the final audit on sales and that is the final total. It is usually completed about a year after sales end.

Only around 70 available on eBay now. The cheapest available is a raw one for $5600. Most are well over 6k now. The original price from the Mint was $3640. This one was a HUGE winner! They went on sale 11/14/24. Not even a year ago! Seems like 10 years ago now.

Correct. That's the deal with numismatic coins. The premium to spot collapses as spot rises.
The same thing happened with generic MS63 Saints $3,000 ago.
OTOH, the converse is true, and you have downside protection if spot declines.

Obviously it's showing the original mintage at 17500 because that particular page hasn't been updated since gold spot price was at $2800 +/-

The authorized Mintage was never at 17,500. 10,000 coins were authorized to be struck.
The Mintage Limit was set at 17,500. The Mint is in no way obligated to strike-up the entire stated limit.
Last known sales are at 9,986. So with that, it's safe to say that 10,000 coins were struck, with 14 coins set aside for damage/cull...

I'm still stuck on $70k for a 2024 modern.
Admittedly one of few struck with one of the most popular early mint designs, but seems a bring premium.
Perhaps I'm in the minority, but there must a contingency of collectors out there that REALLY want these coins.
What am I missing?
